switch back to stock or wait until urukdroid devs merged the changes into urukdroid

Because they have changed the format of the Medialibrary, they prevent the downgrade.
Wifi channels above 10 are not working atm.
Otherwiese it feels better.
It looks smoother than before. And I had somr problems with some piano apps before there was no voice with some of them. But now all of them working. I don't know it's related with fw though
On my archos 101 the browser is now much smooter and multi touch zooming is better and everithing is lot faster even some games aren't so laggy.

Apparently Archangel does not work anymore.

a) if Archos really closed the leak which archangel was using to gain root privileges, they have to find another leak and you have to wait until they found it
b) you have to use the SDE root method (which will be available as soon as I get my A101IT back from Archos)
c) life without root privileges
I installed 2.3.02, but the downgrade doesn't work (the update is too old...).
Is there an other possibility to downgrade?

Is this actually still 2.2, despite the release #?
Also, anyone else out there use Move2SD enabler (root) and then do this upgrade? I am a little nervous what will happen with those apps that were previously moved to SD in this non-standard way.

Archos release numbers have nothing to do with what version of Android that is being run.
There is no root in this firmware yet so Move2SD will not work. The regular apps2sd that is built in to Froyo will work though.

Ok, I have my A101IT rooted via Chulri's way and it's running smooth n' sweet but I have a question about this apparent new updated Firmware Version 2.3.02? Am I correct to have understood that ..."there was a leak but the leak is currently non-existent and you can't get the new 2.3.02 Firmware any more"? If not, where can you get it... (I.E. - Posting a link to it)?
Also, with those of you who have tested this new Firmware 2.3.02 and/or are currently using it on their Archos 70/101IT tablet (granted it's possible to install right now)... is it worth updating to AND other than "not being able to downgrade because of the Media Library issue are there any other reported issues or areas of concern? How about any advantages over Froyo 2.1.08 WITH full Root Access (which is what I currently have)? Would there be any improvements in things such as Overclocking speed and lag issues with this new 2.3.02??
OK that's my first post here,
I had urukdroid 0.7 installed. I restarted in android mode and downloaded the AOS FILE, then restarted an proceeded with the upgrae. I dont have the root rights anymore but can choose to start in android mode (2.3.02) or in developer mode (urukdroid) 2.1.8 , I can remote control the Archos 101 from my Samsung Galaxy S iin android mode not in Urukdroid. The bootloader is 4.04.000000. I hope it helps.
The other problem is that I had to dislable the screen autosleep as it doesn't wake up anymore in android mode (That's not the case in developer Urukdroid mode).
PS: I still have the root rights in Urukdroid (developer mode), I had to clean the Titanium backup cache as it didn't showed anymore the applications.
Could someone post up the US ICS OTA file? I don't see it available on Lenevo's download site yet: http://download.lenovo.com/slates/think/tablet1/

My biggest concern (I'd probably even lose root if it is fixed), does the pen work as advertised? Or is the infamous 'pen wonk' bug still present?
Pen wonk = writing notes for ~10-15 minutes, pen is suddenly not responsive. Sleep/waking the device fixes it usually. This has been present in every stock Honeycomb build as well as all the CM9 Port builds so I am very curious if this is fixed because I believe it is a hardware issue (Lenovo please prove me wrong). Any info would be much appreciated.

I was able to go from a rooted, CWM'd device (US 64GB) to a fully rooted device without CWM.
After a few painful steps to get an old busybox file restored and stock recovery enabled, the upgrade process was very simple and so far it is working very well with ICS. There hasn't been enough time to judge battery life yet....
Make sure you follow the instructions that other's have posted about using RootKeeper. That is the only thing I needed to use to restore root perfectly.

I updated with CWR rather than reverting to stock recovery. Everything worked fine. However, it did get rid of the stock recovery.

That is good news about the ability to keep root. At least in keeping root, we should theoretically be able to restore CWR.

I commented out the lines of the update script that checked for "indigo" in build.prop.

I did not have CWR to start.
I downloaded the update through the "update" menu on the device.
Update failed due to gps.conf being modified.
Reverted to what I thought was old gps.conf, update still failed.
Install CWR
Try update through CWR
Still fail, due to indigo being required in build.prop (this error is caused by CWR)
Commented out the Indigo lines in the update-script in the update
Flashed again
Still failed for gps.conf.
Commented out each line in update-script mentioning gps.conf
flashed again, it worked.
I take you flashed 310 first then 400?

