Hi
I recently had this problem.
You can download apps from the market eg. XDA app. It would say installing but then would just keep saying the same thing forever? No matter what app, it would just get stuck at installing?
This guide is based on 2.1, 1.6 maybe different!
Well heres a solution:
1. Press the menu button and click settings then go to Applications
2. Touch Manage applications
3. Then look for Market, and touch that.
4. I Uninstalled Update then Clear Cache, then Force Close.
I hope this helps anybody with that problem.

Hello everybody
I just updated my Nexus 4 to Lollipop 5.0.1 by wiping it and installing the factory image from Google
The most annoying bug I found is that when the UI prompts me a dialog, it doesn't work.
For example, when I try to install an APK file, this pops up (see Screenshot_2014-12-13-12-27-42.png in attachments), and I can only tap on "cancel". the "install" button doesn't work. Everything else seems to work fine, the navigation bar and scrolling the notification menu from the top of the screen give no problem whatsoever. This doesn't seem to depend on the APK file, nor on how do I send the command (I tried installing with ES file explorer, Dropbox, and an app called Easy Installer). I can't figure out a workaround, so I am unable to install APK's on the phone.
Another example are SuperSU requests (see Screenshot_2014-12-13-12-35-17.png ). Here the situation is worse: nothing in the dialog works, neither "deny", nor "grant", nor the box or the menu that read "ask again". Luckily there is an obvious workaround, as I can just open SuperSU and grant the permissions from there (the dialog in the SuperSU app seems to be proprietary and not from the Lollipop UI)
Probably useful info: I am using stock Android 5.0.1, rooted, with TWRP recovery and I installed Busybox (in /xbin).
I have no idea how to repair this. Can you give me some advice? If not, is there some workaround to the problem of installing APK's?
Thanks for the help and the attention.
P.S. This is my first post on this forum. I looked at the rules, but am new. So if I unknowingly broke some rules or posted offtopic I beg your pardon in advance. I also looked for other threads reporting the same problem, but found none.
I've read some posts where the user experienced the same or similar issues as yours. If I'm not mistaken, the issue was caused by some sort of a screen dimming software.

You were right. I was using an app called Lux 1.75 (sometimes called Lux Dash) that is an automatic screen dimmer. As soon as I stopped it, everything started working again.
Thanks a lot!

Yep- it was driving me crazy. Worked fine in KitKat but not Lollipop. Uninstalled Lux Dash and now hibernate works automatically after turning on Greenify in Accessibility.
thanks for the tip- prevented me from going crazy!!

Hi,
After receiving an OTA update I my phone got updated to May security patch.
As we all know, after this we are unable to download apk's in order to update the apps due to package conflicts etc etc.
I think I found a easy workaround that ad been working, at least for me, always I needed. Just finished updating 7 apps.
They procedure is ad follows:
1. Download the app (I always use apkmirror)
2. Go to Samsung File Manager/My Files and create a shortcut of the app to your Home screen
3. Go to settings > lockscreen & security
4. Disable all lockscreen securities
5. Reboot phone
6. Install all apps by clicking on the shortcuts you created.
After this you can enable lockscreen securities again.
That's it, easy as that!
Please share your experiences to see if also work for you.

how often? Does not work with the new update
Not working for me too
Sent from my SM-G930F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It's working flawless on my device.
Are you sure you followed the steps correctly?

Same here
Yea I already tried this a while back, seems to work for some, not others
That said, there are some apps that will still install on mine with the April patch that also caused problems, the latest TouchWiz Home installs fine, and so does the latest Gallery
I think the problem is with the apps not the security patch, as previous versions would not install, latest versions will
Maybe some apps are not compatible with the update you are running until they are also updated
I tried to update several apps but I wasn't able. Seems like this method is not working for me anymore....
Hi all. New to the forum. I have been searching the web for the last hour or two and haven't found a solution to my problem. I have used the search feature on this forum trying to find a solution but I don't think there's a thread for it. Im trying to install the showbox app. So I clicked the let unverified apps download button. We're good there. Now after I download it I go to file manager and try to install it, but when I click the install button the phone doesn't do anything. Almost as if it's not registering the touch to the install button on the screen. Tons of people have had these issues. Many other forums and videos say to uninstall or close out your screen filter apps or screen apps. I have no such apps. Version 4.95 and older I have all tried, the same thing happens. . Any Insight on how I can get this app installed please let me know. And if there is a thread send me a link. Thanks.

try with a file manager such as root browser maybe?
@BrewCrew94!!, since you mentioned the Install button that means you made it to the Package Installer so we can rule out the ROM's file manager.
You don't say what ROM you're running. For a time there was a package installer bug that plagued some ROMs. That was eventually fixed though.
If it is an overlay problem there could be something missed that's blocking the install button. Even a ROM's built-in appbar could do that.
You could maybe try Install Button Unlocker from the Play Store. If that helps then there is an overlay issue somewhere. If not, then not sure at this point.
ZTE Axon 7 A2017U, Dirty Unicorns UNOFFICIAL v11.7.2 ROM, Tapatalk 4.9.5
Standard problem, when some kind of overlay app is installed as many of those use the top layer of overlays.
Every button on a deeper layer does not work in this case.
Thanks for the responses! OK so on my axon 7 I haven't a clue about what rom I am running. Nothing custom so I'm assuming I am running the latest version. I recently downloaded MI Favor. I could Check the settings later. I found a solution to the problem by creating a new user on the phone and strictly only downloaded it. It works through the file manager but doesn't work on my main phone user with all my apps. I heard of the overlay issues but I couldn't figure out what the problem app could be.
I mentioned that Install Button Unlocked app, well, I think that publisher has a companion app to identify overlays. There are others like that also. Maybe one of those can help ID what's blocking the installs.

