Hello folks. Just wondering if this is widely known, or specific to my phone/ROM.
I just switched from a Moto G to a Galaxy S5. I've played candy crush for a long time, and while it was always a battery drainer on the Moto G, it is an extreme battery drainer on the S5. When I'm actively playing the game, it takes about 2% off the battery per minute!!!
This strikes me as ridiculous. Anybody having the same experience?
Thanks.
It is an old phone with small battery and high screen quality and heavy processor ,
what do you expect from it. Anyway!
Best way save battery of your phone use 15% brightness. it work for whole day with call and 4g for me with 4 yrs old battery.
saga games normally eat lot of battery and make my phone hot( for S5 - very very hot).

Unfortunately it is normal... I came from Redmi 2 Prime, dropped 1% each 6 minutes or more playing heavy games. I miss that battery so bad! My Galaxy S5 G900M also drops 1% every 2 minutes, and this brand new battery was purchased last week. The reason for the high drainage is the 1080p screen (even if you decrease the resolution to 720p, the battery keeps draining as hell) and the > 2.0ghz processor. There's nothing we can do about it. If you want battery, I recommend you Xiaomi Redmi 4x. My dad owns one, and it drops 1% every 10 minutes or more on normal usage (each 7/8 minutes playing)

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if the culprit was the high clock rate and high resolution.
Considering A OP5 right now and battery life is very important for me.
I'm pretty sure that the 3300mah battery mated to the sd835 are allright for normal use but how much drain do you get when playing pubg? and at wich settings?
Thanks yall
I've only played it a few times but I didn't notice any any terrible battery drain. However I'm not a big gamer and didn't play for longer than maybe 40 minutes.

I do a fair bit of gaming and played PUBG for a while. I can say the battery life on the OP5 is pretty damn good. I generally get about 3.5 to 4.5 hours of SOT gaming but this is while playing various games not just 1 in one sitting so I can say for certain about how much you will get on PUBG on max settings.
I have been playing Ragnarok M for the past 2.5 hours and I started when my battery was 100%. After 2.5 hours of SOT, I am at 60% right now. Ragnarok M runs at 720p so not as intensive as PUBG.
Update: 4 hours and 40 minutes on Ragnarok M and 18% battery left.

Thank you both
I've always found this phone not exactly great for standby time but very good when it comes to extended heavy usage like watching YouTube videos or browsing and even the occasional times I have played games.

I am using 9.0.3 with xXx Magisk rom 4.3. I use Affinity kernel with L Speed set to the battery profile. I have no issues with lag in gaming with this setup.
I play PUBGM for close to 5 hours on Graphics as 'Smooth' and FPS as 'Extreme' with anti-aliasing turned off along with auto adjust(?) of graphics. I am left with 15 to 20% battery at the end. I am using the OB26 with the stock kernel and no changes to the system apart from bloatware removal. It's also worth noting that I only have ~30 apps installed on my phone and ~10 of them have the permission to stay active in the background.

Will you give a link to OB26? OB24 is on the official website
With stock settings and a good brightness level say about 60% with settings as Smooth and Extreme you can get a 25% per hour drain at the maximum. Mostly it averages between 20 and 25 per hour. So expect a sot of 4 to 4 and half hours.
Also do consider your battery degradation also to account. My phone is almost 2 years old so it has lost some capacity.

Playing Candy Crush for 22 hours straight can take its toll on your battery (and your marriage). Rate this thread to express how the ASUS ROG Phone II's battery performs under heavy use. A higher rating indicates that it lasts a long time even when playing games, streaming video and audio, and doing other CPU-intensive activities.

