I'm using a A2017G axon 7 model, noticed something strange, I can't update from B02 to B05 software. I did download the update package, unzipped the package and put the update.zip in my SD card, but I still can't seem to update. Updates wouldn't detect anything, so I went for forced update aka recovery mode. Enabled OEM unlocking, booted in recovery mode and selected apply update from SD card and file update.zip. however, at 25 percent, it seems to get an sideload error and installation is aborted. I looked around and it looks like I'm the only one with this problem.
It happened to me and I've managed to update it by clearing the cache and formatting via Recovery mode.
Once you boot and setup, check for updates. It should proceed normally.
I've given up on updating it manually since it gave me problems (couldn't make emergency calls. Check if you can make them after you update).

Could explain the steps? I didn't get what you mean.
I have the same issue. Bought the phone from amazon.de and it came with b04
not a single update received OTA. Also formatted and cleaned cache, hasn't made a difference
If you won't be able to solve the problem, you should contact ZTE for that.

Wasted my replacement on a error my local service centre didn't know how to fix... Feel damn wasted
Some people updated/downgraded to B03 and then updated to B05 or higher.
You could try this.
The update which here is published is to update from B06 to B08. That's the reason why.

Try:
_ format your SD card with the phone and put the update.zip file
_ boot your Axon holding the volume up and the power button
_ clear the cache from the option in the menu
_ choose Update from SD card
If this doesn't work, activate the OEM option in the development option in the parameters of the phone, and restart with the volume up/power button.

I didn't have to clear anything when I updated from B06 to B08. But there is an option to clear something and if I'm not wrong, yes it's the cache partition.
The OEM unlocking is also needed for THIS update, not just because it's on the SD card.

BTW, what does clear cache partition do?

Never had to use it but I think if you're having problems updating, it's not a bad idea to clear that cache first

If you downloaded B05 from ZTE support side, you have to unpack it. So you will get the update.zip. update.zip has to be in the root directory of the INTERNAL drive. Do not try to update by recovery.

It should now download the firmware (about 2gb) and flash it - this may take some time.
This is needed if you stuck in a bootloop after the flash is done:
Factory reset (this wipe your data and sdcard):
1. Turn the phone off.
2. Press and hold the Power and Volume down button.
3. When the LG logo pops up let go for a second and press the combo again.
4. You'll be prompted to press the Power button 3 times to wipe the device.
I would hate to have to use this, but wow what a good find. Thanks for contributing.

I know it does'nt wipe data, but it reflashes recovery, and in my case something went wrong. But Lg DO sell D802 as a 16 gb model!
Can anyone using this method please post results. Just wondering if there is more success with this method as opposed to the other method. Thanks.

I don't understand how could this be, you downloaded the specific firmware for your device (using your serial number)...
Can't you just try to flash it again ?

I have reflashed it 5 times The problem was that it asked for some kind of password the first time (not the pin). So I did a factory reset. Now even TWRP says that my storage is 10.66 gb :/

Which password exactly ? when ? in the process of flashing ? the OP mentions no stage in which you need to give password...
What are you going to do now ? your device is not rooted, so you can replace it under warranty, no ?

It did not say what the password was for, just asked for it. It came up after the phone had booted, but before i could see the lockscreen. I will wait a couple of weeks, to check if someone else gets the same problem, or if it is fixable. Otherwise i will hand it in on the warranty since there are not traces of root.

Why should a password appear at that stage ???
If you went through all of the flash process successfully, booted successfully and only then did a factory reset (when you saw that password), I see no reason to blame the factory reset that you did. This is something to do with the flash process. Maybe this is kind of a punishment that LG unleash on those who use this process ? seriously, why on earth would anyone try to flash his LG2, if it wasn't to get rid of root ? I also don't understand how the password went away after you did hard-reset, since the device was "hard-reset" when you did that flash. You said that you re-flashed about 5 times, did that password appear after each of those 5 times ?

