S7 edge suffers from palm rejection. This is particularly a problem when typing with one hand. Could I get some recommendations for keyboards (if there are any such) which allow (lateral) width adjustments?
Thanks.
I use swiftkey. And it's good with one handed typing

swiftkey
Swiftkey is the only one, apart from stock, that removes the keys from the edges and centers it. There's no setting. It just detects you're using an S7 Edge and moves the keys back from the Edges. See photo:

Thanks, but with Swiftkey and phone in my right hand, when I try to press Q or A, part of my palm touches the return or the backspace key and all hell breaks loose :crying:. I need to find an alternative to the stock which has width adjustment. The issue with the stock is that the space bar is tiny (I am on SM-G9350 Olympic).
If you're having difficulty with using the phone one handed, simply use one hand mode. If enabled in settings, a triple. Press of the home button turns it on.

Keyboard69 unreleased but functional on Play store has configurable width. I recommend giving it a try!
I found Google's Gboard to work best for typing with one hand, after trying the stock keyboard and then Swiftkey.

Hi all,
Is there a way to hide the navigation bar when typing, whether rooted/custom roms or stock? When typing quickly in landscape (with swiftkey) I keep pushing home by accident.
Thanks.
Team EOS just released a stable rom that allows you to hide the navigation bars (holding the power button). It works great but I found using gmd gesture control (recommended in a similar thread) to be much more effective and easy to use. It has lots more options than just hiding the navigation bars. With all the new and programmable gestures I really am beginning to use my nexus differently. Even though it takes a little getting used to.

hiding is easy, but its kind of tiring to do if its just for typing a sentence or two. if youre in for fullscreen browsing it is an option most roms have. i use it mostly for playing games.
another option is phoneUI, which surprisingly works pretty neat, i also like the notificationdropdown better. it makes way in landscape orientation just like on your phone.
another take would be to blow up the keyboard, maybe your fingers like it better. pa can individually change apps, even keyboards to any size or form you want.
yet another option would be the phoneUI keyboard, this is what i use and i find it better to type on. i use it with systemUI set to tabUI so i dont get these fat bottons down there anyway.
Thanks a lot guys, I'm completely stock at the moment but will be rooting soon, especially with this. Just got to sort through which rom I want!
@toid, that looks brilliant, would like to have those other gestures too. Thanks!
So I've rooted now and got the GMD Gestures, loving them! Will be installing Paranoid once it's updated to 4.1.2

Hey. Dont know the Samsung keyboard(never used) but 3/4 screen may be a turned on option like One-Handed input etc.

@Konsstantine34 in the screenshot here you do not have a comma between gear and spacebar, while in the screenshots in the other thread (the one I opened about this comma issue) you do have a comma between gera and spacebar: what's going on?

Yup, saw it. This screenshot taken on another rom. I've got this comma in current one, and I havent changed anything in samsung keyboard. Actually I use Touchpal, and took this screenshot now and it has got comma. Maybe keyboard version is different, dont know.
Does anyone have this enabled?
And if so, do you see the icon at all?
Use to look a little like:

"lightbox_next": "Next",

}
I have not seen the icon appear once since having the feature enabled.
So am just wondering if they removed the icon from appearing because its not needed.
Or its just my device / Module conflicting
I used to have a Galaxy S3 and the icon was there...now on my S7 edge I have it enable and there's no icon.

I have noticed it working.
i.e. Have it disabled and read a news page without touching the phone
and it will lock pretty quick.
Enable the feature and the device does not lock while am reading.
The icon was a nice clarification it was working.
No big problem, one less icon that clutters the nav bar.

No icon here. Anyway the options works fine with good environment light and the phone in vertical position.

I haven't been able to get it to work at all for me. On my old S3 it worked fine for me, but not on the S7 in the same locations and lighting conditions.
I don't believe the S6 had that icon either. I do remember what you're talking about from my Note 10.1 2014 tablet though, along with a notification when it couldn't see your eyes and was about to turn off. The extra notification was a bit annoying, but a little icon to know it sees you would be nice.
I noted that sometimes, I don't know why, the "smart stay" function disable itself. What could it be?

May have inadvertently changed this in additional settings.
Can anyone advise what their default is or conversely what setting give the best result?.
Assuming it’s the setting for the screen (panel)?
However if it’s for the buttons I’m told this unit is fixed orange for the oem mercedes look.
It was trying to second guess that that made me fiddle with the setting [emoji51].
Screen looks nice but my work galaxy phone is more vibrant.
Hence some ill advised touching late at night after fitting it when me and my man flu should have been in bed.
Screen as is.

Here’s some further shots.
Pretty much got to grips with it now, all up and running including my reverse camera
Still have the dull screen though.
Any ideas if it’s a setting, some sort of potentiometer or a loose cable?.
Had good support off the vendor so far so not too concerned just would like it more vibrant and colourful.
Don’t think it’s that rgb setting as that was I think for the buttons
Here it is top is a screen grab, bottom is how it looks with my galaxy next to it to show the difference.
Any ideas?, I saw that the Joying have a potentiometer for screen calibration do these?
It’s a PX5, Erisin/Seicane/Whatever [emoji23][emoji23][emoji51][emoji51]?*

The inbuilt method is still there in Oreo.
Open the Edge panels settings page via the Edge screen settings. Click on Edit under the apps edge panel and you'll get the following screen which gives you the option to set up app pairs:

You need to open edge drawer and then click on Edit option, once other screen opens, there on right side of edge, you'll see Create App Pair option.

yeah, figured that out, just couldn't edit my comment or delete the post.
App pairing on T-Mobile galaxy S7 edge android Oreo 8.0
When you open 2 apps in split view mode you should see an option to add those 2 apps as a pair to your home screen So That's another method to do it!
