Long story but I thought my 6p was dying so I snagged an Axon 7 with some Monster N-Pulse headphones from Newegg @ $350 on Cyber Monday. Don't need it but now can't decide if I should send it back or replace the 6p, and Newegg will charge me a 15% restocking fee even if I open the damn packaging. So...
Anyone have thoughts on this phone that has used it? I have V4A on my 6p and am a big audio guy, but I would like to know how much better the Axon 7 audio is vs. the 6p with V4A or ARISE/Dolby, whatever? I've heard the Axon 7 is one of the best audio phones.
Also any other general thoughts on the phone vs. the 6p are welcome. And yes I realize I came to the 6p forum to ask this question lol
6P has better build quality, speakers, more bands for international support, more community support, first to receive updates after the pixel, better camera than axon 7,fast fingerprint senor, ois image stabilization , better support, more security, reliable, QUAD HD AMOLED
axon is basically a mid ranger with a 820 but crappy camera and software

Totally agree. My axon 7 camera is total crap. I am going back to a nexus 6p. Can't afford a LG V20 or pixel.
I'm going from a V20 back to a 6P.. The camera on the V20 is crap

Well the axon has a new processor but it's slow due to unoptimized software unlike Nexus 6P

Just taking a poll. Me personally I kind of did at first but now not so much, do wish we had marshmallow already. Oneplus two's build quality might be superior.
I'm selling my OP2 as soon as my Nexus 6P arrives (next week). The OP2 isn't a bad phone at all, but I REALLY miss not having front facing speakers... That has turned out to be a deal-killer for me.
Since 2012, I've had phones with front facing speakers and I thought I would try the OP2 and see if I could live without them, but it seems I can't
I was planning to sell the OPT and buy a 6p but not one person in the world wants to pay more then €300 for it while I paid €450 for it 4 weeks ago. It's definitely not like the OPO, I could have sell it with profit last year. The OPT was a bad decision and it's the f***ing invite that made me buy it. I think my wife won't let me buy the 6p so I'm a little disappointed now.
Technically, in terms of raw performance the Oneplus 2 trumps over the Nexus 6P any day. That full HD display helps a lot in the battery (at least in my experience with the OP2 and 6P). Only factor limiting such potentiality is the damn OXygen OS, which in my experience has yet to gain proper optimization with the hardware, but then custom roms with that are cm based are already quite buttery smooth in user experience. Oneplus 2 has superior camera, and with the latest software update, video recording has been fixed. Overall, in my opinion, some of the advantages of getting the NExus 6p if you are a character with little knowledge in android hacking are faster software updates, front facing speakers, gorgeous AMOLED display (but then again the QHD evidently takes a hit on the battery), larger developer community( I might be wrong, but then OP2 already has a significant amount of devs), and stock android experience. lol
Both Nexus 5x and 6p are more expensive than OPT. So i definitely not regret buying OPT week after release! It was great phone for me since i got it, sure some bugs there and there but overall very satisfied with it. There are better smartphones, but in this price range - OPT is still one of the best.
Since the 64gb version 6p is 270€ ($300) more expensive than the OPT I am not even thinking about it.
I'm very happy with my Oneplus Two. In india, i can buy 2 Oneplus Two for the price of 1 Nexus 6p 64gb. So i definitely don't regret buying Oneplus Two.

This. It's not really a fair comparison as the Oneplus 2 so much cheaper. I would probably buy a 6P if I could justify the additional cost, but for the money I think the Oneplus 2 is great

yes, it is still by default in 1080P 30FPS. Oneplus has yet to release another software update that would inculcate the 60FPS functionality in FHD recording. The camera can shoot with that frames.

That's nice.
It's been confirmed?
Well let me add to this thread that I do regret it as my oneplus two home button went dead yesterday. Pretty disappointing.
No regrets so far. Google went crazy at prices in Europe. For the same space and specs they sell it for twice the price for an OnePlus 2 64GB. Yes, I blame Google for it, because the 6P is ugly as hell. Well, I don't care that much about design, but if I pay twice the price, I'd consider to buy a LG G4 rather than a Nexus 6P.
To make everything simple, Oneplus 2 has potentials of surpassing even the latest flagships of today in terms of software experience. The specifications surpass or at par with the greatest today. Like i've said, only thing limiting the full potentials of this phone is Oxygen OS. If Oneplus would fix the bugs and stuttering of the Oxygen OS, this device would be even faster (technically) than a nexus 6P.
In terms of capturing images, it can go toe to toe even with the note 5, or G4 (which are the best in the smarthphone industry today.). GO check the reviews with the camera that has the Oxygens OS 2.1.1 if you want proof.
Display appreciation is subjective. An AMOLED panel would have high saturation as compared to the true to life colors of an IPS LCD display. QHD is just overkill, and it is a minuscule update from a FHD display. 5 - 6 inches will not give significant changes if upgrade to a QHD.
I'm quite the opposite. Glad I've bought OP2 instead of waiting Nexus 6P.