Same issue here.
I also got the question after I used the software to enter my encryptionkey. Wich I didnt have.
So I had to hardreset from the recoverymenu (volume down + pwr), then I suddenly had 10.77GB left instead of 26.77GB or something similar.
Annoys me pretty darn much at the time beeing!
I did use my IMEI, not my serialnumber and model. I'll try to use the serial and model this time around, and see if there are any differences at all in doing so.
And yes, it does say 32GB on the back. So we're not mistaken it for a 16GB-model
And it does say that the model is the 32GB when I check the hardware-info on the android itself.
Maybe this has something to do with me using the adbcommand for mounting storage incorrectly?
I thought however it would be reset when I used the LG Mobile Support Tool to hardreset everything though.
Will this work with the AT&T model D800?
Also does this remove all traces of root to the point where you get your warranty back?
what was the solution to this...
Does this work with the TMO versions?
The windows application keeps getting a Windows error and closing shortly after the process begins. Any tips?
I would prob stay away from this if i was anyone else....Because it must be messing people phones up and changing the storage capacity

Does anyone have the img file for lollipop? I don't know why my updates not showing up.
Ok, seems the old CWM from KitKat is working. Also SU 2.46 does.
Sadly no Miracast anymore.
A few games apart from the mentioned ones in the link above won't work too: ARC Redux (more to come)

Do you have any hint where to download a compatiple CWM or stock recovery ?

Greetings,

Problems I can confirm are, cant install or update anything from the play store because of "insufficient space" when I clearly have 2GBs and a 64GB micro SD card, its alot slower and Apex Launcher is now utterly terrible with the new update.
After trying to install it won't boot up. Then I tried to fastboot but I'm getting an error saying target reported max download size of 643825664 bytes error: cannot load 'recovery.img' : No error .
Any ideas
I disabled "Google" so the Shield button does not activate it but still the Game Mapper is not showing up. Thats horrible, dis anyone manage to get back the Game Mapper ?

To enable it open the app / game then hold down the start button until it pops up, If it didn't work then read down...
for me it's working perfectly i think because i flashed it using a computer (or maybe a factory reset should do the trick) if you're going to do it make sure you do a backup in the external sdcard because everything in the internal sdcard will be deleted I'm not responsible for any lost file or any damage, I'm not trying to scare you but I will help you if I can
By the way I disabled "google" and still the gamepad mapper is working fine so "google" has nothing to do with.
How did you guys use a computer to flash it? Sis they release the img? I would like to flash it with my computer because I still haven't received the ota.

Did they release the img? How did u flash it with a computer, please help me because I didn't receive the ota and ima fan of lollipop.
All of these have been brought up on the Nvidia forums, so yes, they can be confirmed. I would like to add, that the volume changes dynamically depending on the sound being played In some games and emulators, I noticed that the sound would get quieter and louder without touching anything. I had Virtua Racing for 32x running in Retroarch and the volume dropped and raised in the same places during the demo mode every time, like it was done on purpose.
Is it just me, or does it seem like Nvidia is trying to de-Nvidia the Portable?

Flashing TWRP custom recovery and then using its file manager to delete the wondershare apk from the phone might help.
Also, files from the internal memory cannot be recovered if deleted. They can, but the process seems to be more complicated than just using an app. That's the way android is.

The key combo for recovery is volume up, power button and home button.
TWRP has install instructions on their site. There are other, simpler, methods. Like the Odin method.

That was the stock recovery.
Anyway, deleted stuff from the internal memory cannot be recovered as easily as from the sdcard.
From now on maybe use Google Photos. It has an auto-backup feature that can backup photos to the cloud.
You have unlimited storage space for photos up to 16 megapixels. Just make sure to select "High Quality" in the settings.
So yeah, I messed up big time.
I don't know what to do anymore, I tried a normal factory reset, didn't work.

