I'm sick of waiting for firmware updates for official EE firmware, BTU has had 2 since EE's firmware was last updated and that's not including the Nougat beta updates.
Has anyone got VoLTE working on EE using BTU firmware?
Works on Nougat beta, BTU, UK EE, wifi calling too

In the latest beta volte does not work. Samsung disabled it becuase ee does not want people with unbranded phones or phones which have not been purchased from them directly to have the volte feature.

Really? That's disgusting behaviour on behalf of EE. When the S8 comes out i'll only be one year into a two year contract so will probably end up buying it outright in which case it will be unbranded and if I can't use VoLTE i'll be seriously pissed off.

I'll be in the same boat. I always buy my phones outright and use a sim only contract I hope EE change their decision because in the week I had volte available to me in the android n beta it made a huge difference. The call was clearer and I could still search the web at full 4g Speed.
I assume right now, if you flash the s7 edge within EE firmware from sam mobile volte works fine ?
I'm on btu right now, tried the nougat beta and on beta 2 volte works fine on EE, but since beta 3 and beta 4 they stopped it.
So I'm thinking of flashing EE firmware.
I use BTU firmware with my original EE CSC and I have VoLTE working fine
How can you check it's working Fine? I got my phone from carphone warehouse. Sim free and no volte settings?
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
You need to have the EE firmware installed as far as I can tell. Only devices purchased directly from EE have the feature available.

can you flash from BTU to EE firmware and have it working?
OK I know it's taken a while, but for no reason and without me changing any settings, a VOLTE icon has just appeared on my top notification bar. I am running BTU which was flashed when I first bought the phone (SM-G935FD model) CSC changed as well, had a few OTA updates including the Nougat 7.0 January Security Build. I am on EE btw. I still can't find any settings to switch it on or off, but at least I have it now.

I believe since you're flashing official firmware, it won't be tripped. I bought an S6 from Germany and flashed with 3 UK firmware and can confirm my KNOX counter hasn't tripped.

I've skimmed through the tutorial video and it doesn't seem to have tripped Knox.
I'm looking to switch my s6 from TEL (Telstra AU) to XSA (Open AU).
Has anyone else tried to do this?

Can't find firmware for US
I'm on a T-Mobile Galaxy S6 right now. I want to follow your tutorial, even if I am in the US should I use the UK firmware model you used in the video? Is there a special international unlocked firmware for the US version (like there is one for Spain, for UK, etc).
Also, if the UK model will work on my T-Mobile phone in the US, will I suffer battery hits because the phone will be looking for UK bands or will it recognize that I'm in the US and will only look for the US bands? Thanks!!

It would look for bands based on the SIM I believe, but whether you can flash another region ROM is questionable. I thought there was something to prevent that, but I'm new to Samsung. I'm also curious if this will work. If it does, I'll just purchase an AT&T version as opposed to an unlocked one and then use this process.

Well the BTU model has always meant internationally unlocked in terms of Samsung devices, so hopefully this will work. I'm trying to flash it on my T-Mobile device and then rooting it. Does anybody have any idea how to change the model number of the phone to BTU as well so I can get OTA updates?
@madscientistdam
Looks like there is another BTU build added to the sammobile site wonder if anyone will receive a ota?
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G920F/BTU/
Received an ota this morning guys, and it was the new build I posted above this post.
Just did this to my Vodafone AU S6 and it worked a treat. Also got an OTA update after a couple of reboots. Knox is still intact. Should work for other Aussie telco phones. Fixed my random freeze's and reboots that where happening flat out at one stage.
*Update- still getting random lockups, even after setting up as a new phone (using no backup). Flash went fine though...
Question. Would this be good for an Ireland Three carrier S6?
Cheers!
Debrand an American S6 Edge (Verizon) for use in Germany
Hi!
You write in your video tutorial that you don’t suggest it for American smartphones. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge from America (Verizon branded, firmware: G925VVRU4BOG9) and want to use it in Germany. So far, I have some annoying limitations (I can’t send text messages and I can’t roam). Do you – or anyone else reading this – have a hint or even a little tutorial for me? I’m so annoyed as neither Samsung nor Verizon or my German SIM card provider FONIC offers me support. The phone was a present from an American friend. So I’m not the original customer. I guess that’s one reason they don’t help. Whatever: I’ll appreciate your help! Thanks…

And a hard brick is exactly what I don’t want to risk…
this I assume only works on the International 920F version of these phone, you can flash most any region on these (hence international is your first clue), this does not however work on the (American Carrier) branded phones like Sprint, ATT, Verizon, US Cellular ect ect , these are I am told firmware specific, I tried flashing T-Mobile firmware on a sprint phone and brick city, I mean even sprint could not get it back up flashing sprint firmware with their jig... so beware. U.S. Based Carriers got you under their thumb.

I currently own the Galaxy S7 edge UK (unlocked) unbranded handset, however my network is with Three. Supposedly you need to have bought the handset from them to have 4G Super-Voice (VoLTE/HD-Voice) enabled, so I'm wondering if anyone can help me source the firmware. I'm sure this will be useful to anyone else on the Three network with an unbranded handset.

Do you know what csc code they use?

Just download the app from playstore

I'm trying to do the same thing. Have you managed to get it workking. I found the following three firmware: H3G-G925FXXU3QOLD-20160111115713.zip
Latest BTU firmware has it as default (3 sim on unbranded S7 Edge).
Use the Samfirm tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647).
1. Set "Model" as SM-G935F and "Region" as BTU.
2. Check "decrypt automatically".
3. Extract the decrypted file with WinRar or similar, then use odin to flash.

