Hi, i as you said to change the package name, it don't think it would be a good idea to change as i have to change the package name plus all the code inside each and every page. Secondly its just an app to install apk files into your android device so what extra changes should i do?
<3
This worked
thanks

Damn , it does work . Thanks alot .
I almost wanted to use titanium , but something about just clicking and waiting is much easier compared to titanium

Thank You all for the help , maybe YES ... something is wrong with my built-in mail !

Clicking Preview doesn't download.
Also, I think only certain files can be downloaded.
I just tested with a .RAR file attached to an email and there was no Preview button and no Download button.
With a jpg attached, there were both buttons.
It's probably a security feature, so you can only download certain file types...

Yeah , must be that ... ( I sent to myself an .apk file )
Mystery Solved then !
Thanx again Paul ! and all of you guys !
anytime... FWIW, you can just change the extension to .jpg or .txt and you should be able to download it then. once you have it downloaded just change the extension back to .apk or .zip
actually... not too sure if you can change extension file types on the phone...

BUT .... I forgot the usb cable @ home ... so decided to email them , and then I had the second problem .. where da fu... are the "downloaded" files ???
So... I found the websharing app .. OMG .. what a great tool "online SDcard" using wifi ( maybe I'll buy the app to have full features )
And got the job done ! Files @ my SDcard ..
Finally .. I tried to replicate the same email problem using K9Mail ... but I did get the "save" option
That s the whole Tale !

OK, I tried to update the phone 6 times now.
The normal way always ended with "update not installed".
I tried with the Recovery Mode ... also no luck.
I reset the phone to factory data and tried to update again... also no luck.
It always ended after checking "/system/app/BackupAssistanceClient.apk" ... installation aborted.
The zip file is ok, no problems....
Any hint for me?
These instructions can help and more info about the update.

Edit: Link problem
Edit 2: Link been fix
I guess you uninstalled the program BackupAssistanceClient.apk. We must throw back the program. You can take them out of the old firmware http://www.mediafire.com/?4450xiqnxngzq.
You'll need two programs: SBF-ReCalc 1.2.9.1 and Diskinternals Linux_Reader
First you understand the firmware to the code groups. You will need a group number 39.
The second program allows you to get out of the code of the folder system.
To do this:
1. Install and run the prog.
2. Click the menu item Drivers Mount Image.
3. Were 39 group, and click Mount. In the program window will appear system (Linux native Volume 1) with all its contents.
4. Select the desired item and right-click choose Save, and then follow the instructions.
5. That's all you have files you need.

Motostigr, you are my hero
You were right. I deleted a few programs and that was the reason for the failed update.
As most of the time the failure is sitting in front of the pc/phone
Thank you!