Did you manage to get your 1st sim back to work?
Have u tried flashing a full .Zip that also contains the modem BLOB? Like the B09 zip
Gesendet von meinem ZTE A2017G mit Tapatalk
So yeah I managed to get it to work again, forgot to update the thread.
I zeroed the modemst1 partition with a dd as only my first sim tray was affected and after a reboot the problem was fixed.
Flashing a full zip didn't work, the partition was damaged and by zeroing it out, the modem hardware regenerated it.
Thanks for the concern!
Hello, can you please explain in steps what you did to fix it? I did the same thing by accident and now I have no connection to the carrier of the sim
No prob.
Save your EFS partition via TWRP beforehand.
Connect your phone to your PC and go to an APB window
Then type:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/modemst1
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/modemst2
That fixed for me. To be sure your IMEI are still there right?
Cause if you don't have your IMEI anymore I'm quite sure you're in bad luck because that method won't fix your IMEI but it will fix the baseband.
Thank you very much, i fixed it! First i unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP, then i typed these commands in the TWRP advanced/terminal and they worked like a charm. Thanks again
You were fast!
No problem I've been here before, feels good to be able to help!
Hello.
I did the same thing :-/ went to secret menu with some code which I found ... and chose USA BAND. Now, I don't have 2G/3G on SIM1 slot.
LTE (4G) seems to work.
I moved my SIM-card in SLOT 2 and there I have 2G/3G/4G. But, in that second slot I use SD-CARD so I want to fix my first slot.
Is there any easy way to fix that?
I am on stock A2017G v.B10, no root, no twrp, and I don't want to lose my warranty
Thanks in advance for any help or info.

October Security Update just released today.
Official 2020, October, MiA2 Stock fastboot ROM image V11.0.15.0.QDIMIXM link in appropriate thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83773363&postcount=144
CAPTCHA:
After clean fastboot flashing of this version with flash_all_except_data -> rebooting phone forces to stock recovery and requests factory reset.
Seems like after installing OTA possible behaviours are: either the same request for reset, or bootloop.
Reflashed back V11.0.14.0.QDIMIXM in order to make data backup

nice! thanks for this!
Tried to apply update from OTA and my device failed to start, tried again and same result. Anyone else facing the same problem?
Tonight I'll try to flash full image directly.
Yes, the update seems buggy.
Even my phone was not able to start after the update.
Tried multiple times. Eventually had to factory reset it ?

same here, now I'll try to flash V11.0.14.0.QDIMIXM and let's see...
*update1*
It worked, I did flash_all_except_data and at first reboot it went to recovery and it showed up the same message saying that data may be corrupt but when I tried to boot it again it worked fine... now I'll backup everything and let's see if it works well at every reboot.
*update2*
everything fine running V11.0.14.0.QDIMIXM
So this is yet another botched update to skip, got it.
Thank you, brave ones who are willing to update first.
I'm just too afraid to update this device nowadays.
I had to reset device after last update this is really worst device support I had
For those who have reverted to V11.0.14.0.QDIMIXM, you don't have any bootloop on androidone screen?
My wife did the update, so I reverted to V11.0.14.0.QDIMIXM with flash_all_except_data but for now it still bootloop
updated successfully. there are no visible improvements

I tried unsuccessfully to reboot, Everytime showed this message, finally I accepted to erase the phone and let download the backup, I lost some downloaded stuff I may download again later.
It's an Shane this happening to Android one devices, suddenly we got from special to second class citizens
I had the same problem, which was solved for me by going into fastboot and issuing a fastboot boot recovery which for some reason returned by phone to a working state with an update failed notification. will skip this one

Hi,
All I did was go into fastboot using the power and volume shortcut, and than I connected the device to my laptop and issued the command:
fastboot reboot recovery
(naturally using the SDK Platform tools)
After that, the phone started working again. Although there is no reasonable reason it should have worked. I was surprised enough so that I decided to take the effort to create an account here and share this for others. But again, maybe it was pure luck, YMMV.
Will be crossing my fingers for you.
I've tried to update and got the "Can't load Android system. Your data may be corrupt" messege. Tried again a few times, until the phone reverted back to the previous version and said it couldn't install the update. No October update for me. =(
