Hi, my father dropped the phone between the car door and the screen has gone black but the phone still boots and turns on.
The problem I'm having is I cannot connect it to a PC to backup as USB Debugging was not enabled before and I cannot touch anything to accept a connection through any program shown in YouTube videos etc.
Is it possible to force-ably enable USB Debugging through my PC so that I can backup the data?
Please if anyone has any method I could try I would greatly appreciate it.

I've ran a backup in recovery mode and am trying to get the backup onto my laptop, in order to restore it to another phone.
The problem I'm having is that the phone is set to connect as a camera when connected via the USB cable, so iPhoto opens when I connect the phone. I actually need a file system browser to open, however the screen on the phone is cracked and it's no longer possible to navigate menu items using the screen, and so I can't change how the phone connects when plugged in via USB.
suggestions?
Cheers

This isn't going to help much (sorry )
but when I was trying to open the file explorer on my PC it wouldn't do it unless Debugging was turned off. And when it was turned on only the camera photo sharing option would work. So for me to get on my phones storage via PC, I had to turn debugging off. Idk if you have it on, but if that is the problem... hate to say it, but you're kinda ****ed. Hope someone will give u a useful answer :/
at least this comment will be a bump
I could be completely wrong though...
Hello,
I have a Galaxy S4 i9505 which boots up normaly but the screen is not starting at all. It felt down to the floor, and the screen is not starting.
I can here all sounds during boot up and if I press the Main button, I can see that back and menu buttons get litghed. Also can receive calls, etc... so it works fine.
At this point, I am not sure if touch screen is also damaged or not...
1. My first attempt was to use Kies. It detects the phone perfectly but it says I have to change connection to MTP. No way to do it as I cannot see anything on the screen.
2. Second attemp. I have bougth a microusb HUB to connect a HDMI cable to my TV and also a mouse, but my tv is not detecting any signal in the HDMI port. (usb powered as well).
3. USB debugging is not activated in the phone, so I think I cannot retrieve any data by using ADB.
I could copy all pictures to my pc, as when I connect the phone to my laptop, it detects multimedia files and I could copy.
Contacts are not sync with Google but stored in the phone, so is there any way to get all contacts somehow?
I hope you can help me.
Thanks
Javier
Without replacing the screen, there's no way I know of to get the contact information off the device, given that you already tried casting the screen to your television.
Hi guys,
So the thing is my Xperia x compact screen went black, it actually drowned... The device seems to bee working, because it connects to PC ant it had a smartwatch connected to it, so i receive email notifications and so on. But the screen is just black, i do not have USB debugging turned on, the device is not rooted.
The biggest issue is that i need the data inside the phone, like my 2fa codes and similar jiberish, which would be a pain it the a*s to recover...
Is there any way what so ever to recover this data? Or maybe is there some way to enable USB debugging remotely? Or is there any way to view the phones screen on pc without usb debugging? I tried adb command lines, but it does not see the device "adb devices" list is empty
Thanks in advance guys
My S8+ had an accident. The device still works but the screen is unreadable and inoperable. I can not unlock my device. There are files on the device that I need to extract. I can't seem to mirror the screen in any way. How can I access the device via PC? If I can unlock the screen I should be able to mirror it. Is there any other way to make a backup? Is there any software I can use to access the device? Is it possible for me to enable USB debugging through any type of command?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I just dropped my S8+ a few days ago.
Same problem Display and Touchscreen won't work properly.
I ordered a USB-C Samsung Multiport adapter.
Connected the adapter to my Phone and TV and hooked up a USB hub with mouse, Keyboard and a USB Flashdrive.
I managed to backup all my important files without ending up paying for a expensive phone repair.
try an otg cable and a mouse/keyboard

Hi,
My Redmi K20 got damaged back panel and front screen stopped working.
Importantly , all notifications are working. Calls are ringing but unable to receive.
The bootlocker is not locked, Developer option isnt enabled etc.
I have Ubuntu.
Please help me in recovering data.
one thing you could try is to connect usb-c usb hub and connect mouse and pc cable. then you could try to click file transfer - I did that on other model and at least I could get photos. also there are PC softwares to mirror phone screen, hut you have to confirm access on phone - also you could try with mouse
