I'm currently running a rooted qualcomm vzw s7, on echoe rom.
I'm aware that the bootloader is on lockdown, but this thing really needs a custom recovery!
The vzw S5 was capable of using Safestrap as a pretty clever alternative to having custom recovery access whilst having a locked bootloader.
My main question is.. is this possible for the VZW S7?
I want to test the vzw s5 safestrap on this phone, but I'm hesitant because I really don't want to have to start from the beginning if this doesn't work..
Any ideas? Has anyone tried this?

Not going to work. It was a work around for a different phone. The developer gave up on that a long time ago.

Even if it was available/possible it is just as effective at custom roms as flashfire. You can only flash stock, un touched kernels, and if you were to flash any other than the engi boot kernel you would get DM verity issues.

Hi! Thinking of getting the G2 on Verizon. However, I want to make sure that it's not so locked down that I can't flash CM on it. Can anyone give a geeral state of affairs on the development scene on this phone?
You can flash custom ROMs on it. The bootloader is still locked, but there's a workaround (loki).

Pretty easy if you do some research, I had some issues after taking the 12B OTA before rooting and trying any custom ROMs and ran into some snags.. I rolled back to a previous version and it's been very hassle free using TWRP 2.6.3.3. Gr33nd3vil's unofficial CM has been running very nicely
I'm currently using the galaxy S4 and am bored with it. Looking for a second phone to mess around with. Just want to make sure I have read things correctly. On the Verizon LG G2 you are able to unlock the boot loader and flash custom roms correct?

According to my knowledge you dont have to unlock the bootloader to flash customs roms.

I feel like I've spent two whole days downloading and flashing stuff on my phone, and to no avail, nothing has worked. In your opinion, what's the best way to get _________ ROM on your AT&T Galaxy S4? I'm currently downgrading from NB1 to MK2 because I thought it'd be easier, but I thought I should ask everyone else first. I'd honestly just like to get Cyanogen Mod on my phone and call it a day, so what would be the easiest way to go about it?
Edit: I can root my phone just fine, but I'm basically asking for what version my phone should have as well as the easiest procedure to get me a custom ROM on my phone.
Currently there is no way to install AOSP/AOKP ROMs. The ROMs that can be installed are listed in the all things att thread

Hey guys, 2 years ago I upgrade my Galaxy S Captivate to a Galaxy S4. When I got the S4 I disabled the system update (don't remember how) and I installed SafeStrap, and also Rooted the stock OS. Since then I haven't really done much with my S4.
I didn't do much else with it because at the time the options were few. Boot loader was locked. So now that it's been 2 years, what options do I have?
When I had my captivate, and also used a Droid Razor Maxx, I was running Cyanogenmod. I was also running CM on my Galaxy Tab 2.
Is there a way to get a CM Rom on my Galaxy S4. The boot loader is MK2. And like I said, SafeStrap is installed.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I've been doing some reading but get lost fairly quickly since I don't come back here as frequently as I should.
Thank you in advance.

You could upgrade to kit-kat and if you want lollipop you could upgrade to lollipop from kit-kat. You can find all the rom and instructions here.
If you want to use CM, you upgrade your phone to kit-kat, install safestrap and install the CM11. The post is here.
And all this is possible with the boot loader locked?
Two years ago I disabled the phones request to upgrade and disabled whatever service is responsible for the upgrade. Now I can remember what I disabled.

Bootloader locked means you can not install the custom recovery like CWM, TWRP and you can not install the custom kernel.
If you go through the first link that I mentioned, you would find "Block the AT&T OTA update".
Yea I knew I couldn't do TWRP or CWM and kernel, which is why I have SafeStrap installed.
Thanks man. I'll play with it a bit and do more reading.

I've been in the rooting scheme since the Galaxy S2, but whenever i rooted a phone I would install a custom rom on it. On the s10+ though, the roms that are available atm are very slow to get updated, so I've started thinking about running stock rom rooted. I have a few uncertainties:
Updating to newer versions:
Would flashing updated through odin work? If not, how would I update my phone?
Samsung Health
I know that it can be fixed by editing some line(s) in build.prop
Other issues I might encounter
Such as "phone status: custom" and samsung pass not working, thus not being able to have my passwords remembered by samsung internet like on custom roms where samsung pay is debloated (or maybe it's another patch that's applied idk
Thanks guys for your help!
You might trip KNOX too. I wouldn't know, I have a locked bootloader snapdragon model.
