Still a few issues but the priority for now is to get it at a stage where it can be officially added to nightlies which will allow anyone to work on the code and submit fixes through gerrit. It'll be good to finally have everyone working together if they want to

Do you know what issues still are persisting on existing?
Also do you know when first RC will come out?

It should be added to nightlies within the next two weeks I believe. Camera previews aren't working properly. Not sure about other issues.. I'll ask Jacob to post an update.

Not promising anything, but I go away on the 10th of August and would like to have nightlies for you guys before I go, as well as gerrit so others can contribute.

mariogear with some others on the OPO forums have made some nice progress with Ubuntu touch for our OnePlus Ones. If anybody has some dev and build experience, they could always use a hand. It is far from complete but thought I would give a link here to anyone interested in helping out.

The "via the network is quite slow even if you have a good connection." comment fouled me. Its not that slow for many of us.

I am no developer,bit I tried downloading miui repo once. I had great speed but repo was syncing at very very stupendously slow speeds. So yeah,repo sync is slow.

repo sync is slow so imagine how long must be compilation on your hardware...
my laptop first compilation of every rom makes in 5 hours or longer dont remember.. i know loong... i have i5 2.5ghz ssd and 12gb ram

Compilation is faster than first time sync. Compilation is faster after first time too I believe. I read so. I have no first hand experience.

It has been already ported to the Z2, which also shares the same cpu. Those are great news.
Someone with the enough knowledge should be able to bring it to us, or some dev team.
I'd be more than grateful to help as a tester at least.

Looking into it myself. Seems pretty simple... The thing is the One shares the same CPU too, and no one had managed to port it yet... Should be simple though

Same. Tried a while back. No reply. I'm going to try and flash it with a modified script and from there pull a system dump. I'm fairly certain. I can get this to work

I'm trying my best... I've been fighting depression lately and I habeny fell the same way about anything.
Ever been numb before? Its sort of like that. Like your life is a nightmare essentially
I hope to see my projects take off, but it may be awhile before I feel the same.
AOSwellP had repos and I did work on it, and did make a ton of progress, but everyone's disposition that I was copying others work got in the way and I never felt the same way. That said, AOKP has seen an Uber build which I hope makes up for it. I asked if anyone wanted to see a custom AOSParadox kernel and no one did. Never said it would happen. MR will happen, but we can't figure out why it boots to download mode. I don't think Davy, Naman, or I could even guess what's causing it. I'm going to look into it when I feel better.
N on the other hand, should be easy.
I assure you that I am not a troll. Just someone who wants to learn a thing or two. I've spent days working on things coinciding all of my courses. I've been trying. Trust me.
I will stay true to my word, and try my best.
I think another thing all of us get caught up in is that this is just a phone. Could drop it tomorrow and it would be gone.

Is it because of missing sources for development, that all roms have probs in complete support? This was my first and of cause my last xiaomi device. There are other facilities with more open development support. Phone is still great, but policie of xiaomi is not. This is an embarressment and very annoying for us users, who gave their money to those f....ck....g facilities. I am sad. Greets. Ray

Yep, this device was pretty much dead on arrival when it comes to development but it had a few great devs that brought it up to Android 9, something that xiaomi did not want to happen as they ended the Max series.
That being said... even though this device is completely dead and stuck on last year's software, I have a really hard time finding an upgrade to it with android 10 from the factory.
If I want stereo speakers, a giant screen and a giant battery with Android 10 out of the box I need to pay around 1000$ nowadays.
I have my eyes on the redmi note 9 that is rumored to have a Max version along side the normal one and the Pro one and that means giant screen and battery with Android 10 around 300$ to 350$.

Happened from oreo times when all first devs moved to other devices and abandoned max 2 oreo had issues but pie was terrible with alot of bugs until now it is what it is max 2 was unlucky for custom roms so most of us are stuck with nougat miui for bugless experience

Though why doesn't give xiaomi the sources for it's device? I think this would be the right step foreward. With me, they lost a customer for ever. That is what it is. The devs here did a great job.

It is not completely dead.
There are some devs like scissordragonboy who released some ROMs for our device at February. Snekk etc..
Me personally I have not tested them all but in due time

Why dont you join Sanek's telegram group which constantly keep his Pie rom always updated with a huge success that almost totally bugs free and incredibly stable to use as daily driver device.
