I'd be all for that. I've been using ganachoco's fake nexus until my N5 died. Perfect stock, completely clean, no tweaks and the exact same out-of-the-box experience as my actual Pixel. Haven't yet found anything similar for my Moto G.

Nexus 6P Best custom ROM

Hello guys, what is the most better, customized rom for nexus 6p?
Normally when it comes to Nexus roms, there is no real best ROM. Its all about what u want and don't want. Some are heavily customised, some are almost stock, some come with fancy kernels, etc. But all of them have some small bugs, nothing to keep most form calling them a daily driver, but some. The ones with the least bugs and quicker development are normally the most replied. But just do a backup and try them for yourself. That's what most people will tell u.

I started out with Screw'd rom with synapse and ak kernel (and the kernel updater) which I like very much. As of now I am sitting with the current Screw'd rom and beta testing the Nethunter 2.1 kernel. Loving it!

There is no best ROM, what's best is purely subjective and changes from user to user. These kinds of threads go nowhere, you'll just get a bunch of different opinions. What's best for you can only be decided by you via your own testing.
I was on pure Nexus for a few weeks...had to flash back to stock to get AirWatch mdm to work.
Since then I rooted and am just going stock with Xposed. GravityBox plus a few other modules can do pretty much anything I needed a custom ROM to do.
Is stock with xposed n Franco working correctly?

Yeapp
Working flawlessly
Are there any ROMs currently developed in CAF?
I'm running Ubermallow ROM and R23 Kylo Kernel.
Smooth, stable, and using the built in Kernel auditor I use Barry-Allen and Despair governors for battery life that lasts for days. My favorite set up for sure :good:
I'm using Chroma and FK with Xposed as my daily driver and cannot be happier at this time with the combo
Dang, Xposed and Franco...I'm very happy with the 6P stock as is. But that sounds nice. Xposed and any of those good kernels.

Hello everyone,
After weeks of reading & seeing tests and videos about Nexus 6P, I'm now thinking about buying one.
I've got the International Exynos Galaxy note 3 for two years now, with the CM12.1, it did the job until now, but it got old.
My question is : what's the best rom (custom or stock) for the Nexus 6p? I want the smoothest rom, with a good battery life (I don't care if it's odexed or deodexed)
P.S : I live in algeria, we dont have 4g, Project FI, Google Now...etc

There is no better ROM.
Similar to me saying that's the best phone, or best car. There is no answer because with choice comes preference and opinion..no one can tell you what you need to know.
Also didn't think these threads were allowed on XDA?
Personally using beanstalk and its been decent.
So has pure, resurrection, screwd and I've heard good things about the others.
All very similar to be honest.

I came note series myself and the last one was the note 5. But due to disappointments around overall speed and smoothness of note 5 considering it has more eye watering specs than the nexus 6p, I settled for a nexus 6p. Usually with samsung I always had to use custom roms and kernel in order to get some better performance out of it. Am pleased to say with nexus 6p I still haven't installed a custom rom and kernel because this phone is fast out of the box. Try stock first and if you feel you need more power then go custom.

Thx for the answer dude

Need an advice in choosing a ROM.

Hi guys.
I've using the stock for about 5 months, but it's not as crist fast as my oneolus one.
I'm sure it's a ROM issue and I was thinking to switch to cyanogen. How do u like it and do you like other Roms as well?
Thanks.
PureNexus is the best I ever tried

Should be an issue from your side because my N6P is flying compared to my OPO.
Factory reset might solve the issue - backup first.

This might be due to something else cause OPO is not as smooth a stock 6P. Anyway, ID suggest you to try Pure Nexus, it's really smooth and has many features.

The stock rom is like butter and for sure is way better than my old OPO. Like the others mentioned you should try a factory reset, otherwise try the Purenexus rom, I'm on Purenexus with ElementalX kernel and its coup de grace is the Layers theme engine and customization! Hope this helps

I kicked out Cyanogen about a few years ago when I had the Nexus S. As the above users advised, PureNexus is currently the most-used ROM here, and pair it with your choice of kernel, and you will be good.
I have the OnePlus One too, and it's performance is nowhere near my 6P.
If you're looking for a lot of customizations, DirtyUnicorns or ResurrectionRemix would be great choice too.
Pure nexus, vanir comotio is good. Cyanogen is good. Dirty unicorns is the best. Its fast, perfect on battery, and has anything that exists. Dirty unicorns with their kernel, and I've ran every current ROM.
But I've heard that Cyanogen is still not well developed for this phone, is this true? or can it be used as a daily user ?
After enabling developer options, try reducing Windows Animation Scale and Transition Animation Scales

I may be in the minority but I prefer screwd ROM. The 4/8 milestone release is very smooth, fast, & stable. I was a long time RR user, but since "OK google" detection from the lock screen wasn't reliable Ive switched. I've tried a lot of 6p ROMs tho & pure nexus is a great, stable ROM. I didn't have the best luck with cyanogen, even tho for other devices its been one of my favorite. & some cyanogen based ROMs ive had some minor issues with. For reliability & stability I'd go pure nexus or screwd. For customization I'd go Resurrection Remix, but those are simply my personal preference. DU is also a great rom. Theres lots of ROMs to choose from. I like to try em a wide selection & then decide. Afterall what's the point of having a nexus device if you're going to leave it stock. I guess for me thats any device tho.
Pure nexus rom for sure
I have been using it since I bought my 6p

Best ROM For 6P?

