So recently it shut off around 50% which I have read others are experiencing but thats not the issue im here about. Since then the flashlight by holding power button has stopped working and the hotspot feature shuts itself off randomly. I also cannot delete any files from the ready to flash folder for some reason ive tried everything I know.

switching file browsers did not work. Flashing stock through and then went back to the latest version of purenexus which was my goal to begin with Cheers. Now viper4 android is broken not detecting busybox fix one thing and another thing breaks.

Here is how to fix viper4arise
Using a file Explorer navigate to /vendor/etc and rename "audio_effects.conf" to "audio_effects.conf.bak", reboot and you should be good.

You could also just use the file manager in TWRP to delete the "ready to flash" folder. Sounds like it's time for a factory reset.

That did it. Last time I installed purenxus I didn't have to do this which confused me. Should probably run through the usual checklist.

I am running 2.2 and I have tried One Click Root and Z4root and a few others but when I try to Reinstall the Packages I keep getting an error. On one blog almost all the comments were from people experiencing the same problem but no one would give them an answer. I am not new to rooting Android phones because I started back when the G1 came out and I have rooted other peoples phones over the years but this phone is pissing me off.
Here is the blog that I was talking about: http://www.intomobile.com/2011/02/02/root-samsung-galaxy-s-captivate-and-vibrant/
EDIT: I finally got it rooted. I want to thank everyone who helped me. I installed the Clockwork Recovery and CM7 + Gapps.

I have the Astro file manager.
Place this file in your internal sd.
http://db.tt/er5nBa0B
Hold your vol up /down and power buttons. When vibrant screen comes up, release the power button but keep holding the vol buttons this will put you in recovery. Hit reinstall packages and it should take you to Red recovery screen, this means all text will be red. It may take a couple of times but once you turn red, you will be rooted.
As always, I am not responsible if you brick your phone and don't forget to hit the thanks button.
Edit : make sure the name of the file is Update.zip no other variations will work. You can change the name to read that in case it reads Update.zip.zip . DO NOT UNZIP.

Hear me out here. I WAS running Franco kernel but went back to stock and also deleted the modified file that he posted that had to be deleted. I rebooted my phone and flashed the stock kernel that is floating around here on the forums. I went to settings to see what kernel I was running and was no longer on Franco. I click to download the OTA and it say that it is verified and downloaded. Click the install and reboot button and a count down starts to happen from 10 till it shows rebooting....and it stays three. I left it there for about 5 mins with nothing happening.
I download the OTA .zip file that's on the forums and try to install it with twrp and get the error 7.
Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do for this?

This is a recently released OTA for Beta users by Lenovo anyone can install this if you are using the stock recovery. For TWRP some mods. should be done to the package.
Link : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4gp1Lef7g4aT3B2N0otQjJZSUU/view
Install method : Just download and rename it to update.zip that's all, keep it in the root directory of the phone and boot into recovery to insatll the update.
P.S. This is not my work, this is directly from Lenovo. So, don't point your fingers at me if you do something wrong Anything you do is on your own and you should face the consequences
Updated using stock recovery by pressing vol+, vol- and power button simultaneously..
Facebook instagram video upload solved.
Camera swipe to gallery lag solve.
Ram management is still same
Sound quality on speaker and headphones increased.
Sudden stopping of music while changing songs using headphone buttons problem solved.
UI is very smooth, no lag, no heat issues.
In my openion you must update.

There is a file called update script in the zip that file needs to be edited using notepad++, there are some lines of code in the starting of that file that needs to be modified. I haven't checked it out yet but I'll try to make a flash able zip for twrp as soon as I'm free.

Welp it is I just used root browser and did what I needed to do there's no space but I just kept doing the same thing over and over again until it finally stuck.
Edit: well it's not sort of? I had to place the files from the module to the module which required going to the root-data-adb folder where all the magisk module stuff is and placing the files there it wouldn't work at first but if you did it enough times it would stick.
