My redmi note 4G is stuck at boot screen after I restarted my phone due to an app crash and consequent unresponsive touch. I've tried flashing my phone using MI flash but it reports error "Remote: Failed to erase partition."
Please provide me a detailed answer to revive my phone.
Thank You.

1st time switched to custom rom from miui8
installation procedure :
1. wipe everything from twrp (twrp version : twrp-20161219-dior.img)
2. install lineage-14.1-20170301-NIGHTLY-Gerrett84-dior.zip and reboot
3. setup the device
4. reboot to twrp and flash opengapps pico
5. reboot to system
6. reboot to twrp and flash cm-14.1-20170204-edgefix-dior.zip
7. reboot to system
8. reboot to twrp and flash SuperSU-v2.79-20161211114519.zip
using the rom for 5-6 days. rom is really smooth. everything is working as it should be. formatted my 32gb sd card as internal storage and most of the apps is installed in sd card.
in my other device(moto g2), I update my rom once in a month.
so in dior if I want to update the rom, should I flash only the rom or rom+gapp+edgefix+supersu ?

Hello,
how do i Root a Xiaomi Redmi HM Note 1W?
Android Version: 4.2.2 JDQ39
Miui Version: Miui-29.0.0
Baseband Version: Moly.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V21.P33
Kernel Version: 3.4.39
How high is the brick risk?
Thanks

Redmi Note 4g, rooted with TWRP recovery, installed resurrection remix v5.8.0 running Android 7.1.1
Battery drains about 15mins per one percent on standby mode. Decides to update RR rom to 5.8.4 nightly. Did a dirty flash (wipe dalvik, data), boot completed. Google apps started having error of "Google Play Services won't run unless you update Google Play...", checked and found Google Play Services went missing. Don't know why and how it happened... Attempted to flash Gapps Pico but got error 70. Due to Google Apps unable to start, did a Nandroid restore and came back to this RR v5.8.0 again and now still facing the battery drain issue.
TL;DR How to solve battery drain issue on Resurrection Remix v5.8.0.? Personally, I think draining 1% within 15 mins is a bit too much without doing anything. Previously using iPhone was able to eat only 1-2% for a few hours time if in standby mode.

Greetings XDA Team,
I am using a Redmi Note 10 Pro Max (SWEETIN) device. Currently I am running on xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote10Pro_V13.0.15.0.SKFMIXM_v13-12. This rom is for Redmi Note 10 Pro (SWEET). Basically SWEETIN and SWEET are the same devices. SWEETIN is just the Indian varient of the global varient SWEET. The rom is running flawlessly on my SWEETIN device. The issue I am facing is with updating to the latest version (xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote10Pro_V13.0.16.0.SKFMIXM_v13-12). The updater is aborting the update via recovery mode because of the rom is for SWEET and my device is SWEETIN. I need help to prevent the updater from aborting the update process. Please help me if possible
Regards,
Blaze

Hello everyone
I hope somebody can help me with this question. I just got a Redmi Note 12 4G and was hoping, actually wishing that it had NFC on it as it does state that it is region/market dependant, but unfortunately no matter how much I researched, I could not find which region it was dependant on. So I bit the bullet and bought it, to discover that NFC is not supported in my region. Now, my question is, does anyone know if it's the actual hardware that differs in each device (the chip/coil is not present) or is it the software that is locked and not allowing me to use it?
This could not be answered by Xiaomi technical support, but he did mention something about 3rd party apps that can make NFC work so it has me pondering.
I would really like to know as if it is software, I think a Custom ROM could really help me out.
If anyone has an answer, please let me know.
Thanks