HOW TO CHANGE BOOTANIMATIONS AND BOOTSOUNDS !!
*The size 7 looks funky eh? *
Ok, so this thread is a tutorial on how to change the bootanimations and bootsounds on our beloved LG - Optimus One/P500..(You had already guessed that, had'nt you? ) .. Basically I will start from scratch so this thread can be easily understood and appreciated () by everyone including newbies to Android ('n00bs' is racist, isn't it ?) ..So here goes...
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS
1) First and foremost 'BRAINS' .. Please read and re-read the thread carefully before asking any stupid questions.
2) A Rooted Phone. Use any one click application such as z4root or gingerbreak to root your phone. There are many tutorials on the net for that matter.
3) A file manager (Installed on your phone) with the ability to R/W (Read/Write) .. Such as Root Explorer (Highly Reccomended) ,File Expert..etc..
4) ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE TRYING ANY OF THESE METHODS.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOOTANIMATIONS
1) Download any bootanimations online (or create one using the link below) and make sure they are of '.zip' format. Please see the links below this section.
2) DO NOT extract the file. Simply rename the file to 'bootanimation.zip' (without the quotes).
eg: if your file name is xxxxx.zip ,change it to bootanimation.zip
3) Connect your Phone to the computer ,turn on usb mass storage and copy paste the file onto your sdcard. You can place it anywhere, but just remember to keep track of it. Turn of usb mass storage and disconnect.
4) Go to Root Explorer and move your file to data/local (put it in the 'local' folder) or system/media. The location of the bootanimation varies with ROMs . Wherever you see the old bootanimation.zip file, put it in that folder. If a file with the same name already exists, replace it with the new file and move the old file onto your sdcard. (Thats your old bootanimation)
5) Reboot
STFU and enjoy your new bootanimation !
NOTES :
If the file you downloaded from the net is already named 'bootanimation.zip' you do not need to re - rename it. (That was obvious, wasn't it ?).
Also you could also rename the file using root explorer and not neccesarily using the PC. Its really upto you.
If you want to download some bootanimations go HERE
P.S. My personal favourite is Transformer Bootanimation by aspee.
You can create your own bootanimations using this tool.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOOTSOUNDS
1) Ok, for this process you need a sound file, preferably a '.wav' file, but any will do ... You could download them from the net (Google ) or you could just choose any file from your PC, its really up to you.
2) Now you need to convert the sound file to a '.mp3' format..A fast and easy way to do this is by going out here and following the instructions on screen. You could also use any other audio converters but everyone has their own preference.
3) Change the name of the converted file to 'PowerOn.mp3' ('P' and 'O' capitalized)
eg: change the name from xxxxxxx.mp3 to PowerOn.mp3
4) Connect your Phone to the computer ,turn on usb mass storage and copy paste the file onto your sdcard. You can place it anywhere, but just remember to keep track of it. Turn of usb mass storage and disconnect.
5) Go to Root Explorer and move your file to system/sounds/lgeSounds (put it in the 'lgeSounds' folder). If a file with the same name already exists, replace it with the new file and move the old file onto your sdcard. (Thats your old bootsound)
6) Reboot
Your smiling, ain't you ? Enjoy the new bootsound.
FOR CYANOGENMOD USERS
1. Download this shell script here bootsnd.sh
2. Place it on the root of your SD card & then open Terminal & type the following
su
cd /sdcard
sh bootsnd.sh
3. Now by using a file manager program with R/W (Read/Write) go to the /system/bin in your phone & make sure the file has transfered over! It should say BOOTSOUND & have permissions set to rwxrwxrwx! for this I use Root Explorer or you can use File Manager once you have selected R/W
4. Before transferring your sound file over rename it on your pc, android_audio and make sure it is a .mp3 file. Transfer the sound file from your pc to the root of your SDcard. Now move your sound file you want to play when the phone boots to /system/media of your phone & rename it android_audio you will have to be in R/W mode! Typically fifteen seconds is plenty long and just perfect, however anything over 30 seconds will get cut off.
5. Reboot & enjoy your new BOOTSOUND B)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTES :
1) Yes. These animations do work on custom roms. You do not need to do anything else as stated elsewhere by other articles.
2) Always make a backup before doing new things.
3) If you still have a problem then you see that reply box below..Well yeah, fire away !
4) Utilize the THANKS button. That was made for a reason

Umm well..if you do have the 'lge sounds' folder then it will definitely work.
And yeah you dont neccesarily need to use your PC everytime..As long as your sound file is 'PowerOn.mp3' You're good to go !
Sometimes, instead of converting the file to mp3 format you could just rename your file to 'PowerOn.mp3' but I personally have experienced that only renaming the file doesn't work always i.e it works sometimes and sometimes doesnt..But converting AND renaming it is a sureshot method
Please tell me whether it works for your optimus V..

The method works for sure..I tried it on Mik'o Void which IS a CM ROM..
Make sure u convert the file to an mp3 format and also rename it to android_audio.mp3. Before using the terminal emulator to use the script, go to root explorer and click on mount r/w and you are good to go.

To start go to
/system/etc/unit.local.rc
and open it in the text editor. Delete everything from
###Bootsound - Safe to Delete: Start###
to
###Bootsound - Safe to Delete: Stop###
Delete any instances of it.
Next go to /system/bin/ and delete the file bootsound.
Now go to /system/build.prop and open it in the text editor. Scroll all the way to the bottom and delete any instance of
ro.config.play.bootsound=1.
Now delete build.pro this is an error in the bootsound script. If you don't have this file don't worry about it.
Now open the bootsnd.sh file you downloaded and scroll to the bottom. Find the line that reads
echo ' ' >> /system/build.pro
and add a p at the end so it reads
echo ' ' >> /system/build.prop
and then save and exit.
Now open terminal emulator and type in:
su
cd /sdcard
sh bootsnd.sh
Now go to /system/bin/ and verify that the file bootsound was created and make sure it has full permissions.
If all is well place android_audio.mp3 in /system/media/ if it isn't there already. Reboot and enjoy your bootsound!