Glad to have both. The 6P is much nicer, hardware-wise, while the OP2 makes a good beater.
That said, I really hope the OP3 has a QHD AMOLED. A decent screen would take OnePlus to the next level.

Basically this:
Camera is important to me, you can read all about the differences but the 6P is decidedly superior.
Display: brighter, more contrast, accurate colors and of course it's bigger too. I expect some degree of minor burn-in after a year or two but in the meantime this QHD AMOLED is incredible, compared to the washed-out and dimmer FHD display of a OP2.
Fingerprint sensor on the 6P is quick and all the upcoming roms will support it, while OP2's FP sensor only works with OP's closed source rom until Carl Pei gets the ball rolling.
Front facing speakers. Wish OP2 had something even 20% as good.
128 fat gigabytes. Case closed.
In OP2's favor:
I wish Huawei outfitted the 6P with a Sandstone back or skin. Slippery aluminum of the 6P is nearly as bad as glass or glossy plastic
Acceptable bezel. The 6P's bezels are a bit big for my liking, though nowhere near Apple or HTC
dualSIM! Great because I travel a lot
notification slider
My overall preferences are 6P > OP2 > S6 if that helps.
Hope they better the Oxygen OS and would take full advantage of the powerful hardware
In Austria and Germany the Lg G5 and the Axon 7 cost pretty much the same. Which one is better?
you should wait for price drop. anyway lg g5 got better camera without discussion despite the fact that the same aperture f/1.8 (really i don't understand why Chinese companies can't copy camera from samsung s7 or lg g5). lg got awful design for me. lower battery but removable and guaranteed updates.
i can't help you i just need camera from lg g5, design from oneplus 3, audio chip from axon and speakers from axon or alcatel idol 4
Depends what's more important to you:
LG G5:
- Excellent performer
- Removable battery (great when there is no options for charging or traveling)
- IR blaster one the only current flagship to still offer this. tat I know of
- Very good camera with a second wide angle camera option
- Very good single speaker (I find it easier to hear this single speaker then my Nexus 6P's dual speakers if there is some noise in the environment)
Axon 7:
- Larger 5.5 inch AMOLED display vs the G5's 5.3" IPS LCD
- Superior HiFi audio from headphone jack AND dual front facing speakers
- Said to be Google Daydream VR ready
- Should be a good performer with SD 820 (Not sure if it as good as the G5)
- Looks to have a better build (no paint job).
I like my G5 but am (was?) interested in the Axon 7 mainly due to it better audio (headphone and external speakers) and is Daydream VR support. As time passes on I'm less and less interested in the Azon 7. I'm not sure the audio and VR really justifies getting the Axon 7. As I will likely use those features less then what I enjoy about the G5 (performance, camera).
G5 build quality is sh*t. The metal cut is different from phone to phone and unprecise. I did my research before I bought my new HTC 10.
G5 build quality is the biggest no-go G5 has. This is also what kept me away from buying it.
Other than that, G5 is ok.
I already leave G5 out of my list.
I need a second phone to replace my 1+1. At the moment, I have narrowed the lis down only to 3 phones, namely: ZTE Axon 7 , 1+3 and ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe.
Well with the Axon 7 getting a release date for the 27th of July and a better than expected $399.99 price, it's hard to pass up.
Have to see what early reviews say, but it's at killer specs at that price point. My interred had been a bit renewed.
Hi everybody, thanks for reading , Sooo I am an LG G5 owner right now(the 4gb ram and SD820 version and having the phone around 7 months already), Im thinking to change to a Nexus 6p, LG G5 is not a bad phone actually, I like the two rear cameras from the back, Even that I dont use much the 8MP one(only for a big selfie group sometimes), the selfie camera is good for me actually, So Im thinking of sell my device and buy an Nexus 6p, the principal reasons for a phone to me are: battery life, screen(5.5 to 5.7) and body ratio, selfie cam which I use more than the rear one  . I never had a Nexus before, I was always like to test a Nexus for the experience of pure Android and faster updates or improvements, So what you think? Its a good choice to move from LG G5 to a Nexus 6p? Should I wait to the Pixel(that its going to be expensive in my country El Salvador :crying: ) or HTC Bolt(that I started to like) to arrive my country? Would you suggest another phone?
I would put some reasons for what I have seen against/for both phones for what I have seen
LG G5:
Pros:
Had 2 rear cameras, both have a really good resolution and the 8MP one is almost like a GoPro, which is cool
Had a good selfie cam
SD 820 and 4GB RAM do the job
Feels good in one hand
Speaker is pretty good
Cons:
Its value could be at $250-$300 to the end of the year or the next(in my country El Salvador), really underpriced
Not root, but Nougat is coming
Kind of ugly, even that I had a Dbrand Skin on it, doesnt feel/see premium
Bad batterly life when heavy use
For what I had seen on videos, this are the reasons I would take or not the Nexus:
Pros:
Really good camera, I think that is a beast in low light photos, even that only have 1 and not 2 cameras
A better selfie cam that the G5(which I use a lot)
Its value does not drop to much(around $350 the 32GB version actually in my country)
Amazing battery life
Fast updates (until mid of 2017)
Design
Double Speaker
Cons:
SD 810 and 3GB RAM(Its not bad but is getting old )
Its a 2015 device
Could be bigger(not the screen size, the phone)
Now we have the new gen of Nexus,Pixel
Only one cam against 2 of LG G5 or others 2016/2017 flagships
What do you think? Thanks for your help
I am seeking new phone....
HTC 10 , LG G5 & V20 , S7 & S7 Edge , Xperia XZ
Mate 9 , Mi Note 2 , Axon 7 , etc.
but I think I will stay with my angler for a while.:laugh::laugh:
(May be I would buy 2nd hand Pixel XL next year.)
I'm a Nexus 6p owner, the battery life isn't as amazing as you describe, and the front camera is good but nothing special, if you choose it you shouldn't do it for these reasons but for instantly updates and modding
Inviato dal mio Pixel XL utilizzando Tapatalk
I came from a lg v10 even tho they say all this ram and processor on the lg v10 it couldn't keep up like the Nexus 6p does.
Nexus 6p
Just bought my nexus 6p yesterday, at least I felt that camera, screen and in hand-feel sensation are better than the G5, also the speaker but it was really good on the G5 too, I hadnt tested battery life yet but only with having Nougat i feel the difference and Im very happy with him

