Standby is amazing if you turn all communications off. Charged to 100% and the next day it was still at 100. However if the Wi-Fi is on, the phone consumes about 3-4%. Isn't that awesome?

Standby is amazing

Mine loses 25-30% overnight. Wifi on or off doesn't make a difference. I've also closed all the apps running in the background! Any ideas why?

Thats so weird what does it show in your battery stats? Mine barely loses 1% overnights

yes it's weird...it's a brand-new phone ordered from the official honor website!
the battery stats: Mobile network signal has the highest consumption and hardware(41%) software(59%)
How much should I expect to lose overnight on standby?
I need this information so that I can make a strong case when contacting the Honor customer service.
Thanks

If Wi-Fi and data is turned off, you should have max around 2-3% drain overnight, maximum of 5% for consideration.
in consumption, you should see Hardware (Screen) as maximum and in software, you will find android OS, android system taking maximum battery.

In hardware Cell Standby is maximum with >22%, screen is only ~8%
Does this mean that it's a hardware issue?

Hi all!
Anyone experiencing high standby drain/consumption with micro SD card installed? With my micro SD card I see an almost fixed rate of drain - a bit more than 1 % per hour. Even during night/sleep. I have tried different cards; both SanDisk Extreme 64 GB, exfat ("fresh", fully formatted) and Samsung class 10 32 GB, FAT32 ("fresh", fully formatted). Tested under both MM, EMUI 4.1 and N, EMUI 5.
I have also tested under MM, EMUI 4.1, without the SD card installed and the drain/consumption is significantly lower; especially during sleep.
Anyone seen anything like this? Or something with the hardware?

Have you compared the behavior without SD card?
It seems lot of media on sd card may cause sich things coz media server scans lot of time. How is the media server behavior in consumption?

Your sim card supports 4G?

Yes, my mobile network and SIM support 4G. I have discovered that the consumption/drain stops when I set the phone to 3G/2G. The data speed at 4G was terrible (2-5 mbit/s). With 3G I get 15-20 mbit/s and normal drain/consumption.
Now, if this is due to 4G constraints/issues with my carrier, I don't know, but I suspect so as the 4G data speed is so low. I am, however, curious if this might have something to do with poorly designed radio hardware/software on the phone. Anybody seeing the same?
For the record, I am currently running Nougat and EMUI 5. The exact same behaviour was seen under M and EMUI 4.1 though.

When I left on standby for a few hours I checked the battery manager and it said I had 259 hrs and 36 min left on power savings and 587hrs and 7 min on ultra power savings mode. The power of honor.

This was last mornings. Really great stand-by capacity.
Sent from my Honor 6X using XDA Labs

As already reported by other users, even a night after a full charge with all off (offline mode, no sounds but vibration, no wi-fi 'n Bluetooth, nothing if not just the phone in standby) my percentage of battery didn't stand off 100%. I'll root my phone and install Battery Charge Limit app to keep the battery between 0 and 80%, in way to preserve the cells without overcharging.

My H6X drains battery in sleep mode (1% for an hour) if WiFi is connected. If Wifi is not connected, the phone don't eat anything (1% for a complete day). My phone is rooted, Bluetooth is always on and i don't use any application for to save battery.

not much when power saving mode is enabled

Power saving mode doesn't even helped.

3-4% normal at night..
I got 3% drain during night with wifi off and single sim installed.
The last two nights my Honor 10 lost about 20% over night (approximately 8h) in Flightmode. I can't tell why... There is no app or hardware that consumes more power than usual. After I got my phone the SOT was about 6 hours, now it barely goes over 3 hours. Does anyone else have the same problem?
Mine loses 5-7 % overnight which seems rather bad to me. My Xiaomi Mi4 which I had before lost like 1-2 %...

Even though you disable mobile data phone will search continuously for 4g signal which is not available properly, which causes battery drain.

This is my battery drain overnight.
Is this a problem? I expect a very near horizontal drain overnight of max 1% to 2%...
That doesn't look like 1% or 2%

Here is an update:
I tried to turn off every app in the battery settings so that they are not allowed to work in the background. That didn't help.
Then i turned off the wifi and bluetooth search for the location (GPS). That didn't help either.
After that i did some research and people with Honor 8 had the same problem and performed a "clear cache" via recovery so i did that too... What a surprise that didn't help. So i read some articles that the Google Pixel 2 and the One Plus 6 have some problems with the battery after the latest Oreo Update so i performed a factory reset aaand that didn't help...
So for fun i powered off my Honor 10 over night and the battery drain was also 20% and the phone was compeletly off.
I will now wait for the next Emui Update and if this will not help i have to exchange this phone.

