I just recently wiped and reflashed my MXPE with the rooted May 1st 6.0 ROM due to some battery issues. Since the reflash, when I do a voice search via my car stereo, the audio from the phone fades in. For example, if I ask for the weather, I don't hear anything until it says "... in philadelphia today" where as I should hear "it is 25 degrees in philadelphia today". Any ideas on why this is happening?
Posted this a few months ago. Had to reset my phone this weekend and now I don't remember how I fixed it! Anyone have any ideas?

How is that going to fix it? I've ever had that checked off. It's not about location at all. It's about the audio fading in when running a voice search through my head unit.

Just a suggestion, I had several odd problems with post-update Bluetooth until I disabled the location scanning.

Gotcha. I have that disabled all the time, so that's not the issue.

I have just received my note 3. When i checked my battery stats, I noticed that the gps is always awake although I had disabled every single location access. Here is the screenshot. Any ideas?

You have to disable one more thing.
Go to: "Settings->Connections->Wi-Fi" and press the Menu button. Click on "Advanced" tab.
There you will find something like "Let/Allow/Permit always to scan" or sth. My phone is not English so i don't know what there originally writes in English but it is something like "Let/Allow/Permit always to scan".
If you UNCHECK this option, your wifi won't be awake all the time, anymore.

Thank you for your help, that option is already unchecked. In fact, the issue is not about wifi. The GPS is awake because of some reason. I could not find why.
Battery drain due to GPS?
I could not find anything about the gps online. Does anyone have any ideas? Why would be the GPS awake all the time although the location services are completely off.
i am not an expert but can it be a false reading? because also it seems your screen is on while your phone is not awake? as i said i am not an expert but that is a condition i never saw on my note 1.
It is a bug with battery stats from my own experience ...The gps is not on but it shows it as on in the battery stats.
Try rebooting the phone. The gps bar will probably stop increasing until you turn it on again.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
problem solved?
Apparently, the reason was "Remote Control". When I turned that off, the gps was finally deactivated. The battery life seems to be better now.

That would make sense as I believe remote control is a security app.
When launched you can track your phones GPS co-ordinates and it sends them to you remotely.
Hence why the GPS would always need to be on?
I think you can still locate the phone via Google. I left the google location service on and the GPS battery drain is not back again. I am very relieved now

Hi, I have the same issue. Can you explain what you did? Is it an option in settings or an app?

When i was using 4.2.2 the wifi timer worked fine, i had it set to come on at a certain time and off, and it worked fine
Since updating to 4.3 i have set the same timer again (as i done a clean install of 4.3) and now every time it gets to the on time, i get a notification saying the wifi timer has started but the wifi it's self doesn't come on, when i look at my short cut tabs at the top the wifi one if off, even after the wifi timer says its started.
is this a known issue?

Hi.
I don't think this a known issue.
I'm using it myself and it works good in 4.2 and 4.3.
Does yr WIFI on yr device working without the timer?
Yes the Wi-Fi is working fine when I put it in myself, the timer just doesn't seem to be working in my phone, when it gets to the on time, I get a notification saying that the timer has come on but when I bring the notification bar down the Wi-Fi isn't turned on.

Strange..
U might want to re-install the firmware again.
Make sure to do clean wipe, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache before reinstalling.
Other that that, some 3rd party apps u had installed might have prevented the WIFI timer to be activated (some apps are poorly made by the developers).
This is all I can I think of.
Hope that this may help u.

thanks for your replies, ive done a bit more testing with it and have found that if i have my phone on when the timer comes on then the wifi does connect, its when the flip case is closed and the phone screen is off it doesnt seem to come on.
also i have also found that everytime the timer comes on i get a security message saying an application attempted to access system on your device, this has been blocked..
the wifi timer is the built in one though and not a 3rd part app, so not sure why thats saying that.