3 hours bye bye 6000 mah phone.
Great for all day
Played PUBG yesterday for 2:30 mins. Went from 60% to 29%.
Was using airtriggers, didn't have headphones in. Mobile data, wifi and bluetooth were all on. Was also receiving notifications and calls during the session.
Playing pubg for 2 match and battery drop around 8%
Battery down to 15% after 6hr 44m of Darkness rises set on Auto battle, total SOT 7h28m with 90hz / no wifi and bluetooth off
i'm on custom kernel and get around 9 hours SOT with wifi on, bluetooth off, 120 hz display setting, over 50% brightness and playing games for a few hours then watching youtube for a few hours.
Wow The phone is battery capacity is large
Damn 6,000mah is large, what is the price range of the phone
3 hrs of pubg maxed out in graphics is this normal or not because when it was fresh out of box I can play pubg 5 hrs without charging maxed out in graphics but after Android 10 update battery life ruined up

Thats impossible from 100 to 5% you can play atleast 6 matches Graphics full maxed out with 120hz refresh ratee
Updated to Android 10 latest firmware. I charge 3 times a day from around 30% to 80% every cycle. 2 hours games with X mode on. I don't feel battery life is good on this phone.
It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the OnePlus 7T Pro before depleting the battery.

I have been very happy with battery life so far.
Screen is on 90hz qhd+
90% on wifi
Sot of 7 hours and 5 minutes.
Been of the charger for 15 hours.
Still 16% battery left.
First day of moderate usage with qhd and 90 hz
90 hz fhd betwen 7-8 hours screen on time normal use social media youtube and some light games (except pubg that game is a battery killer ) with quad hd didn't tested yet !
Fourth day with the op7t pro and I've noticed that the screen on time is even worse than on my 3 years old OnePlus 3...
I'm getting 3 to 4 hours of screen on time in normal usage. Google, social media and Netflix/YouTube.
If I start playing games the sot drops below 3 hours
I'll send it back and buy another smartphone. It's not acceptable to have 3 hours of sot for a brand new flagship
have you tried a hard reset in your phone , dark mode , and battery saver as well because 7t pro can do better than that

I have a 6-8 SOT usually (90hz and automatic resolution). Give it some days to stabilize. Battery on first days was bad. Now it's amazing
I average too around 7 hours of sot. Pretty good I would say.
I'm really thinking about giving it a try but SOT is very important to me and no phone has come close to my mate 20 pro this year and I returned every one I tested. But never tried a oneplus so... Wireless charging is really something i would miss for sure so I'm still hesitating. And the mixed results given here don't confort me into buying it...
Display -FHD 90 HZ Brightnes 50% dark mode on
only wifi no sim cards on it used for netflix , youtube facebook , browser and camera

Well... Now it's even worse. I'm getting like 3 hours (of even less) of screen on time.
Automatic resolution, 90Hz, only wifi, 1/3 of brightness, black/dark mode everywhere, only social media and video (yt and Netflix).
I'll send it back. It's unacceptable for a flagship to get under 3 hours of sot. I have to plug in my OnePlus 7t pro 2-3 times a day
Amazing SOT

The only kernel that officially supports the T series is Ex Kernel. However, I'm using Kirisakura Kernel atm without any issues on my 7T Pro.
Poor sot
I get around 5 to 5 and half hours max.
Disappointed as my friend gets 8 to 8 and half hours screen on time. What should I do?

Many threads mention WhatsApp as the culprit. The latest beta should fix the drain.
Whatsapp Beta APKMirror
Im on my first charge 7t pro mclaren. Debloatet it, rooted and now are looking forward to drain it. Charged it to 100% and now im at 98% with screen on time 20minutes but brightness at ~30%
Will post screenshots when its drained
Amazing
55% left.... No charge beetween. Most of the time wifi. Low brightness ~30-50%. Everything blacked (substratum) also Samsung browser dark mode...