Redmi Note 4G LTE - MIUI-KHICNBF96.0.1

Just got this little beast to play around with yesterday.
My minote4G is based on KitKat 4.4.2 running on MIUI V5, wondering if there's already any upgrade version to V6 for my Redmi Note Type mentioned above? ...
I read the forum here and miui english forum and seems to have so many types of Redmi Notes with different Type of ROM official Code. This is my first time having this confusing ROM Code compare to other handheld I have.
Appreciate it much of your help, to share some extra guidance.
I have the same ROM installed.
Looking for v6 I read a post in english miuiDotCom "[Tools, Tips & Tutorials] [MiUI Device Team] Note 3/4G - Which ROM should i use? "
There are 2 variants of Redmi Note 4G devices; (i) TDD-LTE, (ii) FDD-LTE. For both devices, you can choose between (i) 4G-Global, (ii) 4G , ROMs
4G-Global is v5 multi-languages, with google apps. 4G is v6 only chinese and english and does not have google-app preinstalled.
Roms can be downloaded from the same forum at Downloads.
Sorry I can´t post links.
Running this..it's the latest multi Miui V6 with all google apps pre-installed. No Chinese apps. Runs great and looks even better.

Official Stable V6 ROM
bigota.d.miui.com/V6.2.2.0.KHICNBK/miui_H3LTE_V6.2.2.0.KHICNBK_a7592e51ac_4.4.zip
You can checkout for updates from below link.
http://en.miui.com/download-218.html#342
Redmi Note 4G - Chinese and English
Redmi Note 4G Global - Multi Language.
You can also prefer to download developer ROM if you wish to play around, but be ready to handle if there are any minor bugs coz that is dev rom.
Good luck flashing!

If coming from an older version of MIUI then you do not need to full wipe. He releases a new version every week/Friday...here is the main page. Search for the latest date and go into that folder. In this case it's 5.1.9(date being 1/9/2015)...Our phone is named "dior". Every week you can go in and get the latest build. Just flash that in recovery without wiping your data and everything will stay intact. You will need to flash the latest SuperSU zip along with the ROM to maintain root or use the built in root app. The fact that you are rooted now does not matter.

Thanks for the useful information .. :good:
After flashing the following rom ..
Android version 4.4.4 KTU84P
MIUI version MIUI 4.12.26 Beta
Baseband version MPSS.DI.3.0-39afeeb
Kernel version 3.4.0-g26e4aff-00654-g222c97
Received the message 'Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped'. However, all the applications can run without problem.
What I missed in the flashing?
If you're coming from anything besides MIUI then you have to do a full wipe....Also, no need to flash a baseband or kernel. I would start fresh with the latest build from 1/10

Should I also flash the gapps for KK as well?
Talking about doing a full wipe, can I use PhilipZ recovery to do this?
Yes you can use Philz to wipe. Don't flash gapps. They're already included in these MIUI builds and it could cause issues.

Do i need to have custom recovery like Philz to flash above ROM or can i flash it from Updater application inside MIUI?
Can i flash custom recovery without having rooted my device?
Can i flash MIUI6 developer rom without having rooted my device?
Also Redmi Note 4G developer rom (named dior) is common for all variants of Redmi Note 4G mobiles? (heard there are variants in it).

[Q] an American trying to use google apps on a chinese Xiaomi Redmi Note 4g

hello!
I recently bought a Redmi Note 4g and I'm trying to set it up so it's actually useful to me. I've tried downloading the apk for google play app store, doesn't work. I think it might be because I'm using a Chinese ROM, but I have so far failed to replace my current ROM with a Global version, and I'm not sure why.
model number HM NOTE 1LTE
Android Version 4.4.4 KTU84P
MIUI version 6.4.1.0 (KHICNCB) Stable
is the global ROM sufficient? if so, how do I install it? I have attempted this, but I'm not very knowledgeable, and have so far failed to understand the directions provided.
do I need a custom ROM?
all I really need is the ability to use google apps, I think. please help!

I think you are using chinese version, you need to update version by installing global version.
you can download the ROm , en miui forum
, save file in the root of memory internal, boot into recovery and choose update
Provided you have developer edition ROM (which comes pre-rooted) I had the same issue. Just search the Web for "Google installer for Xiaomi and you'll find an apk which will let you install Google Play and subsequently all the Google Apps.

