Hi guys, i've little problems with my P9 Lite (VNS-L21).
Firstly, it's FRP locked, i forgot mail and password so i can't add any other account to phone.
Secondly, phone is after factory reset, so i can't access it.
Thirdly, it have locked bootloader.
So i landed with FRP locked device without possibility to disable OEM lock to unlock bootloader to wipe /system. Someone on other forum said that is possible to flash clean stock rom here, but i dunno if it need unlocked bootloader.
I'll be grateful for any help
BTW, phone is on latest version of FW i think (B161) so any method of bypass isn't working.
Did you already tried to install stock ROM with dload method?
Yep, today B161 flashed with dload i think (UPDATE.APP and vol+/vol-) and FRP stayed
Can you boot into stock recovery? You can try to do a factory reset but I don't know if it will help, unfortunately I can't help you more :/
Factory reset only wipes /data so it does nothing :/ I need to flash CLEAN system partition, i heard that FRP is there but i dunno how to do is.
Second way to do it is downgrade, but i don't know how to do it with stock recovery :/

Hi everyone. As an obsessed flasher from my old HTC one 7 i couldnt wait much longer to unlock and root my beloved Nexus 6P.
I have a few questions as i keep seeing the words encrypted and decrypted flying around alot. I understand what encryption is, and what it is there for. What i don't understand is how to know when my phone is encrypted or not. For example, i have unlocked, flashed mod boot img. and then had to factory reset my phone to flash TWRP 2.7.8.1 ( which said decryption not needed) i then installed SuperSU for root. I have read that factory reset can remove decryption... but i have no idea how to check.
Do i need to re-encrypt my device, if so, how do i do this? Will encryption stop root or make TWRP not work properly in regards to flashing and backups.? Can i install custom kernels with a decrypted device or again shall i re-encrypt it?
I also see a screen when entering recovery and rebooting phone "Your device software cannot be checked for corruption, please lock bootloader". Is this normal or have i done something wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help!
so ive managed to find out that the message when in recovery or rebooting is normal for marshmallow. Can anyone help me in terms of the encyrption/decryption issue please?
Hi
I have the Huawei P9 Lite (from south africa)
Model number: HUAWEI VNS-L31
Build number: VNS-L31C185B381
I received the phone with Android Marshmallow and did OTA upgrade to Nougat.
Yesterday I unlocked bootloader and rooted my phone using twrp-3.1.1-0-venus and SuperSU-v2.82 and all went smoothly. I decided to unroot because of issues with banking app. I did a full unroot, but also tried to relock/lock the bootloader, and that's where things went south.
I tried multiple things including trying to flashing the stock ROM (I hope it's the right one) and by following some tutorials online managed to wipe the OS. After multiple stuff I tried I managed to get the phone to boot, but then I only had voice as input method and had none of the Huawei stock apps.
When booting into recovery mode (TWRP), I tried to flash the update.zip I downloaded, but I get error that it can't mount /data and Error code 7.
What I did now was did a complete wipe in TWRP (including OS), extracted the boot.img and system.img from the update.zip and the cust.img from update_full_VNS-L31_hw_meafnaf.zip. I flashed them in fastboot and installed update_data_full_public.zip from TWRP for the Huawei apps (I still got the error that it can't mount /data but it still installed). My phone boots successfully and has the default keyboard and apps enabled again, I thought everything was fixed. When I reached the screen to select security method, after confirming pin/password a second time, it takes me back to the screen where I should choose a security method, not saving my selection. I skipped this to just reach the phone home screen. I enabled developer option, but when clicking on developer options it closes to home screen immediately, so I can't enable USB debugging.
Can someone please help me get my phone into a fully working state (as it was shipped), preferably with bootloader locked (But it's okay if it isn't as that's where my problems started). It is possible that I had wrong versions of ROMs or recovery or something. There is no data I need to preserve, any method to get my phone to it's default working state is what I need. So any help/ links to correct ROMs would be really helpful
Edit:
Even if there is a way for me to just lock the bootloader so that the warranty is back so that I can maybe send it in for replacement

Hi, I am quite new to rooting and mostly followed tutorials. Can you maybe instruct me how to do this or give links to a tutorial/download link?
So I loved this phone long time ago, but after I got a new one, I decided to play with P9 Lite. I installed installed lineage, I had fun for a while, but I decided I want the stock soft once again. During 'rollback', something has happened and possibly bricked the phone. I forgot about it because I had some things to do in life, but now I came back to fix it...but I don't know how. It is still on a bootloop, but I can launch fastboot. I flashed some of twrp's out there, but I still cannot enter any of them. I can't use dload method, because it doesn't work either. Can anyone help me, please?
Try to go into the stock recovery , and if is possible do a cache wipe. Check if the bootloader is locked or not ( because after some operations it may be locked again ) and then try to flash a recovery in recovery and also in the Erecovery partitions.
i have same situation, flashed a lot of twrp, still cant enter none
Return back stock recoveries. I really don't think that TWRP will help you now. With stock recoveries reinstalled, try to flash B160/B161 (depending on if you have dual/single SIM) (you can choose pretty much any stock A6 version, but I think that B160/B161 is the best of all.). After a successful flash, a factory reset should start.. I think that you don't even need an unlocked bootloader or FRP.
NEVER EVER flash the rollback package two times in a row. And also, DO NOT flash Android 7 (B3xx/B5xx). Both of these actions will result in the need of DC Phoenix. Or even into a useless brick.
Okay, so I flashed TWRP onto my Galaxy S8 using Odin and then it said my workspace has been locked due to unauthorised software being installed on the device, so I then went and found my firmware online to flash it onto my device, hoping to bypass my workspace restriction but then found flashing the software factory reset my device, so I lost TWRP recovery. How on Earth do I flash TWRP onto my Samsung Galaxy S8 without being blocked from using my device? I’m a noob at this stuff but have some know how to get this far... Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.. My end goal is to root my phone with Magisk and bypass SecurityNet restrictions on my phone from unlocking my bootloader.

at step 7 from install twrp...
when you are in twrp chose format and format the data to remove encryption.
I also got the message "only official released binaries are allowed" and twrp was gone and replaced by factory recovery

try and start from scratch
find the latest oreo firmware for you
flash it with odin and make sure OEM unlock is enabled
then follow again the guide...make sure you format data after step 7

You can flash with odin original firmware even if you don't have oem unlock.
But, to install twrp and root you NEED to have the oem unlock enabled in the developer settings

Depends, will have to check in download mode, if kg state and/or rmm state is prenormal then you will have to wait.
Om my s8 if i flash firmware i can modify my phone as soon as i connect to the imternet.
The phone is to be sold tonight and i need to get it working quick
It had custom rom, root, unlocked. Needed to get it to factory settings.
It's a VNS L31-C432 Single Sim
So I flashed stock recovery, and oeminfo. Now bootloader locked. Stupid enough, I wiped everything after that.
So I flashed stock rom (dload), but apparently, i flashed dual sim version instead and wrong version as well. both stock rom and oem info. fck me
now stuck on huawei logo.
how can i get it working on stock without unlocking bootloader? and if i have to unlock it, how can i get the unlock code now that huawei doesn't provide it?
also if you're kind enough to provide me with where i can get the correct rom, i would appreciate it a lot
