It was available for the S5 New Edition SM-G903M, which has the same processor as J7

You're right! Let's wait till the ending of May, only then can we know if we'll get the update indeed or the whole marshmallow update for the J7 is a lie.

It may be a security patch which will affect rooted devices, ofcourse you can re-root but just a heads up

How is your s7 edge still on that firmware? I have the s7 edge unlocked and sim free from Samsung in the UK and have received the June update. If you haven't received it yet download it from sammobile.com and flash it through odin you won't lose any data on your phone.

I have a firmware waiting to be downloaded from samsung but I am scared to update my phone. I am use to having an iPhone and if you update your iPhone you lose your jailbreak. I don't know how it works with samsung so I am holding off until I get more clarification.
Try rebooting your phone if you want that update. That's what happened to me and I have the same model as you.

The first update came last week and the second one came a couple days ago. I guess the second update has patches for the first update.

Root nightmare
If I'm posting in the wrong section I apologize. But I also want to know if a more reliable version of Route will be available because I have tried 2 different methods listed on this site to root my Verizon S7 and it ruined my phone. Got stuck in boot loop and then when I finally got it to restore after doing a complete firmware reset it's now half functional half not and there's the constant security warning on my phone stating that unauthorized modifications have been made to security reboot phone.. it won't go away. I'm not an idiot I followed the directions fine and my phone is now Jacked. I'm just asking does anyone know of a method that truly works or a way from me to fix the situation there's too many different options listed on the site thank you

Rowhammer exploit might be better but I'm no development so no idea.

I hit up jCase on Twitter about the dirty cow exploit. He said yes this can be used for root. If someone wrote an exploit using it.

Now we just need a bootloader exploit lol

Don't think anyone has a permanent root using this method yet. Still hoping a dev will compile this or rowhammer for us. Only issue I can come up with is DMVerity

DMVerity is the main problem here. It isn't root really. No matter what we do to /system DMVerity will shoot it down. root isn't our issue I think, it's the bootloader.

not familiar with the note 4 situation. But basically I think Samsung finally figured out that the linux kernel will somehow always be exploited one way or another. I mean it's linux and people understand linux well, it's been around forever. So Samsung created something that keeps an eye on /system(i think this is how it works) and if it sees an unauthorized change it bricks. I may be wrong here someone feel free to correct me.

Absolutely Fantastic work from the DU team, sad that things happened the way they did, as it's never a great thing to have all your efforts just wiped out by a Narcissistic individual.....
But I'm not sharing any links or ROM.....you'll just have to use your friend Google....
But will add that the ROM is running great on my 3T and credits to the team, found what I was looking for.....

I think it may have been pinched and the build wasn't fully completed, but all the efforts placed were then just blown by some guy creating a thread in the 3 development section, nor clear on weather it was just a bad share (or intent) was the guy a tester? But think it was a low blow......that well when you get to that point of hours/days/weeks working & some twat posts without consent then it can and did P#ss the DU team off...., but no development hasn't stopped from what I see, So glad as DU ROM is great....:good:

DU is alive and kicking but they've stopped using XDA for a while know.
They also don't want people to share links and builds on XDA. You can find them on Google+ and devs-base.

It's not only not allowed to be shared on XDA if they find out it is, all development will be stopped until the thread is gone. It's happened before and this will cause it to happen again. I've already reported on the g+ community. You might want this thread gone asap.

Yes you can but remember TMOBILE is not on bootloader 5 yet so if you Odin this your stuck with AT&T, till TMOBILE comes out with there v5 bootloader.

Ok cool. Thankyou Venom. One more question. If I Odin this with the tmobile csc and skip the at&t csc will my phone boot back up? I don't want to brick my phone lol. God knows a fair share of us have done that in the past including me. Lmao

Just don't add the Userdata , then go back to recovery and do a factory reset would be a fresh install.

Theres 5 tar don't flash Userdata ATT the rest you can flash and then do a factory reset after it flashes, make sure to backup your data.

Ok great thankyou so much for your help. Let's see how it goes. I'm sure tmobile will release an update with the 5 bootloader soon. I'll just switch back if I'm having any issues.

I know that if I flash this with the homecsc it won't wipe my data but using the regular csc it will wipe data. If I flash all these including the userdata will it still wipe everything?

I have ATT Note 8, was using on Cricket. Didn't update it since I bought it because everytime it shows that the software is uptodate. The baseband is N950USQU1AQH7 which is 10 updates older than the current one.
Question is Can I flash the current update using ODIN safely? Any precaution do I need to do? I am little bit concern as I am using this Note 8 from SAmsung Device Insights program and dont want to brick the phone.

i need to flash my AT&T Note 8 N950U with unbranded version of software and want to use it for india region ( possibility to use samsung pay).
Can you please point me to procedure and related files to download and flash my phone.?
