Samsung A5 2016 Sim unlock - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi guys, phone came from Italy and have Sim-lock, i flash it with Odin for Ukrainian 4 file official framework but still sim-lock,i check all service code, and codes (0000 , 00000000) for unlock this but its doesnt work, pls help me find a solution of this problem,P.S. i have root so i can maybe check code in phone hardware but where pls help, thanks

I understand that the 'lock' in your phone is company related. Surely you need a sim unlock code for that, there's lot of pages where you can pay for that. Even maybe your actual provider could unlock it for free, you should check that. As far as I know, the sim-lock codes aren't removable with a software updating (odin, firmware, etc.).

Here is what HTC have to say RE Hard RESET and SIM Re-Locking .... for HD2

Dear all,
I simple question to HTC, (1) if they could provide me with an unlock code and (2) if a ROM update with an unlocked phone would void the warranty.... Funnily enough I got this reply... out of point I know.... but it led me to realise something else....Read on ...
Dear Sir
, Thank you for contacting us. In regards to the Rom and unlocking, I can help you with that. The unlocking code will only let you use another sim card in the device for calls and texts, the software on the device will still remain. As the device is branded the original software cannot be removed. If you do a hard reset on the device has been unlocked the code will not work again and phone will be once again locked to the network provider. Thank you for contacting HTC. Best regards, HTC Support

I looked up the internet and did not find sufficient proof that indicates if the above is correct or not.... I guess they are not saying the truth ... So question is this... If the phone requires a hard reset ... and it has HSPL/2 right now on it ... Would this mean that the Sim Lock will be back? And the unlock code which I put in will be no longer valid? Personally I find all this a big load of crap .... Because if the IMEI does not change ... and the code is created via the IMEI ... I don't think it makes sense to say that the "unlock code will not work again and the Phone will be locked". But before I jump to any conclusions, I would like to hear the opinion of the clever guys out there ...
This email was interesting .... I wonder what's up in HTC's customer supports' minds ...
Regards
Al
I guess HTC is only talking and can only talk about default ROMs, not custom roms, if you have hspl your device you will no longer get support from htc.... anyways, HSPL is not the same as sim unlocking your device, check the wiki pages.
I didn't make myself clear that must be it.....

I guess you didn't understand me .... I know that sim unlocking is not the same. The thing that bothered me was whether HTC is saying the truth aka
"Is it true that HARD RESETTING would make you LOSE the sim unlock code and it would never work again? Yes or no?"

Many Thanks again for your answer
once u unlock ur device to be used on another network and u change the radio or rom the device will still continue to be unlocked... i hav 2 devices 1 is the hd the other is the hd2 and both are unlocked and hav different roms and radios
I have a question regarding this too.
I've heard that TMobile US has a separate IMEI number than the one on the device on the back.
Is this true?
Now for unlocking it has been suggested that you get it from T-Mobile. If you don't, it will most likely fail to unlock.
Is that true?
And finally has anyone that unlocked their phone directly from T-Mobile hard- resetted their HD2?
if you bought the hd2 from Tmob "outright"..they will provide the unlock code
I have the Tmob provide code for my hd2, yes it worked and still worked after a hard reset

I do have one final one. How long did it take for T-Mobile to get the code for you?

I DID not get my unlock code from T mobile directly. They said its a genuine unlock code ... but i did not attempt a hard reset yet. Is this hoax true????? That if you HARD RESET your phone your UNLOCK code is gone YES OR NO? I seem like i cannot get the message through .... Anyone HARD RESET his phone and got it sim locked again? And anyway it does not make sense to say that the unlock code wont work anymore because the IMEI remains the same ... so this is not really sounding like a true statement from htc .....but i want to hear of somebody who hard reset his phone and got his t mobile unlock code not through t mobile to make sure...... I will ask the people who helped me out with the unlock service and will get back to everyone with a confirmation ....
As for the other guy who said that T mobile have got a separate IMEI .... the answer is NO. They all have ONE IMEI.... the only thing I can confirm to you is that T mobile CHANGES the Unlock codes to a system of their own, hence a genuine htc unlock code WON't work on ANY T mobile flashed device...... and there is no need to get the unlock code from t mobile ... it would take you like 3 months if u ain't got a contract + they will force you to do a contract for a minimum period of 90 days.... a Huge f**k up considering that you might not even be on t mobile or worse still not even in the country . ....
There are good services out there ... mine took exactly 9 hours to get unlocked......from time of payment
Many Thanks
oops.. wrong forum
Yeah, the reply you got made no sense... unlocking the phone out of a preset carrier is relative to the IMEI of that phone and not on the software status installed on there... as if a carrier was able to determine os/version of your phone upon connection and forbid access if they notice (?) you did a hard reset
Please help

Does that mean after u did the hard reset; the phone was locked again and u had to re-enter the unlock code??
I'm asking about that coz i bought my TMOUS HD2 already unlocked but the seller did not provide me with the unlock code!!
Does that mean that i have to buy the code to use it if i hard reset the device???
Plz help!!
no, once unlocked it will stay unlocked.
Glad
Glad to hear that!! No need to spend more money then!!
Thanx mate!!

[Q] Hero stacked at First-Time Setup..!