The update-script is in the META-INF/com/google/android folder in the zip. a # sign will comment out any line.

Heya. I have a rooted verizon note 3. I see i can get the 4.4.4 ota update. So i uninstalled root via SuperSU. I get an error trying to do the ota update. Is there a way to install this update without having to use odin and flashing stock? I dont want to lose all my appz settings etc. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Probably not a good idea to take the update. I'd wait until our trusty devs get ahold of the OTA and do their magic.
Yah, but i get pretty poor 4g for some reason and this update might (is suppose to) fix it. I read a lot of people have unrooted with superSU and installed the OTA update fine but for me it isnt working. Even though i dont have root.

Just install the nk1 modem. That is all you need if you are trying to get better reception.

That might just of been the best error ever, especially if you use root a lot. No way to go back and no known, released root at the moment for that version. Like above me has said, try flashing the NK1 modem using Odin and see if that improves your signal any.
Well, i just have been using the stock rom, rooted with safestrap. Id like to update to 4.4.4 just to have the latest OTA with whatever various fixes it might have. Before i did the update i uninstalled anything from wanam exposed framework wise. Then i did the "remove root" from superSU. I still have the unlocked lock on the note 3 splash screen after reboot and the OTA fails....says error at install screen. I have read other people have done what i have done and the update worked. What im asking is am i overlooking something? Is it really even possible without using odin and reverting to stock even though i have read people have had sucess????

If you want the benefits "fixes" of the latest, would be be smart to Odin stock so you are clean when you take the OTA.

You do realize...that if you take the OTA...you WILL lose root. At this point in time...there is no known way to root 4.4.4 and the latest OTA.

I too have read ambiguous posts of people who have used the 4.4.4 OTA on a towelroot'ed Verizon Note 3s. I've been skeptical that this would work and keep root so thanks for clarifying.
I have a question though. Where should I look to keep track of the latest news about a root technique for a Verizon Note 3? Also, is there a place to contribute to a bounty for someone who can figure this out?
I ask because If you google "samsung note 3 Verizon 4.4.4 towelroot" there are tons of hits, but most of them are from eons ago and while I root my phone, I am not a developer, and so don't know the lay of the land. In the past I've just searched for "root verizon samsung note 3" and crawled through the resulting mound of irrelevant material until eventually I found the answer. Or is the answer simply that every few days I search again to see if anything new pops up?
I realize this is a totally newbie question, but I'm a long-time newbie: I've been rooting my phones for years but I don't have a lot of phones and updates only come out every so often so I never really move up the learning curve of how to do this quickly and easily. My phone messed up earlier this week and I had to use repair assistant and when I did it updated me to NK1 KitKat 4.4.4 and I lost root and can not get it back plus the reception issue is still terrible.

It likely is possible to update and keep root. But if after updating you screw up a mod, etc. and need to get back to stock you will lose root permanently.

Hello I see flashing with odin 3.09, I think I have 3.29- does it matter and I am on biggins rom as well. You dont have to unroot or anything?

There is no Odin 3.29 out. Just Google Odin 3.09 and download to your desktop if you don't
already have it. Then flash the modem to your phone. Don't unroot.

Hi I did have the 3.09, plugged in as media & media 3.0 but it didnt work- any ideas?... I think I have plenty of space. Attached is is the screen I get on Odin.

You need to put your phone in download mode before plugging into pc. Make sure debugging is checked in developer settings.

Verizon forced me to upgrade before they would troubleshoot my phone.
I was not able to do it OTA, but using the Verizon upgrade tool works.
Now I lost root, & I gained a whole bunch of bloatware. Very frustrating

I read about 4.4.4 and didn't like what they took away from 4.4.2. I won't go to it. If I were you I'd 'towelroot'- (get the simple steps on xda), and 'beanstown 106' has all the firmwares for these phones, put the nc4 on w/ 4.4.2, then install biggins rom v7, then upgrade via dirty flash with 8.0 then immediately w/ 8.3- fast touch response and after about 3-4 days, you'lI be getting twice the battery life… I jumped up to the new v9 but they dont have the theme for it yet. I miss the Kromex blue on black…

My tablet is not rooted or modified in any way. I checked for updates, says none available so no upgrade for me yet. Will post back once I get it. I've upgraded other devices from KitKat to Lollipop and they are always laggy after the upgrade. I plan to upgrade then factory reset the tablet as that seems to work out much better.
Finally received the update. All went well since I as not rooted or anything like that. Not used it for long but seems a bit more responsive. I did factory reset and set up as new after doing the Lollipop upgrade.
Does anyone know a successful root method. I've tried everything with no luck. There's got to be some way.