Hello,
I'm looking for the closest thing to stock that also has the Pixel Launcher and Google Assistant. I'm running Pure Nexus on my Nexus 6 and love it. Can't seem to find the equivalent for the 6P. Maybe I'm just missing it?
TIA,
MJ

Definite No. Best marketed/ branded? Yes.
Uberstock best.
Pure Nexus always deteriorates fast , in my 6P. I use Dirty Unicorns, very very nice reliable and lasts for a long time before OS starts to deteriorate. you can find them by googling it. they arent on XDA.
Review the op features, Just try a few, then you can make a reasonable decision... Happy Flashing

im on dirty unicorns too latest weeklies. which kernel are you using? im having an ok battery life with DU tho.
My personal suggestion to you would be to stick with the latest 7.1.1 stock rom and tweak it for those features you want.
Here's a link to the Pixel Launcher: (posted within the 5X forums but should also work for the 6P due to the chips being the same architecture)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/themes-apps/nexus-launcher-t3431396
Side note: this link also has the live wallpapers from the Pixel phones
And here's a link on how to get the Google Assistant on your 6P(or any other phone):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/guide-how-to-enable-google-assistant-t3477879
I would recommend Cortex, which is based on the stock image but includes full Pixel features. I would stay a way from Pure Nexus, which is ludicrously overrated and has the most unfriendly and condescending support thread I have ever encountered. Pure Nexus is far and away the worst Rom I ever ran on my 6P and support was a joke. Cortex is very smooth and fast and doesn't add a lot of unnecessary features --it's literally stock with the Pixel mods built in and a handful of performance tweaks to the build prop.
---------- Post added at 01:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:54 AM ----------
If you add the mods manually to your phone like someone else suggested one of two things will happen: OTA's won't install properly or your mods will disappear after an OTA and you will be starting from scratch every month and have to add them again. You are better off with a reliable Rom that includes Pixel features. But not with Pure Nexus.
Many people say they get 5+ hours of screen on time using stock 6.0.1. Not sure if you can get pixel launcher/ Google assistant on it though.

I use elementalX kernel, using elementalx cpu settings and Heimdall 6 governors. I also disable the last 2 cores. 6 cores is plenty for everday activity. with that, i get a whole day of use pretty easily and phone is staying responsive 99% of the time.
by decay, over time, the Pure Nexus OS will get very laggy and slow for me. Not sure why, but every flash iinstall the same 350+ apps and import my settings using Titanium backup. Only DU seems to be able to stay stable longer than a few days.
For me daily use, the ROM stock 7.1.1 is more than enough

Best ROM depends on personal preference. I like Dirty Unicorns but you'll have to try different ROMs to see which one you prefer.

Moto G5 Plus Custom ROM

Please suggest a custom rom for moto g5 plus which is completely bug free and great performance and smooth experience.
I already tried Pixel Experience both CAF & AOSP and faced black screen issue during call.
Any other custom is better and bug free ? Please suggest here.

If you're looking for something that's completely free of bugs and top performance I recommend rooted stock Oreo.
Every custom ROM out there has some small issues but if you really want to change to a custom it would be up to you to test them by yourself. Just read the ROM threads and what the users are saying. A good indicator is the number of posts.

Yes, It is 100% correct. I always thought it. The original stock rom is completely bug free and there is no others.
I've used OmniROM for years now, the previous and current version. I haven't had any bugs whatsoever. I'm not sure the differences from Stock but I love the options Omni offers.
I'm using 8.1 currently. https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/development/rom-omnirom-t3735886

[official] [12] Pixel Experience Custom Rom

Obviously there is a new custom Rom for Pixel 3a (Sargo) based in Android 12
https://download.pixelexperience.org/sargo
I didn' t try ist out yet but just in case someone wants to try
I flashed this, though my 3a is not my daily, just a second phone for playing with custom ROMs. It all looks good without testing too much, faceunlock works.
Can't comment on kernel stuff because I flashed a custom one
I flashed it - more snappy than stock of course and it's a stock rom...works well for that! As stock, it doesn't have some features I like so I moved on but for what it is - it's a gem
I've just installed it and hot diggity dang, it feels awesome.
edit: it even updated today, awesome!
Does the camera work as well as it does on the stock ROM? I want to switch to pixel experience but the loss of gcam worries me. Nice one
