USB OTG SUPPORT FOR XOLO Q700s - Xolo Q700, Q700i

Is there anyway to enable USB OTG on XOLO Q700s.
I have tries everything but ultimately failed :
1. tried usb otg helper, troubleshooter, checker etc
2. updated ROM to cynogenmode 12.1 stable
3. tried installing diffferent kernel of different phones. (its hard to find kernels)
When i checked OTG status, it says your phone supports otg but when check OTG connectivity signal it says " results not found, no device mounted"
Pls anyone help me. I want to really enable OTG on my XOLO Q700s device.
Any help of developers, experts is appreciated.

[Q] What wouls cause USB OTG to suddenly stop working?

I'm not really sure what happened but ever since KitKat, my usb otg wires wouldn't work as consistently as before. I chalked it up to having a cheap wire so I didn't mind it. Then I saw the app called OTG Troubleshooter and it tells me the problem is "No USB Device Detected in Linux". How did that happen when I assume all custom kernels and roms support usb otg.
I'm on Carbon ROM with F2FS and mkernel btw...

[Q] Help unroot Galaxy S3 Neo GT-I9301I

Hey everybody,
two days ago I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo GT-I9301I. (DBT Germany, no t-mobile branding)
I read that it supports USB OTG so I can use my phone to backup photos from my camera's memory card to a usb hard drive.
I did that before with an android acer tablet and that worked fine - but in the field a phone is even better when it comes to size.
Anyway, for testing I tried to get a FAT32 USB Stick 8GB to work on the SG S3 Neo and all I got was angry. It didn't work although I read on specification list that it has USB OTG support. OTG cable worked fine with the Acer tablet.
Ok, so I rooted the phone following this Tutorial primehowto.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s3-neo-gt-i9301i-easy-tutorial/. (Sorry but since I'm a new member I'm not allowed to post outside links.)
No problems with it.
With app "USB Host Check" I took care about android.hardware.usb.host.xml and handheld_core_hardware.xml. Now they both are enabled and shown in green.
"USB OTG Helper" for rooted devices should do the rest togehter with ES File Manager.
I even connected the stick via a powered USB hub because without external power the SG S3 Neo again didn't recognize the stick.
Then for a second it seemed to work but the USB stick connected and disconnected every two seconds over and over again.
After all these hours I think I'm just done with this phone.
I want to return it to the store where I purchased it.
BUT there is this system change counter and I wanted to know if anybody tried Triangle Away with the GT-I9301I to reset the counter?
In the rooting tutorial above it was said that "You can always regain it by following proper unroot process (for example, flash official firmware and then use triangle away)."
I found this tutorial theunlockr.com/2014/10/10/how-to-unroot-the-samsung-galaxy-s3-neo-plus/ about unrooting GT-I9301I but it doesn't reset the counter! :crying:
Or maybe I just forgot something? Please help me! Thanks!!
Alex
Where you read it supports otg. It can be fixed on kernel size. Problem.with USB otg is that it isnt outputing power to USB so it isnt powering on. You can buy other otg Cable that can give power to your USB untill we do hack on kernel.
Hi Rox,
thanks for your reply!
I read it here: inside-handy.de/handys/samsung-galaxy-s3-neo/daten
It's a German page put if you go down to USB port section you'll see a green check mark at USB-OTG.
The power problem was same with Acer Android tablet. But there I could manage it by connecting a powered USB hub with OTG cable to the tablet and then connecting an external hard drive PLUS a card reader to the USB hub. That worked. I could move files in all directions.
The thing is with the GT-I9301I that the external storage gets connected and disconnected every two seconds even with external power. That makes it unusable!
So what would you advise me to do? It can be fixed on kernel size?
Can you send me dmesg when that happens ?
Yes, sure. But unfortunately I don't know how to do that properly... Is "Dmesg Log Viewer" app the right choice?
It would be better to downlao dterminal emulator and do :
After you produce bug write in terminal:
Code:
su
dmesg > /sdcard/otg.txt
Then send me otg.txt from your storage
Thanks again Rox for your support!
Meanwhile I installed Triangle Away and its system analysis told me the counter is still on zero!
So I guess I'm going to flash back the stock firmware with Odin and get rid of all customized/modified settings.
At least that's what I read how to proceed unrooting in the article I already posted above.
I just don't want to spend so much time on enabling a feature that other devices have right out of the box.
Hopefully they take it back at the store without any further issues and I can look for a different, more suitable device for me.
Thank you Rox and the whole xda-developers forum! You guys are doing a great job!! :good:
Best, Alex
Other users reportrd that it is working with that extra supply Cable. Can you please send me dmesg for futher fixes ...

[Q] HELP:Nexus 4 with 5.0.1 =>Softkeys prb+No root+No USB connection,only USB charge.
Plz I need your help, I have Nexus 4 with stock Lollipop 5.0.1 without root privileges;
The win8.1 can't find my phone; even though "Computer USB connection" option is set to "media device (MTP)"; and also, if I enable/disable USB Debugging in developers mode, nothing happened.
I tried many cables.
I have also, Softkeys problem, I found an update solution for that; and it's worked for me on another N4, but now I don't have a custom recovery to apply it, I'm on stock recovery.
My only request now is; how to root my phone without pc connection; I tested many solution :
Stump root for LG.
Kingroot 3.4.8
Towelroot v3
without success.
thank you in advance for your answers.

Usb otg not working

please help my usb otg has stopped working suddenly. the option of mount usb storage in settings has also disappeared. Already flashed the stock rom with no luck. kindly help:crying:
try stickmount from the store (needs root), if that doesn't help your cable could be dead.
Change otg cable and try now
Tried with another cable but didn't work. Also used the same cable on s5 and it works correctly
Stickmount does not work

Usb audio issue - dac not working

Hello,
First of all Nice to meet You !!
Lastly I rooted my p9 lite and activated USB OTG. It is possible to plug in pendrive mouse etc and it works fine :good: .
The problem is that I cannot make my portable DAC xDuoo XD05 working with P9 Lite. I tired everything.
When I plug it in there is no reaction I tired different usb option /cables - no result. Apps like USB AUDIO PLAYER give notification that android did not find any devices and probably my device does not support USB host mode. I'm asking You for help as I am totally disoriented what can be done as I'm not expert for sure.. to make a use of DAC / USB AUDIO option.
HUAWEI VNS-L21
EMUI 4.1.1
Android 6.0
This DAC xDuoo XD05 is connected by usb OTG right? The phone may not have the driver to support the DAC, it happens with a lot of device if the phone does not have native usb OTG support.

Hello,
Yes exactly it is connected by usb otg. Maybe it is possible to get and install driver or any other way to make it working? I saw on the forum similiar cases for other phones so I just wonedring if it is possible to make it working on p 9 lite
I don't think it's possible to manually install drivers. Some kernel and custom ROMs are build with every driver available in the kernel source. You may try Veno Kernel but they said that it is not very stable on EMUI.

Ok I will try it. But firstly I need to find some instruction how to do it thx
Take a backup of boot partition on TWRP and flash the zip that you can find in the ROMs&Kernel section of Veno Kernel. If something does not work good you can restore the backup
I have error while flashing unsupported device
I think it's because you are on EMUI 4, it is still not fully supported.
I'm still looking for solution so if anyone has any ideas please share with me
Hello,
Finally I found solution.
I connected Xduoo via usb hub to my p9 lite. Usb audio player pro found my device and it works perfectly now. Please share this tip to anyone having similar issue.
