I am having this issue in Samsung Galaxy J5. I am having both SIM cards on. Whenever I receive a call I get this message. And along this error message I am unable to hear any ring on my phone. This issue is crucial, as I sometimes never notified for a call
This issue can be replicated whenever a call is made from any other phone on my number.
My phone's model is: SM J500H
Android version running in it is:6.0.1
I upgraded it recently, but the problem persisted so I tried formatting it and going back to factory reset. BUT the problem still remains.

My friend has a Moto Defy (red lens) running Quarx ICS 5-Mar build. He is unable to recieve messages but can send. Tried multiple SIMs but same problem. Please help; in case you need the SMSC number it is +919032055002
Did he try changing his radio/baseband/modem? Can he receive on GB?

check APN ,make sure its correct and the baseband
It was working fine on Froyo and even ICS few days back (skipped GB). I will check the baseband setting but can only do it tomorrow now. Curious how would APN settings matter in regards to SMS.
Are you sure that number of SMS center is saved in the phone ?
i am having a similar problem [green lens defy]..i usually can send and receive text msgs..but if the phone is inactive for say 5-6 hrs, i stop receiving msgs..if i send some1 a msg after that then again i start receiving msgs..had this problem on GB as well [currently running ICS]..any idea why this is happening..??like the person who started this thread, even i am from india..

Issue resolved
My friend himself resolved the issue by downloading another messenger app! I don't know but it did get fixed Anyways, I have set his baseband to correct settings.

I had the same issue on ShoStock rom on my SGH-I777, Put my sim in another phone and was able to receive messages just fine, BUt when I had my Sim out, I did a simple reboot on my phone and then put the Sim back in and rebooted the phone again and everything works just fine. I am pretty sure it had something to do with the efs folder and the IMEI number because when the sms wouldn't work, I could not open the efs folder but after the reboot and the sms working I can open the folder and view the contents,

But when I restart my phone, I received the messages I wasn't able to receive. This always work when I restart my Phone. But, I cannot restart my phone 5 times a day so I searched google and then I found an answer which is upgrading the firmware/software using Samsung Kies. But the problem is Samsung Kies can't detect my SGY. It just says "Connecting.." but it won't connect even after 30 mins! How can I fix my SGY so I won't get the "Network or Sim Card Error" and receive calls and messages like before?

clean your sim card, change your rom, restart the phone, if wont work, try with other sim card, if still wont work its your phone

Realxx!!!!!!!!!...........i had the same problem all you have to do is use the CWR spp to fix permissions and reboot

If none of the above tips work.. then flash a sweetable package for your region via odin... u can find odin flashable bundles in the general section.... And then try to reconnect with kies.... Hope it will work....

i have a samsung galaxy S4 L720T, first it was showing that its model is I9500 but now after flashing it shows L720T.
the problem is when i place my sim card i don't see my sim contacts loading, and i noticed that when i receive calls no screen call show up just sound, and Message application say (application stopped working when i try to open it when i receuve a message) but i can calling numbers at least codes.
Wifi works fine, i think it is the same problem .
Any solutions ?
It sounds like you might have loaded the wrong rom. I would start by flashing back to a stock rom, and verifying that everything works.

I got a problem with my N910C. I can't send and receive SMS. It is working only short time after I turn on phone (for example one hour, sometimes it's working longer) and after some time my problem appears. I noticed problem on WanamLite 3.2 firmware and I have that issue on Sixperience v6.0 ROM. But I think that linked with my ROM, because when I started using custom ROMs I didn't have that issue. I'm using U1COJ5 modem. I tried to replace my SIM card for new one and I still got this problem.
Any ideas?
Can't send means, that SMS are sending till I got an error, can't receive means that after somebody send me a text I get that message after I will restart my phone.

I recently bought a new galaxy s5 SM-G900F from an amazon marketplace seller and immediately flashed it with lineageOS 16 following the instructions at lineage os wiki -> /devices/klte/install. Everything seemed great until I put my 3 UK sim card in - it recognizes it and shows that I am on the 3 network but with pretty poor / variable signal and phone calls don't work: incoming calls just don't show up at all and with outgoing calls it says it is calling but I don't get any ringing tones and the other side doesn't get anything.
Interestingly for someone calling this phone they get the normal ring tone once and then it changes to the ring tone I would expect if I were calling abroad.
Sadly I didn't take a backup of the software that was already on it and I didn't try it before flashing lineageOS.
Lineage OS showed the baseband firmware as G900FXXS1CQA3. I have since tried flashing new modem firmware to G900FXXU1CQK3 and even full samsung images (latest samsung stock UK BTU) using heimdall - again, everything seeems to work except calls.
Any ideas what I can do?
I would try some other ROM to see if you still face the same issue.