Mi Max Helium 3gb/64gb - first review (and ROM flash tips)

Hi,
guess this will be more of a review as it is hard to say which feature i like BEST:
Got my MAX 3gb/64gb (helium) delievered yesterday. Since it came with the 7.3 MIUI first thing i had to do was read up on how to install the MIUI8 China dev rom to the device. After a bit of fiddling and translating chinese / indian websites i came up with a workable solution, even with the bootloader locked. So since yesterday evening i got MIUI8 6.6.23 running on the device - weeded out some apps i did not understand (chinese) and installed Play Store.
So far i must say - this phone is glorious. MIUI8 is fast and seemingly stable, i did not come across any big bugs and there doesnt even seem to be the typical micro-stuttering. Im really happy i bought the phone and hoping there will be a multilanguage (i.e. german) MIUI8 for it. For now im perfectly good with the Dev Rom and english localisation.
Thanks Xiaomi!
To anybody interested - flashing the China Development ROM (MIUI 8 6.6.23) with the locked bootloader was not exactly easy, here is how to:
- get the rom image from here: http://en.miui.com/thread-299033-1-1.html (be sure to download the Mi Max Pro fastboot image - 1418mb)
- get MiFlash Beta from here: http://xiaomitips.com/download/new-miflash-beta-one-click-install-miui-fastboot-rom/
- extract tgz fastboot image - keep folder structure!
- enable developer options -> usb debugging in additional settings then turn off phone
- boot phone into EDL mode (phone off, press simultaneously vol+&vol- then connect usb cable)
- open miflash beta - there should be an entry with "id 1" and "device" something like "COM10" in the bottom table now - SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS!
- select the folder where extracted image is located
- tick "clean all" in the bottom right
- hit flash
- enjoy.
First of all, thank you for sharing this. I went step by step (vol up and down didn't work for me, tried power and vol up and device didn't show up in fast boot, did vol down and power and it showed up) then I flashed the image and it successfully flashed, when the device booted it still showed the 7.4.16 global stable Rom the vendor installed : /, I did it again and the same thing, the rom didn't change. could you please help/?
Sorry, I followed the steps exactly as described and it worked out perfectly, thank you very much, its just that when I pressed vol + and - I didn't see anything on the screen so I thought it wasn't working, miui 8 is nice indeed, could you explain how you installed the play store, the one on the Mi store is crashing on me.
it's a little tricky but there is a thread on here that should get you started. you have to use the Google installer and then update some Google components before you restart your phone.

6.6.23 is older (june 23)
6.7.7 is the newest sofar (July 7)
I use the weekly multi rom on my MI Max since its better tuned with translations and the china apps that I don't use are removed
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/6-7-7-11.32639/
the process for installing the new Version does not change with the newer miui8 6.7.7 so you're good to go with the same Instructions from OP.
Meanwhile on my Max I have boot loader unlocked and root. Works flawlessly with the new MIUI weekly Releases.

Thanks a lot for you experience sharing,
I was wondering maybe you solved this: i can't get whatsapp to run on this rom, even with all permissions given, whatapps and skype cant access my contacts. I got my contacts on the system using the old google installer apk which worked wonders except now i can't get past the looking for backup screen in whatsapp.
If anyone has ideas pls let me know and in the meanwhile i will try to flash other roms to see if one works..
I answered my own question playing with the settings. You have to register under accounts mi accounts to unable contact sync for all apps .... ? anyway it all works now!
BTW I have updated MUIU using http://en.miui.com/download-302.html#446 new dev rom and followed instructions.

Thanks heaps for the tutorial about installing Google Play services
By the way, can this rom you're talking about be flashed following the instructions by original poster?
Do I need to flash in first place the rom from original poster (MIUI 8 6.6.23) and then flash your new one (MIUI 8 6.7.14)?
Or can I flash directly latest one?

