Rooted.. How to custom fonts? - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hey all... not sure if this has been asked or talked about.. tried searching i might of just been overlooking it tho. Is there a way since we now have rooted phones to add custom fonts of our own choosing?

You would need to use Fontchanger, but why would you want to get rid of Roboto? It's so clean and cool. It defines what Android is.

tekken179:- Can you tell me which font is best suited for Nexus 4??
And how can I get it?

i like ubuntu :good:
in my mediafirefolder is a flashable zip ...
You can either use an app or goto system/fonts, just make sure you keep the file names the same
Personally nothing looks better for me more than the Roboto Slab font from Google Now
Opifico looks good too.

it´s a flashable zip for recovery
you need a custom recovery like CWM or Twrp to install it
try the options mentioned here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011339&page=2
Make sure to take Nand before doing anything.... to avoid boot loop....

check the playstore and there should be apps to be able to change fonts without rooting
read this as well
http://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-change-the-fonts-on-your-android-phone-32078/
safest way to change the fonts is using some 3rd party launcher.....
if u don't want to root and don't want to use 3rd party launcher... and try to use any app to change the font other than launcher,...
u may get into boot loop...so be very careful before doing this....
if you got into boot loop with out rooting... u may brick ur phone.....

what font is everyone using?

im finally getting around to setting up my phone with themes and whatnot and was just curious as to what fonts everyone is using. im looking for one but just wanted to see whats out there
Lol the MOD that has over 250 fonts( or whatever ) has plenty to choose from. I for one like THIN fonts. I find them very appealing

Which rom are you using? If you're using touchwiz, just tap on the file and it'll install. You'll then how select the font in the settings.
If you're using a CM rom, you can use ifont to install it.

AFAIK, no, you can't, by normal means
Either using custom or you can change some values in setting apk maybe, framework? If you don't understand what I'm saying / how to do this, me too, Google is your best friend

You can do it if you are rooted. After you have root you can install an app called Layers on playstore then find a theme for it.

The Team Wings fonts vanish once you change themes via the Samsung Themes app and there is no way to bring them back short of reinstalling the whole thing. Are there any solutions that persist across changing themes?

Seems to be working for me. I downloaded the app and restarted. Opened the display options and under fonts I looked for GoogleSans. Applied the don't and it worked. I also have the wings font pack installed as well. Don't know if that has anything to do with why it worked for me.
Before you can see the new fonts, you will need to enable overlay layers for the APK, either through ADB or Substratum, if you are using the app.
The full instructions are on this thread: I don't use substratum, so I installed them using option 2.
I didn't do anything either... No substratum or adb method. Just installed, rebooted and the fonts are listed.
Thanks for uploading the fonts.

No no, just install the font. Nothing further required. Just a reboot.
Hate Andromeda & substratum, seems to always kill speed for the phone.

Did so and nothing, only the 4 default fonts showing. Do you need to have the default theme active so it works?
Works for me.
I want to use the font in the link. But I can't use it. Please help me with this

Hello, how are you dear G+ friend, yes I couldn't find away to install custom fonts without root, anyway it is the first beta (there a second one ZSK7 but no download link available yet) so let's hope it will be brought back by future updates and Samsung don't block this feature

I got today a new update but the fonts problem still persists unfortunately
Same with the Wings Font packs. Update to 10 means it no longer works.
Hopefully the developers will work on fixing the issue soon.