I got the Xiaomi Redmi K30 (4G - 6GB+128GB) directly from China through a friend. My very first Xiaomi and boy what an amazing battery this phone has! Coming from Samsung I've been literally blown away. I thought such battery life was always limited to XDA threads and hence this was truly a dream come true lol. And for $250, this has been the cheapest phone I've ever bought. So much value this has to offer.
This is my first charge cycle of the phone.
I am yet to fully move all my apps to the Redmi K30 yet. Only Gmail, other Google apps including Chrome were mainly used with some very light gaming (I'm no gamer). And I uninstalled many of the apps that came with the phone.
Its running MIUI 11.0.3 on Chinese stock ROM. 4G LTE on all day (not connected to WiFi at all). Screen refresh rate set at 120Hz.
Usage was mainly fiddling around with the phone setting it up and installing Google apps, 2 hours of voice calls, 30 mins of videos on YouTube, 15 mins of games. I am yet to drain my battery fully. So halfway through at 50% mark, I have used the phone for over 24 hrs with 4+ SOT.
Stand by drain has been amazing as I've already slept through two nights where battery drained only 1% (!!!) over 6-7 hrs. For me, this battery life is purely insane!
I will post again once I manage to deplete the battery fully.
-- EDIT -- FULL UPDATE
The battery was finally about to die after 2 days! (48 hrs!!!) With 7 hrs of SOT ?
In addition to the above, I further used the camera to take a few pictures, Maps/GPS and more fiddling around.
4G LTE (mobile data not WiFi) was on and connected throughout using a single SIM. Battery Saver mode was not activated as I wanted to see how far it could stretch. Screen refresh rate set at 120Hz.
Drains fast when 120hz but with 60hz amazing battery life, i must say. Even got 9 hours SOT in 60hz with small games and YouTube on speakers.
11 (ELEVEN) hrs of SOT!!!
3rd Charge Cycle -
Screen refresh rate set at 60Hz
4G LTE on all day (not connected to WiFi at all)
2 hrs of YouTube video/music playback
1 hr of voice calls
Connected to Bluetooth earbuds for media
Lot of messaging on WhatsApp
Random browsing
Installing apps
Battery Saver mode was NOT activated
Face Unlock with Raise to Wake enabled
Verdict on SOT range - 7 hrs (120Hz) to 11 hrs (60Hz)
Redmi K30 (stock CN ROM with MIUI 11.0.3)

How to check SOT btw
Sent from my POCO X2 using Tapatalk
OK got it, It's about 7 and half hours.. Not bad I guess.. Use 120 hz.. Though use battery saver and location off.. Data is on most of the time
Sent from my POCO X2 using Tapatalk
10-11 hrs on avg(120hz) or even more
0% battery drain
I dont play any games just normal apps like social apps, spotify, reddit, chrome, etc
I am using pixel experience plus rom(with location and auto sync off)
Coming from Galaxy Note 8, the battery life is really impressive. Im on china rom with google play install. 60hz and on wifi all the time. No games. Just watch some videos and surfing the web. And social media such as whatsapp, instagram and telegram is also used. Planning to switch to xiaomu.eu rom after my bootloader has been unlock which I need to wait for 168 hours.
Edit: since I could not upload the image I will just say it. 23 since last charge with over 7 hours sot with 50% battery left.

in my Poco X2, before i got maximum 4 hours SOT with 120hz, then i uninstalled mi pay, security, credit, music, video, browser, mi drop, mi mover, getapps and signed out from miui...cant believe ...my bluetooth, net, hotspot is always on for my office work...but after that i got 11 hours SOT....i recharged my phone now 2 days back...now i know mi bloatware is the main culprit for battery draining and security

I also did remove all those bloatware except security... I have heard that removing security causes some problem, please comment. Also right now i am getting almost 7 hours of screen of time with video streaming, social media and gaming most of the time
6 month old phone, I'm getting only 4hrs SOT on 120hz and 5hrs on 60hz. I don't game, no heavy use, I've almost tried all custom roms and supee debloating my mi rom, still no profit. Idk how to get better battery life at this point, I used to get 12hrs sot in my op5t
120hz
WiFi(when i was home)
LTE(outside)
Miui 12.0.2.0
30%-50% brightness
i removed almost all bloatware in adb. no power saving turned on, no games, just browsing ,YouTube and Termux
got around 12:30 hrs SOT with 5% left
