play store isnt installing apps on moto g4plus after nougat update - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

hello,
after updating to android 7.0 nougat play store is not installing apps. the problem only faced while on roaming network. on home network or wifi the problem is not faced

Actually most of us are facing this problem.....This problem is with the Android N and it has been reported back to google!!

Are you on the soak test or custom ROM? It may be an issue on the soak test as I can't replicate it on CM 14.1.

Are you saying you are able to download from the play store on a roaming data connection? Well it doesn't seem to work on stock 7.1 Roms on the Nexus. Maybe it's changed in cm14.1. Can't test roaming cause I'm home.

A quick Google search for 'playstore downloads on roaming data' will bring up a dozen odd search results, many pointing to Google's official product help pages.
This appears to be a Nougat related issue ( bug?) that's been reported from across devices and networks. Doesn't seem to be specific to CM.
The way I've managed to get around it (only to a reasonable extent) is by downloading updated apps from APKmirror and similar sites (PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHERE YOU DOWNLOAD FROM). As for downloads originating from chrome or Android webview/chromium webview, download manager not downloading links got solved by using ADM wherever I could. Though I feel using another browser with a built in download manager could also be given a shot.
I'll check back to see if there are other workarounds mentioned on here, though can't wait for Google to fix things back up.

Unfortunately it hasn't, can't download on roaming data on CM based RR 5.8.0. From Google's official product forums and from what I've picked up on Xda as well, this appears to be a Nougat specific issue, probably the latest update (7.1.1) given that's around when users started noticing the bug.
Hope things can go back to using playstore as we've always done soon enough

Samsung Internet Browser now available on Play Store

just an FYI to my fellow VZW people, the samsung browser is available in the play store. on reddit, some vzw people said it still wasn't, while a few of us said it was, and we got it fine. i have it running with an ad blocker and all. try it out and see if it works for you. it's SO much faster than chrome, especially with Crystal (the ad blocker) so i deleted chrome. idc about synced bookmarks anymore honestly bc of how crappy chrome is on mobile.

I had already installed it from another thread on XDA then this morning when I clicked on a Playstore link for it, the Update button was live and updated it to a new version.
Yeah not working for me on a brand new phone with new software updates.

I was disappointed as well. I loaded Firefox and have been using it. Frankly, I like Firefox on my PC, but mobile, not so much. Thank you for the heads up.
I put a help ticket in at samsung asking for an apk. I'll update y'all with what they say
The 50 one in this thread is what I was using until my update from the Playstore. The Playstore updated it to the 51 version. Worked just fine for me.

Here's the update: the browser came out after the s7 was released and was originally setup for the older devices. We may receive the browser in a future feature update.

no it didn't. that browser was around when marshmallow came out to the note 5/s6 etc...which was before the s7. samsung customer service is useless lol
Lol
I ended up going to the google play store on my mac and selecting install and it pushed it to my s7.Did not give the option from the play store on my s7.

I downloaded the version from Dropbox as the one from mega won't install either. That works though the play store version still says not compatible.

Been using the 51 version since available, was also saying device not compatible, but today it links up perfectly to play store
I was using version 50 without a problem and the Playstore said it was incompatible until last Thursday when Playstore notified me of an update to Version 51. Let it update and runs perfectly.
So then, everything is working for you now?
Works for me today from the play store.

Nougat, Play Store and Data Roaming

So I'm in Europe for a few weeks and have been enjoying T-Mobile's unlimited data roaming while I'm here. I still try to be fair and use wifi for heavier downloads when I have access to it. I was able to update and download apps using just cellular data when I was using Marshmallow. I updated to Nougat and it no longer works. It downloads fine on wifi, and with data roaming off, when I try to download individual apps I get asked if I want to use only wifi as it will use alot of data. With data roaming on, no such question is asked and it just says pending until I connect to wifi.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?
Thanks in advance for your responses!
Just reporting back. I'm back in the US and apps now download via cellular data again so it's clearly an android nougat "feature." They should give us the option to choose as this can be be a huge inconvenience for many as it was for me.

Same
Got the same issue and can't find a solution. Anyone has an idea how to change this?
Already tried all standard settings, altering updates on roaming etc.
Not fixed yet. All options tried.
M facing the same issue and there seems to be no solution to this currently
Same here, in different device. Reverted back to MM.
Either Motorola or Google has to take this issue of 'Disabled App Download/Upgrade on Roaming' feature seriously. This is a stupid kind of thing I have ever seen. It should be the decision of end user whether to update or not to update while on roaming. With implementing this irritating feature Android is ruining it's own image. This is one of the 'Dumbest thing' ever happened in software industry.
Totally upset with it. I am facing this issues & have seen many people complaining on different community forums regarding this issue since SEP-2016.
Only God knows when Android Developers will take it seriously. May GOD en-light Google on this !