Well, the bootanimation is actually a series of PNG images which are displayed in quick succession. The fps actually depends majorly on the number of images.
If u wanna create ur own BAnim there are many threads on XDA for that matter.

What is this thread all about?
After the release of [UNIVERSAL]VoLTE Patch v2 for All Android N Roms by Sudeep, I created a thread here on changing the "HD" icon to "Volte" Icon.
Many people pm me asking, hey there if you can make it look like MIUI ,and other stuff, i decided to make you all know how to create your own icon for the volte..
Yes,you heard it right, now you can add your own icon instead of the Volte Icon :fingers-crossed: :highfive:
Requirements
*Java Installed. Get it from here
*apktool. Get it from here. Thank youiBotPeaches for this tool
*Volte Patch by sudeep. get it from here.
How to Do it??
1. Extract the apk tool.zip and vole.zip downloaded earlier.
2.Copy the ims.apk from system>vendor>app>ims>ims.apk from the volte.zip and paste it in the apktool directory.
Hold the shift key and right click on the mouse to open cmd window in the apktool directory and type the following command.
Code:
[B][SIZE="3"]apktool if ims.apk
apktool d ims.apk[/SIZE][/B]
3.Now you will get a folder called ims. Go to res>drawable-xhdpi-v4> and replace the icon with your icon with the name "ims_state". It must be a png file. And if you want to Change the text"Device is HD Capable", go to values>strings.
Open the file with an editor like Notepad++ and find the following line
Code:
<string name="device_is_hd_capable">Device is HD capable</string>
Replace the line Device is HD capable with your line and save it.
4.Once all that is done, go to apk directory and open cmd as done in step 2 and type the following code.
Code:
apktool b ims
5.Then you will got a new folder in the ims folder called "dist". In there you will see the new ims apk. Once you get it open the new ims and old ims apk using any zip software like winrar. Then Drag and copy AndroidManifest.xml and META-INF from old to new apk.
6. After all that is done drag and copy the new apk ims.apk to the system>vendor>app>ims>inside Volte.zip by sudeep and replace old ims.apk . Finally flash it using any Custom recovery like TWRP.
FAQ
1.Volte not Working?
A:- Use original patch again and see if volte comes back and report to me in comments with the desired image. Will try to Make the Patched_ims when iam free.
2. Everything above said is checked, still no VoLTE?
A:- I aint have no role in that. Ask Sudeep about it in his thread here
3.Java Is Not Recognized As An Internal Or External Command
A:-Watch this video.Best Solution i found.
Kill the like button if it helped you in any way :good: :fingers-crossed:

mmm, okay I'll upload the tool again but in zip format, to see if it can be extracted well
The error of license is because the tool is a .exe and not a bat.
From here a while I send you the file in bat format

Ok, download this file:
https://mega.nz/#!n9UE1aAK!gYVYq9ZJuHmojXE_SdmPdo-yJ9c574CM9zHGrX4lYUI
And replace it with the amazon tool.exe file
hello friend, I used the two tools, WinRAR and 7zip, in my case none worked from windows, unlike linux, apparently correct extraction ... but an .exe there is no .bat apparent ... I will try to rename the extension, to cfr see what happens, thank you
I get the same unlicensed compiler error. Can you please compile a bat file? Thanks.

Copy the bat that I have attached to you in the previous comment in the folder of the amazon tool
sorry for the inconvenience but i cannot seem tofind the bat file you are referring to. The last link that you provided (https: //mega.nz/ #!n9UE1aAK!gYVYq9ZJuHmojXE_SdmPdo-yJ9c574CM9zHGrX4lYUI]) is the same one you posted in the beginning and after re-downloading it i did not find any bat file inside it.

mmm, in fire os 5.6.0.X you can not uninstall amazon apps, but the tool clean data and cache of all amazon apps.
If you want to hide them, install nova launcher with the tool and in nova settings go to applications> hide applications and hide all amazon apps
The photos attached show how my fire was after using the tool
Hello, using the tool i managed to install novalauncher and downgrade to 5.4, how do I delete the pre-installed amazon apps from here? Thanks