Hi guys,
I need some help as i've not been able to find anything searching around.
I have a T-Mobile HTC hero from my study abroad in England, then i want on to by an unlocked x10, and had left my hero apart. Now i was trying to unlock it to give as a gift to my brother, but after hard resetting i''m left at the First-Time Setup,
it is asking about the sim, but no other then the T-Mobile sim (which i dont own now) will work.
Can anybody please tell me how ca I get past this and manage to root my phone?
Well, you could follow through with your plan and unlock the phone. Then just follow through the setup with another SIM, then root. You don't need to root to unlock a phone.
First thank you for the quick reply.
but the problem is that with another sim, it just says Sim Locked, no setup no nothing,
while without any, it says please insert a sim
As said above, rooting won't help you unlock.
I've got a t-mobile hero here, and I unlocked it. Basically, you get the IMEI number, and you buy a code to unlock based on that IMEI.
You usually enter this code where it says SIM locked. I'm sure a little button appeared for me which let me enter my unlocking code.
But you can't do much without a SIM in the phone.
You can root without a SIM, normally, depending on what version of the ROM you are using
Well,
Isnt it that, if i manage to install a custom rom, my phone will be unlocked?
It is what i have been doing in WindowsMobile era.!

Nah, unfortunately not. The baseband is the part that gets unlocked, and no amount of flashing custom ROMs, updating radios etc will unlock it.
Buy a code and use it
That's my recommendation. I paid £6.75 roughly for mine on ebay. A lot will do it instantly when the seller is online. Just get someone who has huge positive feedback.
thank you
now i get it
can you point me to the one where you bought your code?

This is similar to the one I got mine from. I know people who have used this seller without issue.

[Q] Yeah, I'm a n00b, and I need help with an S4 i9505

Hey guys,
I have a Galaxy S4 i9505 here and I need to get the SIM unlocked on it. See at the moment it's registered to O2 with an O2 sim card. Putting in another gives the message: 'SIM network unlock PIN' and requires a passcode. There are many guides on the internet which instruct people how to use the service menu *#0011# to change the network settings, but unfortunately I can't access the controls (the main menu doesn't appear regardless of what I do). Also there's something called "GalaxSim Unlock", an app, but I've installed this and it doesn't work either (gives the error no unlock method known for this device).
I've managed to use Odin to root the phone...or at least I think I have - but everything is exactly the same. Can anyone on here help me because it's a real pain in the arse.
I'd be happy to discuss it on Skype if you'd prefer by the way. PM me and I'll give you my ID - I would post back the solution here just so anyone reading knows.
Phone details:
Type: SAMSUNG Galaxy S4
Model: GT-I9505
OS: Android 4.4.2
Baseband version: I9505XXUFNB9
Kernal version: 3.4.0-481100

That method via *#0011# doesn't work anymore. Unfortunately only paid solution for now. I got mine unlocked within 40 min and cost me €15.
Yeah, unlock it by IMEI :highfive:
Really? There's no way to unlock it via changing the software?
I know of people who've managed to unlock their iPhones using jailbreaks - I would've thought on android it would be even easier. There's really no way to do it, despite being able to install a completely new operating system?

Nope.
****ter. Okay, no worries.
Another question: If I put let's say, a vodafone SIM card in it now and get it unlocked, will I have to pay again if I change to a different SIM card later, say Orange? Will I need to pay to get it unlocked twice or is it just once for all networks?
Thanks again.

[Q] Is it possible for a S5 to be unlocked? (Sorry if in wrong section)

Sorry if this is in the wrong section folks (Please move if necessceary(
Had a fallout with my mobile provider (EE UK) so more or less basically my phone well my sim card with them is dead. I've signed up to Three Mobile (Forgive my terrible spelling) I have no idea if the phone is locked to EE though and no way of checking it currently (I'm going to flash it with a Three mobile firmware soon) even if it is locked which I fear it might be is it possible for the phone to be unlocked?
Already it's not started well. Tried to flash the 3 mobile firmware via odin and the thing failed! Help
can you let me know if you manage to get it unlocked im with ee and there customer service is rubbish,,,
This I have NO idea if this will work I can't verify just now but apparently this is a code to unlock S5'S:
http://autoomobile.com/news/samsung-galaxy-s5-unlock-code-leak-came-from-the-inside/1006249/
I need to get my phone up and running a bit first I will let you know of course if I get anywhere
There are no free SIM unlocking methods available. In particular the method in the post above will not work on any S5. You can pay an unlocking vendor $10 - $40 to unlock your S5. And a few carriers may give you an unlock code if you have been a customer for a minimum time period and have an account in good standing.
It's good practice to do a search before posting a question. Most questions have already been asked and answered and there is a wealth of information in existing threads. Anyone who had tried searching for this question would already have their answer as there are dozens, if not hundreds of existing threads about this.

1. The problem of your device is that the unique simcard that will work is SK Telecom. You will have to unlock by IMEI (buying a unlock code) if you want use others.
2. The websites that have the firmwares have slow download always if you don't pay: Sammobile.com.

thank you, so there is no other solution except for unlocking? where can i do that? do i have to contact my phone provider?
None. You're dealing with a SIM lock here, and changing firmware won't circumvent it. You'll have to contact your phone provider for the unlock code, and hope they give it to you.