Hello Everybody, sorry for the late reply.
I send the Honor back to the reseller and today it came back.
The display has been exchanged and two electronic components were exchanged (they did not specify which ones).
The problem seems solved with the repair of the phone.
For people who maybe have the same problem i attached the screenshot when the phone was completely powered off.
Thanks for your help

I left my phone uncharged with 42 percent of battery, after 8 hours of sleep, it's still 42 percent tho. If I'll rate the battery by 1-10, I'll rate it 10 out of 10!
Left my phone overnight just lying there : in the morning it had shut itself down. Battery = 0

I often forget to turn wi fi off but it has never caused any battery drain. The phone consumers no more than 1% during 8 hours of standby every night. This phone is cheap but it's battery is amazing
---------- Post added at 03:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:25 PM ----------
Those who are facing battery issues can do the following:
1. Disable auto syncing
2. Disable auto wifi scanning
3. Disable "mobile data always on" in developers menu
4. Delete some unneeded apps using adb commands. In particular, RCSService (uceShimService), PAI, Spock, Carrier Services, Feedback and some google bloatware. deleting them via ADB won't affect system partitions and won't affect OTA in any way.

Is that 1% nightly loss with (or without) the measures you describe in 1-5 above?
Since the Pie update, mine is consistently losing about 1% per hour (25% per day) just doing (apparently) nothing (few apps installed to sync). I've tried switching off 4G data, WiFi, Location, but curiously that hardly makes any difference. I'm a bit disappointed in comparison to some older android devices that could go for weeks on standby. I can't make much sense of the percentage numbers in the "battery usage" settings as they don't seem to account for it all by any means. I suppose I can try full flight mode next (all radios off) and see how that affects it.

Sorry to hear you are having this. My phone would consume 4-5% before I did some digging and took the aforementioned measures. Now it only gets 1% (2% on rare occasions) overnight even after updating to Pie. However, SOT has taken a significant hit since the Pie update for to screen brightness being too dim when used below 30%. However there is still no problem with standby mode. Do you have D2W functionality? this might be affecting your battery life
Hello, I'm creating an account in order to give my real-life review of this phone. The previous phones I had were HTC One M8, LG G6.
Standby drain is excellent.
At night, I can loose 1 or 2 percent.
But, I have found that the drain is more important when Wi-Fi is turned on.
It only consumes 1% (7% Maximum when I leave WiFi/4G and location turned on) when on standby overnight. Typical for Android phones for me, which is a little bit disappointing considering that it is equipped with 4 Amperes battery.
To compare with, my previous phone (J500H with Bootleggers ROM) did surprisingly better for this, survived doing nothing for a week from 54% to 36% with WiFi turned on (when I just accidentally left it at home while I'm on vacation) and did drain 0-1% overnight doing nothing.
Phone went from 90% to almost shutdown overnight. Gsam reported netmgrd, ipa_ws prevented deep sleep, and Google Play Services have been using body motion sensor for the past 12 hours. I just posted my phone on eBay.
In the beginning battery life was great, close to 4 days. Three years later, it barely makes from morning (100% charged) to evening. Not even a full day....

I've never owned a phone running MIUI but I understand it has pretty aggressive power management (shutting down services and relaunching them when they're needed, rather than just letting Android's power management do its thing in letting them sleep). Wondering if battery drain might be a MIUI-thang?
Does anyone have any first hand experience to improve on my rumour-based speculation?

I'm also getting quite high battery drain at night (around 13%), I have really few apps installed and I tried closing all the apps in memory before going to bed. I haven't tried turning wifi off but that shouldn't be the issue in a modern phone. I hope it gets fixed in an OTA. Otherwise battery life is great.
I tried factory resetting the phone but the problem persists.Ill post the usage when I have used it for some time.
I noticed another thing that this problem is only present for specific WiFis. It works just fine for other networks and also in the networks where the problem is present there is a constant network traffic of about 20-30kbps

The battery drains 2% to 5% at night. Well yeah , it doesn't makes sense while the battery is 4000 mAh , I tried removing background app but still something sucks the battery. I'm new to MIUI , might be the case with this operating system or is it due to always on fingerprint sensor?? I would like to disable that feature because I am I'm love with face unlock. In last few days i am observing, my battery drained max 2-3% in any given night.
I kill all apps from recent menu before goin to sleep. I never turn off WiFi.
I feel its quite impressive for my usage. Lasts me whole day with 20-30% remaining. I get SOT of min 7hrs before battery hitting 10%.
If anyone of you facing major battery drain, try using battery saver. It turns off sync, turns off gps/location. You can even schedule it if you want.
In my case with battery saver on, my general usage is unaffected. Bettery lasts 15-20% more. I even play PUBG at full settings with bettery saver on and it doesn't drop a single frame.

