Using the Lloyds Banking app with root? - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So using the web browser is just getting annoying now and takes too long, and it's been a really long time since Lloyds blocked the app for any rooted device users so has anyone found a method or a way to use the app with a rooted phone yet? Help would be appreciated thanks.

Adblock on non rooted nexus

Currently my nexus is rooted and i am using my go to ad-blocker of adfree.
Now i want to unroot back to stock in order to use sky go... But i dont think i can face life on an internet enabled device without an adblock.
Is there anyway to use an adblocker without root?

i dont think so..
Can't you update the hosts files then unroot? Just root every few weeks to update host files again.

You can try adblock plus. It's like a glorified proxy, all of your Internet usage goes through the app first, which blocks ads before anything loads on your end.
It worked great at first, but lately I've been having trouble getting anything to work with it. A lot of errors acting like I have no Internet connection. I just disable the app and all is fine again. But give it a try, it might work great for you. Not many bad reviews in play store

If you dont plan on staying rooted, why dont you just delete your hosts file and replace it with a symlink to, say, "/data/local/tmp/hosts". Then you can unroot and still be able to update your hosts file.
Firefox Browser app has the Adblock+ add-on for Internet browsing. This hides most ads without root. I also like its master password to protect any stored passwords.

That is only for the Web browser, and rooting and unrooting every week or so might work

I had to disable AdBlock Plus on my nexus 7 because it was blocking some of my websites.

[Q] How to fake unroot?

I'm at a peculiar requirement that my tablet should look like an unrooted device for installation of email client called Mobile Iron.
Ive rooted my Nexus 7 and enjoing lot of super user advantages and i don't wanna unroot it but i need to fake that email client that my device is not rooted.

Gotta love "Enterprise" apps. Ugly, slow, locked down, badly designed, enforces insane policies..
Hi Ashok,
There is a app called Voodoo OTA Root Keeper. This app temporarily unroots your device however it keeps a back-up of your root. When you are done press the button and it restores root access in literally less that 2 seconds. This is mainly used while receiving a OTA update but I think it is applicable to this situation.
Hope this helped.

Out of curiosity, I googled a bit for you.

Does anyone know of any other app that can do this on Android 4.3?
I use 'root enabler'
Edit: still on 4.2.2 though...

There are some things that will allow you to temp unroot while you use apps like that but for a complete work around there is no option. Rooting is seen as a security flaw and that is why banking apps have made it so they dont work if root is detected.

Do you know what I can use to temp unroot my phone?
Have you actually checked whether or not your bank app checks for root?
I use my banking app all the time without any problems on a rooted phone.

Not all apps allow it. My banking app for the federal credit union doesn't allow rooted devices.
As for wanting the app. Check the market for temp unroot

Like others said it depends on the bank.
Since the op is in the UK, im guessing it's barclays i'm pretty sure they are the only uk bank who blocks root users. @Mubz_C you should go to Halifax, it's better

Ha... Even Halifax have said their next update will be an app that won't work on rooted devices, hopefully one of these root cloak apps will suffice as a workaround.

But seriously, I am a Halifax customer and I am pissed at the new update, they have already implemented it so now I can only use there sh*tty mobile ui.
Already tried using a root cloak but it doesn't work

You had to expect it. I mean root is a security issue on devices. Last thing you need is a root app that has a built in Key logger.
Need help.. root cloack+xposed, magisk (hide root) can not help?

There is no way to hide Xposed, u'll have yo disable it. Magisk works well if u don't have Xposed.
Ps: don't know what detection method the bank app u reference uses.

[Q] Annoying pop-up to download gaming app?? Malware or a a new updated??

Since yesterday, I have been getting annoying popups (maybe its malware or soemthing else) on my phone to download games...when i click on it...it takes me to the random game apps on the play store. I am attaching screenshots for some more explanations.
Has anyone else experienced it before? Is this some kind of bug or just a new feature in the update?
THanks.

its caused by an app that you installed. find the app, disable notifications for that app in the phones app settings.
You might be able to use airpush detector to help determine the app that's causing the push adds.

If you are rooted, install adlocker and it will go away. If you are not rooted, then follow what other people have written

Its definitely airpush ad.
Its just an ad. No virus or malware in this, it just get a really annoying.
What I would do since you're not rooted, is uninstall apps one by one until you see which one it it.
Its a hassle but its the only way with out root if air push detector isn't picking it up.

Keeping an app alive when it's backgrounded or when phone locked

Hello everyone..
I'm looking for a way to keep some apps from "hibernating" when they are not in focus or when the phone in locked (It's not an issue with most apps but some apps do this). For example, if I want to only listen to the audio of a video file, I have to keep the app in focus and the phone not locked (screen on) or else the app hibernates. Other apps that uses internet goes offine if the phone is locked.
I remember using a method with my old iphone 3g to multitask that kept the apps from knowing they are backgrounded and kept them on even when the phone is locked. Is there anything that could achieve what I'm looling for here?
Thanks in advance