I can't tell you for sure but i think you have to use the instructions from the muiu site if you want the lastest dev rom.
1- I used OP instructions and links to install muiu 8
2- updated to last china dev rom following muiu site instructions.
3- installed all gapps stuff
PS if you want to ROOT, do this between 2 and 3: (unlocked boot loader)
1-Download SuperSu to root Xiaomi Mi Max and copy it to your phone sd card from this site: http://www.stechguide.com/root-install-twrp-recovery-xiaomi-mi-max/
2-Download xiaomi twrp flasher and use it to flash from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max/development/tool-xiaomi-twrp-flasher-mauronofrio-win-t3405207
3-Follow instructions from step 9 : http://www.stechguide.com/root-install-twrp-recovery-xiaomi-mi-max/
Last thing im playing with trying to activate LTE bands on the phone. If anyone can help for that, i can't get the drivers to install propertly

"helium" and "hydrogen" are just Mi Max 1! First one is equipped with Snapdragon 652, second one is equipped with Snapdragon 650. I guess that if you'll flash helium/hydrogen firmware on nitrogen you'll get bricked

Have try a lot of GSI rom on Max 3 and it's never smooth and stable like Miui (Xiaomi.eu for me)....wait a true custom rom
Totally agree with you
What happens if I don't install Chinese ROM, and flash this Pixel Experience ROM on Xiaomi.eu right away?

I agree, they all have too many issues. It's been 7 months now and we don't have any custom ROM's despite this being one of the most popular Xiaomi phones (according to their offical forums and rom download stats), so why the hell is nooone developing for it? At this rate the Mi Max 4 will be out before the we even have a single native custom ROM.
I to was pissed off because there are no custom romI order another phone, not xiaomi and when i receive it will sell my mi max 3.I am not sure that will try xiaomi phones again..
I'm currently using Miui PRO - latest version and it is Android 9 - working flawlessly, no errors found so far and battery is pretty amazing Go on and try it guys, it's the best thing and it is regularly updated. Not changing my Mi Max 3 for anything so far. The russians have done amazing job with this rom
Havoc 2.0 is epic on this phone guys. I have been using for over a month now and its solid. Few issues were BT audio and adaptive brightness for which there are fixes. I using it right now and its solid and as stable as can be

MIUI 12 slow as ...

Hello everyone,
I have my redmi note 7 with which I've kept using MIUI since I bought it. But now the android system weights for 9 go. I think it is insane for a phone, correct me if I'm wrong.
The phone is slow and when I try to erase everything et reinstall it. The system is faster but the system is still heavy.
Do you think rooting it can help solve the issue ? Or may those 9 go of system be caused by some viruses ?
Thanksnin advance,

Unlock the bootloader and flash a customer without root. You have a big choice, the most one are very fast and stable
Thank you for your answer.
0) what is the weight of a normal custom system once installed ?
1) Do you mean to flash a rom and still using the original kernel ?
The last time I flashed a system, it was on a Galaxy S2.... Did the things changed ? At that time we had an important risk to brick the phone under gingerbread version of Android (that version had some kind of bug) .
2) Are the risks still high today ?
I looked a bit through the list or roms on xda and the lineageOS seems to come out as the lightest rom.
3) Is there a room that is more stable than the others ?
4) Is there a rom that is kept updated more than the others ?
5) What about the android security updates once a custom rom is installed ?
Sorry that is a lot of questions but I need an update since my galaxy S2
Thanks in advance,

First, when you unlock your bootloader your phone make a factory reset. Then you have the choice which ROM. lingeos, havoc, pixel os are stable and have the last security patch. Then you have the choice with or without gapps (Google apps). In every thread is a how to and the recommend gapps. Orange fox is a very good recovery. And brick risk is small. Sometimes I had a softbrick with testing around kernel and modules, but it easy to fix. Make a backup with the customer recovery before. The weight I don't know in the moment. My daughter change the pattern . In the forum is a old how to unlock and under development is the recovery. You will find it. Have fun

Thank you very much for your answer.
I'll post the comparison of the weight of the system once I'll have installed it.