Yes my G Pad 7 has a valid/active AT&T Sim card in it. I have it on my mobile share value plan.

I have the KK source code for the v410. Is there no way to build a KDZ from it? I am guessing there is not because someone would have though of this by now.

Hi, dear, I have been looking for that zip for a long time, can you please give me a link of that as you have said there's a zip with the update, But you didn't share the link of that update kindly do please.
As far as i don't have an AT&T SIM and if i would have one i don't live in the US of America so the OTA on the SIM card is impossible, that way i have asked you guys to share a link you have or someone might have seen it somewhere around the world.

I downloaded KingRoot from app store and that does the trick.
Is there a manual zip file or something for lollipop? Att with no sim. No OTA available
KingRoot APK worked for me..took two tries..then I replaced their flavor of SU with SuperSU....I still have not been able to custom recovery the beast tho.. Lollipop 5.0.2..tried to Flashify with TWRP 3.0.0.0 Bumped..I get boot certification error when I try to go into recovery.. But I can reboot back into Stock ROM..kinda got cold feet..don't want to hose the device!

Memory woes
I've been running my v410 with lollipop for a while now and was getting pretty discouraged that apps keep crashing. Large apps like games will crash when a calendar notification pops up, etc.
I used KingRoot to gain root and then SuperSUme to replace SU and remove KingRoot bloat. Mostly to kill ads since I'm running stock with no custom recovery (there are only about 6 apps I use that require SU)
So anyway, I recently installed Kernel Adiutor to take a peek at some kernel tweaks. Low and behold, the default low memory killer settings are set super aggressive! The most aggressive preset available in Kernel Adiutor is still only half of the default values. I knocked it down to "moderately aggressive" and my memory problems are gone (mostly). I'm now playing with the Z-RAM settings to try and get my memory usage to be more efficient.
I was afraid I would have to downgrade to KK to get this thing back to usable. Perhaps not...

Wait - you have root on 5.0.2?? Can you post a zip?
Is there a working root method for G935U PL4?
No, but a native Hotspot method has been achieved through a workaround for the grayed APN settings.

Hey, I have figured out how to root the SM-G935U on the PL4 build but I haven't determined what is really affected doing it this way. As such I have been able to get xposed working (at least the modules I use).
Step 1: Go to Sammobile and download the PG9 update and get the CP file out of the zip file and flash that over via ODIN on the CP section not the AP/PDA section. This changes the baseband version to PG9 but leaves the build as PL4.
Step 2: Follow the quirky method of installing a root and xposed on this thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039 . I deviated from that slightly and used the xposed installer 3.1.1 instead of the 3.0 alpha from that old thread.
I have been just tinkering with various settings and app version to get this to work this way and don't have the phone currently activated just so you are aware though.

I am on T-mobile and so far I do have internet access, texting, and calling working just fine with this. I will post updates as I come across anything.

How is the performance on PL4 rooted so far? Im thinking about rooting it if the performance is stable.

Hey, sorry. I was on vacation. Well for the day that I used that phone on t mobile everything seemed to work just fine, no battery issues, random signal drops, or just weirdness but later through the day I started added some xposed framework modules and one of them soft bricked the phone so I have to do it all over and figure out which module isn't working with this method.

Can you give an update on the performance after you've finished rooting? Any lagging or battery issues? Still soft bricking from certain installed modules?

I have been working over 100 hours a week and haven't really had time to work on it to see what the issue is. I think the xposed framework for unlocking the microsd card was the issue causing a soft brick, but I haven't verified that yet. Prior to that though, I had no issues w/ lag, excessive data usage, poor battery life, etc.

For all those who are wondering, I have been running this root for a while now and haven't had any issues. While not on power saver mode my phone lasts the whole day with moderate use, root access is fully available, xposed framework fully works (at least for the 3 modules I use), and I have no issue connecting to T Mobiles LTE, HSPA+, HSPA, or 2g networks.

Do you notice any lag after rooting? Is there any type of slowness that occurs when rooted?

If my phone has been on for a few days and I haven't closed out of the background apps, sometimes it will slow down a bit, but force closing everything or restarting the phone fixes it.