Matters what good is. With lots of modding and sacraficing performance, I can get 4:30h. If you just use stock, you will be lucky getting 3h
I run stock rooted 7.1.1 use my phone a lot and get 5hrs + SOT so battery is great for me. It's all about the user and what apps they use how the brightness is set etc...My point is that some will say it's bad and others will say it's great.

i want to buy new phone after nexus 4 so should buy one plus 3 or nexus 6p and why
I have just literally sold my 1+3 for the Nexus 6p.
I had both for a short amount of time and the size, feel and amount of custom roms and stock played a significant factor in keeping the 6p.
I know the CPU is older and that spec wise it's an inferior device but there are little things that mean more to me than just specs, like the location of the fingerprint sensor on the back, it's 1440p panel, the larger battery and the speakers.
The price also mattered to me and I got my 6p for £210 compared to the Oneplus which I sold for £335, but that could be different for you.
If you're buying new then I would go for 1+3 - as it's better value for money in that respect
yeah i will buy new one
but the question is when will factor stop support your 1+3 or nexus 6p
who will live more and get support from developer
and the 1440p really its better than 1080p and stereo speaker make a huge different
I chose the 6P. The oneplus 3 was slightly cheaper but the 6P has all that was mentioned above.
Both these phones were in my top lists.
But I chose the nexus 6p for the screen size and type, potentially better battery, overall similar camera some say but probably better in the dark, much larger GB option (up to 128gb) and the dual speakers are fantastic for watching films.
Can't decide between the two.
Love HTC for Viper Rom and rooting
G6 seems like a great phone but no root for the dual sim version.
Both around £320
It's a shame LG dual SIM devices never got much development...
The 10 is a fantastic device, built like a tank, and feels much, much sturdier than the G6. Great audio, with fine tuning on the jack, as a result with good headphones, the 10 might even be better than the Quad Dac G6. I have both right now, it's a dilemma picking one over the other. I might keep the 10, I don't trust myself and I'm really concerned about breaking the glass back of the G6. I really like the wide camera but I don't take that many pictures. Every day performance is the same, they both fly. The small bezel design is very attractive though. Hard choice, I must admit... I didn't help much.
I'm debating this myself soon. If the G6+ comes to the US and I can get a good deal on it through a carrier I will likely go with the G6 because I have the G5 and have been very happy with it. But if it doesn't, I want that quad dac and the 10 is built like a tank. If I can get a deal I might get the 10.
I just got my G6 yesterday. Coming from an S8.
The G6 feels extremely secure in the hands compared to the S8. Much more sturdier. It rightfully so deserves the military grade it has.
Ive owned the HTC 10 from last year, and don't remember much about it.
It was a very great phone that felt nice due to the build. Audio quality was second to only the V20 I had.
Nothing wrong with the phone at all.
I'd take the G6 over the 10 for these reasons alone
- ip68
- audio from US version is acceptable. Actually very good. Not V20, but slightly lower. Better than the S8.
- the screen tech is welcoming. HDR and Dolby Vision.
- 821
- overall great bargain for the price I paid of $380USD

Screen and camera of the G6 blows away the 10, Audio on the 10 blows the G6 away.
So HTC 10 - Audio and sturdyness (Tank), Camera and waterproof but Fragile (No way military spec sorry) G6.

Craigslist has them at $450 all day.
You just need to submit your offer to a desperate seller.