There is one setting that influences standby battery drain very much - "mobile signal standby"
Have a look in your battery monitor.
I have got Mi9SE Global V10.2.5.0.PFBEUXM and my battery lasts longer now.
Go to Settings -> My Device -> internal storage (click 4 times until you are in test suite)
no go to telephone information 1 or 2 (according to your sim)
look for "set preferred network type"
default value is - LTE/TD-SCDMA/UMTS
but in europe there is no TD-SCDMA - so the phone searches for a mobile network that does not exist. this drains your battery
set it to LTE/WCDMA
enjoy much longer battery!
ATTENTION - after a reboot the setting is back to stock! you have to set it again or wait for xiaomi to fix it in a future release!
i try because at night phone drain 12-15% in standby
You can also type *#*#4636#*#* in your dialer to get to that setting
Thanks, will try. Hope thex fix that in future release
Thanks mate! Lets see the endurance with it

default value is - LTE/TD-SCDMA/UMTS
but in europe there is no TD-SCDMA - so the phone searches for a mobile network that does not exist. this drains your battery
set it to LTE/WCDMA
enjoy much longer battery!
ATTENTION - after a reboot the setting is back to stock! you have to set it again or wait for xiaomi to fix it in a future release!

I got Mi 9 se like 2 days ago and I already had read this post, so as soon as I got my phone, I switched to wcdma only as I only use 3g.. The battery life coming from SD 625, 4000mA was underwhelming but still got 7 hours out of it, 1 day and 2 nights usage to the max.. The thing thats bothering me is the cell standby time! It's eating away the battery in idle and during screen on.. Got 8 percent battery drain during the night with everything off and it's been the highest consumer till the end (screen time just took over it at the end).. I am on 10.2.2.. Apparently there is no help regarding this anywhere

You should try the 9.5.16.
My battery life has improved after it

Hi there, just made a quick test overnight and I "think" I found the root cause. I deleted the fingerprint data thus disabling the fingerprint reader and the results are a bit worrying... got 3% loss in 7 hours during the night. This morning I'm stable on 1% / hour drain with short calls and AOD on. I'll take a look in the kernel if I can find anything related to the reader power management, but I'm pretty confident the cause is in there...

I see Cell Standby consumption really high, always at least 25% of battery. No changes with different sim, i tried all

Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the OPPO Find X2 Pro's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
How is everyone’s overnight battery drain ?
I always go to sleep listening to podcasts on bluetooth earphones, generally I’ll fall asleep before the last podcast ends in my podcast queue so there should be no drain. On other phones this results in about 9-10% drain overnight including the time for me to get to sleep.
With this phone it’s 25-30%, it’s like something is keeping it awake and draining resources even though nothing is actually playing. The battery stats you get out of the phone a pretty useless as they don’t tell you what systems processes are draining the battery, just the installed apps.

Issue went away with the A14 update.... Must of been a particular blend of podcast app and Bluetooth headphones or something otherwise everyone would have been on about it!

People report better background apps management and battery overall with A14 update, can you specify how much improvement did you get?

Now what I’d expect to be normal standby drain, about 8-10% which includes the Podcast/Bluetooth activity as i go to sleep. So charge to 100%, put the earbuds in, listen to an 70-90min podcast whilst falling asleep and it’s at 90% in the morning.

Honestly that sounds pretty decent.
If you ever try to fall asleep without the podcasts, could you share that raw standby drain afterwards? And also if you experience improvements in SoT (with A14). Thank you Sir
We're in August now, I am on A.30 but for me the standby drain is still awful.
AccuBattery says:
-1.8% every hour standby
Overnight drain: -10-15%/night (6-10 hours)
Over the day, its also really bad. On WiFi its still like -2%/hour with very good mobile signal.
NapTime does not fix the problem unfortunately.
It's such a shame of this device, as I was used to have -0.8%/hour standby drain and -3%/night with my OP7pro and Realme X2 Pro.
With my Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (I own this device now too) I get around -0,6%/hour and -1-2%./night.
I'm on A34 since yesterday and have to say, that the over all battery consumption massively decreased - also when sleeping.

How did you get A.34?
And, how many % do you lose overnight?

It was an official OTA Update. At night losing approx 4% but have to have a longer look into it.
Where are you from?
I traveled by train again (full day traveling) yesterday. The battery only just made it back home. I was actually quite suprised by the battery life yesterday.
Traveling costs a LOT of battery. My other flagship phones performed about the same. (except for the Samsungs, they were way worse)
Stats:
NL (10%) & DE (90%) 4G (5G disabled) Networks (T-Mobile/Telekom.de) - NO WiFi - 30% on Energy Saving Mode (60Hz),. 70% on full 120Hz with O1
Used for 16 hours - 3.45h screen on time - 0% left
AccuBattery: -16.7%/hr Screen, -2.7%/hr standby
Comparison
Mi Note 10 (also had it with me)
NL (10%) & DE (90%) 4G Networks (KPN/Telekom.de) - NO WiFi - Full 60Hz
Used for 16 hours - 3.15h screen on time - 50% left
AccuBattery: -11.5%/hr screen, -1.5/hr standby (-1.85%/hr if it had the same size battery as the Oppo)
Yes, when travelling you have a lot of cell swapping and more battery drain. But this happen with all mobile phones
