Dear all.
I am using samsung galaxy s7 edge. Earlier, i sent my phone to official samsung services center to claim for warranty repair. They have changed my motherboard due to faulty.
Recently. My phone was wiped remotely. I was wondering how possible my phone was wiped.
I check my gmail login sessions. There was no unusual login.
Is it possible that my samsung acccount been hack ? I did not share to anyone on my samsung account.
Is it possible that samsung staff can gain access to wipe my phone remotely ? (I have did a full wiped before sending for repair)
Is it possible to wiped my phone via imei or series number of the phone?
Guys. I need help from your advice. I lost all my data on the phone.
Thank you

I can assume it could be a bug in the firmware.
I don't know if someone can wipe your phone remotely.. and I wonder why should be.

that's what I am thinking also.
And I also wonder the possibility of why someone want to wipe my phone .
If you're suspicious change Samsung account password
If you are using an exchange mail account, then check the server settings with your admin. Same happened to me before.

Do you have a unlock PIN and the wipe option turned on? Screen got activated on my old S6E. This meant the phone thought I was trying to incorrectly unlock and wiped itself after X attempts.

My new Galaxy S2 was stolen on a busride from Sweden to Norway 11.08.2011.
The phone is reported stolen, and three.se has locked it and the simcard.
I'm just wondering if there is any help on recovering the phone.
I had it turned off while I was on the bus due to low battery...so...Is this a lost cause?
www.samsungdive.com
OR
you could call your carrier and ask them to track it if possible.
Best of Luck.
Regards.
If you registered a samsung account use samsung dive. If not get the seriel number off your box and register. It will allow remote tracking and wipe

I was just reading about the Plan B app by Lookout Mobile Security, which can be remotely installed from the Android market if someone switches on the phone and will allow GPS tracking. (You'll have to search for it as the forum won't let me post the link)
Alternatively, if you've previously activated it, you may be able to track it via www(dot)samsungdive(dot)com
[edit] Bit slow in my posting apparently
None of those methods will work if the person has already done a wipe. Your phone is gone forever. Sorry.

Hey guys, i need your help.
First, i'm sorry for my english.
A couple days ago, I bought a Note 3 from a friend, and he never had problems with it, but since i started to use it, it's been always on GPRS/EDGE.
A tried to find a solution on the internet, but i couldn't find it.
I have the right APN's and LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto.
I also noticed that I have a different IMEI on the back of the phone, than the one on the *#06#.
If someone knows the solution, please help me.
Today I did a factory reset, and I could have 3G speeds all day, but now I can only get EDGE.
I have the SM-N9005.
I really need some help.
Same Problem
i've got the same problem but the F\Reset does nothing for me
Have you tried a different SIM? These issues are usually SIM related.
As for the mismatching IMEI, has the device been repaired at aome point? If yes, the IMEI changes when the motherboard is replaced.
(I dont suppose the IMEI starts with 0049?)

If your friend bought phone online than there's a chance it's modified & flashed Super IMEI for unlock region lock, to correct this u need to go service centre who has tools to repair.

Check your network's fair usage policy. Do you download and/or stream a lot using your phone's data? If so, your network might automatically throttled your data connection to edge.
Hey guys, I have a Galaxy S5 that I'm 99% sure is fake. I have uploaded some screenshots of the system and hardware info. Can anyone tell if it's definitely fake? If so, would it be safe to use? I factory reset it to clear any apps or anything that might leak personal information but I don't know if that's enough. I was thinking that the manufacturers of fake phones could hide malicious code deep into the system that could potentially leak my personal information like my email address and password and other passwords I enter online. In the case that they do intend to get my personal info I have a VPN service I pay for, so would connecting to the VPN before doing anything online keep them from being able to get information or could they still have a keylogger that logs my keystrokes and what windows are up when I enter them? Are there any roms I could download for it? Also I tried to boot into download mode like my old S3 and it went to a mode that was all in Korean (or Chinese or whatever). So I mean I pretty much know it's fake :silly: Is there any reason I should be worried? I am also having network issues. I have tried many different APN settings (it's unlocked and I have T-Mobile) but I cannot get anything more than a very poor edge connection. Any ideas?
***As you can see it only has 1GB of internal memory lolololololol

You can be sure for a 100% thats is fake. Yes you should be worried, if there is an issue with your device in the future you won`t have warranty and 0% afterservice, so you`re pretty much on your own and may have to buy another phone.
PS: Don`t flash anything fom the S5 forum or you`ll brick your phone.

Install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app, open Menu > 'Refurbishment Check'. It will tell you exactly if your phone is genuine or a fake one.

I'm not concerned with the warranty. I actually haven't bought it yet but my friend did and she didn't know it was fake. I would buy it for 50 bucks if I can get 4g to work so what would you guys say? I'm doing some investigating to see if it's safe to use with my gmail and other accounts. What would be the best way to ensure that my information doesn't get sent out? I rooted it last night and found a couple forums for fake samsung phone roms but some of the numbers didn't add up. Thanks for your help.
If it is fake then you shouldn't use it. Your information and passwords may leak and there's a possibility that the device may explode.

It started when some scumbag stole my bag which contained my old phone (s5) and wallet etc
My phone had a dodgy battery, smashed screen and inactive sim.
I only had it with me as it still connected to wifi so was a back up if I needed internet.
I'm particularly worried that I had screenshot of bank statements and various other sensitive documents as well as passwords for email etc stored in my notes.
I had a fingerprint lock screen set up as well as a password on private mode (I'm pretty sure I stored some passwords etc in private but not all)
As soon as i realised I called my network and had it blacklisted I then tried to do a remote wipe via device manager but although it showed the handset on the account there wasn't a remote wipe function.
I then changed my passwords for everything I remember having including my Google device manager account.
Unfortunately there was videos/photos of my kids that weren't back up which breaks my heart:crying:
So my main questions are.......
What is the most likely thing a criminal would do with the phone?
Factory reset then sell abroad? Change imei number?
How difficult would it be to hack into the phone to get my data?
Would all of that be too much effort considering the value of the model?
Finally is there any way samsung can wipe the phone for me?
Thanks so much for any help
much love
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy s8 that because of water damage has a screen that is no longer working (blank).
The phone itself is no problem but I would like to retrieve my data.
The phone is locked with a password.
I already tried several apps but they all require me to buy a full version or put the phone in developer mode which I can't do because the screen isn't working.
I also tried unlocking the phone through Samsung find my phone but I can't get it to connect with the phone because I don't think it connected to a network.
anyone an idea how I can fix this problem.
Kind regards,
Jesse Eurlings

to use sidesync you need to download an app on the phone which is not possible due to the blank screen.
Good day.
Try installing SmartSwitch in Windows and try and backup.