No need to lock will stay default unless it auto changes by itself but for me its okay and 4G voice works fine as default like on all devices
There is no need to flash H3G firmware any more. I have returned back to stock unbranded volTE works.
Just use smartswitch to revert back to stock firmware!
Sorry for the bump but does anyone know what settings were changed on the S7 root directory to allow unbranded devices to connect? I looking at modifying the files myself for the 6P as Three don't seem to be taking the rollout seriously for unbranded devices - so far the only thing I've found that relates to H3G is the mcfg_sw.mbn that states "No VoLTE" within, though the Swedish H3G configuration allows VoLTE, so I'm going to try modifying that unless anyone around has any ideas?
I've got a three s7edge couldn't get volte to work ended up flashing btu firmware and there is it listed in Network and it's working when there is no coverage as I get a volte displayed along with the empty signal bars
Didn't trip knox and warranty intack

I want to know whether 935w8 supports VOLTE service or not? And if it does supports, then ehat is the procedure to so.

VoLTE will work only if jio networks provides configurations for W8 variants. Better go to Jio office and put on a request. They can only solve your problem.

The G935W8 probably does support VoLTE in Canada, but it won't in other countries due to the lack of an Indian CSC for the W8 variant.

It'd be impossible to get one, because Samsung would never allow it.
You could try exchanging your phone for a G935F/FD and flash the Indian firmware on that to get VoLTE.
Although you'd lose some money, you'd get VoLTE and the ability to get Indian software updates.

Hi, I bought a Galaxy S7 edge sm-g935a, and I'm using it here in Japan with other network. I'm just wondering why everytime I check for an update, it always says I'm on the latest firmware even when I'm like 3 or 4 versions behind. Even when I connect it to smart switch it also says I'm on the latest firmware too, and when I try to click on firmware upgrade and device initialization, it says "Galaxy S7 Edge does not support initializing, please contact customer support". What should I do to get OTA updates? Thanks
AT&T phones will not receive OTA updates if you're not on the AT&T network. You have to manually flash them. You could keep downloading the latest firmware and flash it, or you could download the U firmware, which will receive updates regardless of carrier.

My S7 edge won't update either. I seem to be stuck on the May 2017 security update (Build # G935AUCS4BQE1). I bought my phone from swappa.com last month. The seller had it listed in the AT&T section as the SM-935A. I can use it for the most part without any issues (no Wi-Fi calling, not recognized on the AT&T network). When I check the IMEI # with Samsung, they show it listed for Sprint. Any suggestions of what I should do? I know one option is to flash the 935U firmware.
Thanks in advance.

All US (Snapdragon) based S7 Edges are physically identical, so you can run AT&T firmware on a Sprint S7E and vice-versa. However, AT&T is well known for disabling features based on IMEI, which it appears they are doing for WiFi calling. Unfortunately, it appears someone converted a device that started life on Sprint, so unfortunately you may be out of luck. The only way to fix the problem that I am aware of is to temporarily switch your SIM out for an actual AT&T device (whose IMEI is recognized), and that supports WiFi calling and VoLTE, then put the SIM back in your converted S7 Edge.
Converting to U will definitely make the phone a LOT faster (and the battery last longer), but you are giving up on any carrier features period at that point. I personally felt that the performance and battery features were a lot more important to me than WiFi calling or VoLTE and I switched to U a while ago. I haven't looked back, but that's just me.
Thanks jshamlet. I did a chat with Samsung and they confirmed that my phone was originally setup for Sprint and that it has been unlocked. My fiancee has an AT&T branded S7 Edge, so I can try putting my SIM in her phone for a bit. Converting to the U is something I'll seriously consider. I had an unlocked Moto X Pure Edition, so I'm used to not having the Wi-Fi calling or VoLTE.
I ended up using Odin to flash the SM-G935U firmware to my phone. Once that was finished, it downloaded and installed the April - August security updates, so I'm happy now. Also, no AT&T bloatware.
Here are the Firmware updates for the ATT 935A.

Does anyone know if I were to flash the latest Germany T-Mobile firmware (DTM) from Sammobile, would that enable VoLTE, WiFi Calling here in the US?
Currently my G950F S8 has the Australian (XSA) firmware installed and it doesn't have VoLTE or WiFi Calling.
The WiFi Calling setting in Quick Tile is greyed out.
When I ordered the phone in June 2017 it came with the Panama firmware on it. I was on AT&T back then and I flashed it to the Australian firmware so I could get Samsung Pay to work.
But Samsung Pay Australia wouldn't let me put in all my CC's, so I just use Google Pay now and I don't really care about Samsung Pay anymore.
Now that I'm on T-Mobile since March 2019, I feel that it's more important to get VoLTE and WiFi calling to work and since there are T-Mobile firmware's on Sammobile, I thought that maybe flashing to the German, Czech, or Polish T-Mobile firmware might fix things up. Hopefully someone out there has experimented with this and could give me some feedback.

If you are rooted, you can always flash a custom rom and then the ATT & TMO detonator.
I flashed HadesROM and chose TMO as my CSC. I am using wifi calling with TMO in the USA.
I am sure you can do something similar for TMO in Germany.
Other option is to use any other custom rom and then use the detonator package to change your CSC. Not 100% sure the detonator package will work with stock. You need to be rooted though.