Ok, that is normal when the screen is off, mate..
I read somewhere here that the security message is kinda bug by Samsung...
btw, are u using the original firmware?
If so, u will get that message.
Yes I'm using the original non rooted Rom, when I was 4.2.2 my Wi-Fi would also come on by timer even if the screen was off, that's why I was confused by it not coming on in 4.3
When in 4.2 I was using a rooted version, but decided to go official with 4.3
if i download the original fw and reinstall it with odin, will it wipe my apps / settings or will it keep them the same?

Hey everyone. I'm having trouble getting smart settings to work. I have location and scanning on as well as my settings set up for when I arrive and leave home. It didn't work this morning when I left and didn't work when I got home. Granted I turned on location about 20 minutes from home, but that shouldn't be an issue. Any help would be appreciated.

power toggles conflict?
I had the same problem and finally got it working after uninstalling power toggles (along with turning on notifications from smart settings/LG apps), and then turning off phone and turning back on. I suspect in my case, there was a conflict between the 3rd party app and LG's smart settings.
Same, but Smart Settings runs
I turned on the notification, and I get notifications for both wifi and vibrate-only profile. The wifi actually gets turned off, but the sound profile doesn't switch to vibrate. However, when I return home, it does turn the sounds back on.
Everytime I use my phone there is annoying chromecast pop-up comes from nowhere and it makes my phone unusable. I don't have chromecast it's probably connecting to someone else's. I went in settings I turned off notifications and its still happening.

Hmm, I googled around and it looks like you're not alone. Unfortunately the fix might need to come from Google..
Settings-google-google cast- turn off notifications controls
Seems that we may have that memory leak solved
Yes, must have bug fix as 330Mb download. Updated, all good (no mods)

Anyone else's Bluetooth totally screwed up after update? After update, Bluetooth turns on by itself, won't add new devices, and won't auto connect to devices?

Mine has been pretty flaky as well. It seems to connect most of the time, but if I call with my android auto head unit, even though it says it's using bluetooth, the sound still comes out of the speakers. Sometimes a toggle of the bluetooth switch fixes it, sometimes it needs a reboot. I may factory reset and see if it clears up.

I don't have problem with the Bluetooth.
Using my Sony ch700n without a problem..
Mmm... I'll be waiting for more feedback before applying the update. Hope it's just specific issue with device because I use BT every day...
Still haven't been able to fix Bluetooth issues. First I reset all the network settings. Not fixed. Then I factory reset without restore. No fix. Finally factory reset with restore. No fix. Contacted support last night with no answer yet. Will have to resort to back up phone until there is a solution.

Nope, all good here. How did you take the update, ota or fastboot?
At this point my Bluetooth is behaving normally. All though I never have had any of the previous Bluetooth or wifi issues people have posted about. Totally stock locked bootloader with February update.
As of this Monday Miracast on my PH-1 is totally flakey. Since it uses Bluetooth I guess this is part of the update bug. The problem I'm getting is casting crapping out, for no reason, rotating the phone, or just launching the app that I want to cast. Any possible fixes?

I'm kind of wondering if it has something to do with my Wear OS watch being connected. May have to disable it for a day and see if it makes a difference. Worked perfectly before the update though.
Edit: I played a little. If I turn off Bluetooth on my watch, then pair with my Bluetooth headphones calls work normally, if I connect to the buds while connected to the watch, no-go. Very odd as well is that the watch won't connect then while connected to the buds, once I disconnect them, it connects fine. I'll try with my truck at lunch and see if I can repeat this there.
mine seems do not have the Bluetooth issue.
new update seem to be more aggressive on turning off nfc . in the past, i do not have to wake on phone to 'tap' (as a smart card) on chargepoint ev charger. now i have to at least wake up phone to do so.
i noticed on essential website. the OTA file for February is only Open Market. the others have said Alll. Whats the difference anyone know.
After I have installing the update patch, the usage of battery is a bit faster than before. The sot drop from 4 hours to 2 and a half hours. Is there getting The same issue?