I have updated the new showbox
Hello!
I installed the file and updated the free version of showbox v5.26!
Hi
I have Axon 7, A2017 (Chinese) with Android 8.0.0 software (ZTE_A2017V3.0.0B11). On the previous version 7.1.1 the problem also occurred. On the Marshmallow version (the first software from the news) everything was fine.
The problem is that some applications such as Google Chrome, Google Maps, Google Dev, Google Canary, Maps Go (uses Google maps) and a few others; SOMETIMES they hang on startup (usually the splashscreen). In the case of Google Maps sometimes hangs immediately after the start (when showing the map). After a temporary suspension, I receive a dialog that the application is not responding - I can close it, wait or send feedback to Google.
This problem does not occur every time. I do not know what it depends on, but sometimes these applications start and work normally. Unfortunately, most often they do not work when I need them most ...
I would like to add that if any of these applications has such a problem, each of the others listed will behave the same - no response. However, if this problem does not occur (the application worked), the others will also start correctly and I will be able to use them until Android does not kill their process.
Does any of you have a similar problem?
------------------------------------------------
To get rid of this bothersome problem, I tried to restore the phone to the factory settings and after the reset do not change anything in the phone / application settings. Did not help.
Next, I tried to downgrade to the previous version of the system (7.1.1) using the official EDL packages provided by ZTE., from: zte.com.cn/china/sitecore/content/device/home/support/detail?id=B4C0ACE418834F588FED0C72D6046C78, package ZTE_A2017V1.0.0B15. On this version (7.1.1) there is the same problem, with the difference that the applications are jamming at startup, with white background (I see splashscreen on Oreo).
Since I remembered that everything worked well on Marshllow, I decided to do a downgrade version 6.0.0 (also from official sources, package: ZTE_A2017V1.0.0B15). Unfortunately, this version of the system from the official source does not work properly for me! Firstly, the phone does not search SIM cards at all. Secondly, WiFi can not be activated on the phone. Third - i can not enable USB debugging! (ie, debugging itself can be enabled, whereas after connecting the phone to a PC, there is no dialog window on the phone with the option of accepting a PC fingerprint). I had to use an SD card to update the system.
Does anyone of you also had a problem with this compile version after roolback?

Xerphis

I only experienced that with the chinese oreo betas. Every google app wouldn't start, only a white screen.
Does not happen for me on stock 7.1.1, AOSP or with GSIs.
Unfortunately, until then I could not find a solution to this problem.
Therefore, I am asking you to make an EDL backup (without user data of course). Can any of you make such a copy of your software for A2017?

I also have an Axon 7 chinese (A2017) whit Nougat 7.1.1. (A2017V2.0.0B13)
I have the same problem as Xherpis, exactly the same.
I did the same as Xerphis, I restored the phone to the factory settings, but I still have the same problem.
Could you send me the B15 EDL Backup ?.
If it did not work, I would have to change my phone, because there are many applications that do not work.
Regards.
There is a fix posted on the Edl Oreo page
This link explains how to fix this issue.

Initially, uploading backup did not help me. At the beginning, the applications behaved the same.
It helped to install the Google Services Framework version 8.0.0.-4147944.
I will add that the installation of this framework on the previous system image did not help - but you can try this first..
Hi Xerphis,
What is the final solution then? i am also facing the same issue . i am on A2017 7.1.1 B13 . modem is pretty stable but not the apps which dependent on google. Chrome, maps, paytm etc..

For me, installing every google apk fixed the issue. I was using B15, though.
You could try the yalp app?
The yalp app was good on a custom ROM I was testing.
This is an alternative to the google play store, however its usually the google play services that cause the crashes, etc
I'm running the B15 Oreo update, the apps are no problem on this, the earlier version before B13 was bad for apps force closing, crashing etc.
Had the same issue, found it to be the google play services, somthing on the last update really f%^&ed things up,
1. force stop
2. clear cache
3. clear all data
4. press 3 dots > uninstall updates
5. let it run... it will start acting strange for 1-2 min that will update the google services again and your good to go.
After installing the backup from @bornlivedie and installing Google Framework Services v8.0.0.-4147944, everything worked well.
Unfortunately, there is a network problem. Namely, I spend a lot of time in the place where the 4G network is starting (the network switches between 3G and 4G continuously), so it increased the battery usage. So in the settings I've always turned on by default 2G / 3G for both cards. Currently, changing these settings - even forcing the 2G network will not change the network mode, and all the time in the top bar I see 3G and 4G.
So I thought that I would return to the stock ROM to see if the problem would disappear. Unfortunately, even after returning to the stock ROM, the problem still exists. Anybody knows what's going on?
@kaplaey2 WOW it's work! It actually helped me. At least for now - I hope it is not a coincidence. I would like to add that the manual installation of the latest version of "Google services" did not help. It really helped uninstalling the update from the application settings. After this, we will receive push notifications to install updates from the play store.
My app was not working
