Sorry about my english , i'm french and I'm not good in english .
I post here, because I do not have a French community for Android Head unit .
I was bought an Head unit on aliexpress,i bought head unit for spotify and waze or google maps .
and when i try to root it , the front panel control stopping to work .
So i flash headunit with rom , but i no look the version in setting ...
I think is MTCD , because it's RK3188 cpu , and i only success to install a " Dupdate.img " , " update.img" can't installing , but i'm not sure about that ... Name of the motherboard is MTC_RK3188_REV0.3 2015-09-24 .
But is not my problem , my problem it's i try lot of rom , like original , Malaysk rom , jy rom .
Is it always the same issue , the head unit freeze and are very very very slow , google maps can't work because i crashes , Spotify and waze a so slow who i can't use , some time spotify music stoping 3-4 sec like a overload of cpu , but is only app open ! I do antutu test : 23000 , but app like spotify boot in some time 1min !
I realised movie , but i can't post it because i not post enough ...
I'm sorry if the subject is treat.I have trouble searching because I do not have technical vocabulary.

Maybe it will be helpful if you upload screenshot of your system information. (CPU, MCU, etc,.)
He most likely bought a MTCD_KD HeadUnit. There is a French board of Peugeot enthusiasts with a guy promoting this unit.
It's true that the unit fits nicely in the car, but no one on the thread talks about the unit being slow as hell.
Not talking about new Intel 2Gb MTCD boards (because I never had one) MTCD unit is a complete failure, they never should have pushed Android 5.1.1 to the RK3188, and 1Gb ram is just not enough. I suggest sticking with MTCB Android 4.4 units.
@theo59310 your chance of getting the best out of your HU is the latest stock JY. You can get some improvements by tweaking the CPU governor to 1.6Ghz. You can also look at da_anton Rom over here

NOTHING will EVER run well on an RK3188. That chip is a complete piece of trash.
If you can, try to SELL that head unit, and replace it with one of the newer Intel/2GB units, like a Joying JY-UL128N2. These newer units work VERY well. Fast and reasonably stable.
Is any 2GB unit will be good? When I bought my unit, I tough 4core and 1GO would be enough for basic use. But no, it's slow. Also, it works bad when it's +30°C or -30°C and it need 1 minute to start! Welcome in 1995.
it's probably a very old PX3 (rk3188)
choose a PX5+4Go Ram it's better.

Is it possible to replace the PX3 by a PX5 without replacing the entire unit?
If you are able to confirm your unit has a PX3 coreboard (you can check that in settings>about this unit see if Model name starts with PX3). Then yes, it is possible to replace the coreboard only. It's the size of a credit card, doesn't require much skills besides using a screwdriver, and can be bought at roughly 80€. Just search for PX5 coreboard in your fav chinese etailer

It states that it is a RK3088 unit, although it must be RK3166 if it's quad-core, right?

I note that the XDA repository doesn't include firmware updates for this MCU - does this mean that I won't ever be able to update the firmware? Would the custom ones (Masaryk?) work on this MCU?
I've also read that the microphone is pants, which is why every seller is including some-kind of an external one, in this case a bluetooth one. How does a microphone like that get powered? Is it a difficult to get power to it when installing?

Erisin have very bad reviews, seems that their devices are quickly dying and they don't provide support and it seems that the FM reception is not that good. Joying are well supported but I read that the audio amplifier is not that good, Ownice and Pumpkin are popular but I do not know much (not sure about the components)
I like my C500 octacore 2GB so far. Very fast and everything I want is working fine.
All the apps I've tried so far are working great including the ones you mention above.

Hello everyone. I received an updated Firmware directly from seicane for their head unit. This is Android 10 update for the 2/32 GB unit. Everything seems to be working great so far on unit. If you would like to try it for yourself please feel free to download and install. I'm not too tech savvy so if you have any questions I'll answer them the best I can. Thought I would share for anyone to update their own unit if possible

Hi guys im thinking of buying a new android headunit for my Astra GTC and came across this one TEYES TPRO i really like the way this unit UI looks and everything but it doesent have an external microphone port and no Carplay i have spoken to the seller if they planing to upgrade that unit but they dont .
Question is if i buy a diffrent unit can i flash TEYES T PRO firmware into it ? If not can i replace all the apps and launchers to make the UI look same ?TESLA UNIT
I literally spend whole day reaserching the internet and coulndt find much informations about any new launchers or diffrent softwares for these units .
I previously been using a PX5 unit and there was plenty of diffrent softwares etc .

I've registered at 4PDA forum to get some information about software but I can't find too much info about this unit..Any experience with this kind of software? I get used to the PX5 units so now I'm completty lost about this new chipset.....MCU...

hey. i know its an old thread but I ve got the bosion HU.., already followed the almost dead thread at 4PDA Forum also. This head unit is crap, honestly spoken, do you have an idea if there are alterntive firmwares maybe from other manufactures that would work with the boison units? my BT calling feature stopped working after last update what has been talked about at 4PDA also. In addition I do not like much the apprearnce of the start-screen and many other minor issues too... now I am in hope that somebody has found a good working alternatively firmware file that is way better than the boison one? sorry for my bad english..

I've just purchased this ac8257 b200 unit and I'm NOT loving it. My px5 with frequent wifi dropouts is preferable.
Does anyone else have an issue with the accessibility downloaded services being disabled after a short period? I've added the apps to be excluded from Battery optimisation and ensured battery saver is off and even made the apps device admins if the app can be but within an hour the services are disabled.
Also, Google voice typing seems to be like the old android 6 version with the big grey rectangle covering the lower half of the screen while listening for voice input and if it fails because the internal mic is crap I can't get it to cancel to go back to the keyboard. I usually have to exit the app and relaunch it.
UPDATE: Apparently Duraspeed is a separate task manager/battery optimisation app that comes with these units. I've now tried turning that off as well as enabling it and adding the apps as exclusions and the downloaded services are still disabled after a short period.
Google Maps also runs much slower than my previous 4Gb px5 unit.