I'm in Canada, using an international version of the Nexus 6p, and there is not even a section called Networking under Google. I'm on the latest version of Google Play Services and Connectivity.
Could this have something to do with me being on the Developers edition of Android N before? I thought it upgraded to the retail edition when Nougat came out???

Ok this is getting really weird. It does not appear under Settings/Wi-fi/Gear. And Networking doesn't even appear under Settings/Google.
1. I thought it could be because I was still on NRD90M, so I used the Toolkit to upgrade the OTA to NRD90U. It still didn't show up. Are you guys all on custom roms ? I'm wondering if this is why you are all getting it.
2. So then I used http://opengapps.org/ to create a gapps zip of the latest Google apps and installed it. And it STILL DOESN'T SHOW UP! Furthermore, I checked and Google Fi and Android Pay don't show up in my app list, even though they show up under Settings/Apps as Disabled.
Am I doing something wrong here?

It's a server side thing. All you can do is make sure that your have the latest Google Connectivity Services update and wait. I have had this Wi-Fi assistant toggle for a few days on official rooted 7.0 on my 5X.

I am having similar issues to montreal, the difference with me is that I originally had the networking menu under settings>google>networking. But the connectivity manager would always force close on me when I tried to enable it. I thought it might have been a problem with the permissions or having root, I toggled root off w/ magisk and uninstalled google connectivity services and then reinstalled it. Now, the networking option is completely gone from my menus.

Where's our Nougat update ZTE??

Update 6/21/2017: OTA update to Android 7.1.1 is out, and I received the OTA and installed it around 10 pm CST. Working great so far!! I like to think that my writing this post here on XDA finally caught the attention of ZTE, so they decided to get the update out ASAP lol. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Getting a Nougat update for the Axon 7 mini seems to be too much of a challenge for ZTE. As most of you know, ZTE has been running a closed Beta test of Android Nougat for our device. Three months is a pretty long Beta test, and it seems to me that ZTE may be experiencing some problems. I am not part of the Beta, I was in the hospital and didn't find out about it until sign ups were over. Is there anyone who's running the Beta right now that could give us an update? Feel free to PM me, and I can pass any updated info along to those of us not in the Beta, as I don't want anyone who does pass the info along to get in trouble for violating an NDA. Thanks!

I messaged ZTE on twitter about a week ago asking if they plan on releasing nougat or if not to unlock the bootloader if they planned on no longer supporting the device and this is the reply I got.
The Axon 7 Mini is still supported, and we've confirmed than an update will be released soon. We appreciate your continued patience. At this time, we are unable to provide assistance to unlock the bootloader of this device.

Now my definition of soon may be different from theirs but I got this message last Tuesday I hope this helps in some way.

Thanks for the info, hopefully the update will be here soon!
I have received information about the beta via a couple of PM's from active beta testers. Looks like they are currently testing 7.1.1 with the June security patch. The software is said to be running good, but has a couple unspecified bugs that need to be corrected. All sources indicate that the update should be releasing very soon, but no confirmed release date yet. I wi6add further information as I receive it.

That's just weird. According to the beta testers, that build was sent to them shortly after the beta began, and still has some software bugs. I would have thought that ZTE would at least have one more update to the firmware prior to launch.
I guess we'll see if ZTE just ignored the bugs to get the update out. Apparently the OTA is supposed to be available, but I'm not seeing it yet (Missouri). Anyone here in the US been able to update yet?

I got the update last night but this morning after turning on the T-Mobile wi-fi calling it messed up my cellular radio. Keeps turning on/off. Connects then disconnects. Anyone else having this problem?
Looks like I may have to reset the phone. ?

Is it possible to set a custom dpi?
So I reset my phone and that didn't fix my problem. I messed around with all the WiFi & WiFi calling settings and cellular data settings with none of them fixing my problem. I then turned on the developers options and for some reason that fixed my cellular from turning on and off.
That fixed my issue if anyone has the same problem.

Okay thanks man
My son's got it this morning finally... Update took a while, probably close to 40 minutes start to finish, including the "Android is upgrading" portion after full boot. That must be an N thing, it rebuild cache on the fly or something. So far so good, no issues or problems yet.
We don't have T-Mobile here, use H2O (an AT&T MVNO) and so far no issues with radios or connection.
TBH, the more I play with this device the more I like it... the UI isn't too bad, one thing that gets me is the modified "Home" menu and you can't easily switch launchers without uninstalling one, but that is for another thread if I ever decide to pursue it.

The problem isn't Oreo, but the unlocked bootloader tripping safety net, Netflix also blocks rooted devices now. You can try magisk for root, I don't use it so I can't help you out with that.
