Thought some people will find this useful...So as the name says, what apk's can we delete from "root unistall" but without harming phones stability/performance, or maybe increase battery life/ free more ram?

Sony's account manager and the Unlimited app for a start, the only thing I left of the Sony stuff was the Walkman/album/movies trio.
What's about all these Facebook and social services an plugins? Can they all be removed savely? I already removed the Facebook spyware, so I don't need them.

My phone's not rooted, but I disabled those Facebook social services. Seems fine

This people don't know how to install properly custom roms. I installed 4.3 custom roms few times and as you can see my phone is working great.
Mine's working with better performance, less battery drain and more free RAM but some are unsure in things like flashing.
@Riemen
I deleted everything that had FB or Facebook in it's file name and some other apps as well. If you are not sure if an app is necessary for the device, just rename the extension to .bak or move it to your SD. When there's an issue you can just rename/copy back again, set correct permissions and nothing will have changed.

Time for my experience to shine here..
I've gone in and removed a ton of services and apps from the system after rooting my 4.2.2 device, using TiBu. If you choose to follow this guide, you do so at your own risk. I will not assist you in repairs if your device stops functioning, however you're welcome to POST (don't PM) questions about whether I have a specific item frozen or removed from my device.
All carrier related apps, in my case, Rogers Canada, such as Rogers Navigator, One Number, etc, can be safely removed.
All "Xperia" plugins can be safely removed. These include the social media for Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, etc.
All Google store applications can be removed EXCEPT the Play store for apps - Removable entries include Google Play Books, Google Play Movies, etc.
All Playstation related items can be removed, if you don't use them.
Most, but not all mini-apps can be removed. You must keep the calculator, clock and timer apps unfrozen and installed, or else the task switcher refuses to open and Xperia Home FC's. If you use a different launcher, I'm not sure what your experiences will be.
You can uninstall any stock apps like Calendar, Calculator and what not, but they must be replaced by the Google versions available on the play store. Do not try to uninstall/freeze them if you plan to use a 3rd party app.
Tasks, Notes and other "Sony" apps can all be removed (Albums, Walkman, etc).
Smart Connect, Throw and Photo Services can be safely frozen, but not removed.
Camera Apps can be safely frozen, but not uninstalled. Camera refuses to operate without those plugins present. 3rd part apps also refuse to operate (tried with Vignette, and CameraZoom FX).
Freezing the camera apps also removes the "slide" functionality of the lock screen, so if you remove them completely then you can't swipe to unlock your device.
Exchange Services can be frozen, but not uninstalled. If you're confident you'll never need to add another sync account to the device you can uninstall it. If you uninstall it and try to add an account such as a Google Address, or similar, then the Settings app FC's.
Messaging app can be safely removed or frozen if you have a replacement app to accept SMS and MMS (such as Hangouts). If you don't have a SMS/MMS app and you freeze or uninstall the messaging app, then your device will reboot whenever you receive a message.
All Mirrorlink related items and services can be frozen, but not uninstalled.
RetailDemo can be frozen or removed.
SensMe Slideshow can be frozen.
Setup Guide, Sketch, Top Contacts, TV Launcher, and all unused stock themes can be frozen or uninstalled safely.
You can safely remove the Xperia Home launcher if you use an alternative launcher, however a factory reset on the device will cause it to stop functioning completely, and in order to recover it you'll need to Flashtool (and subsequently unlock your bootloader) to repair it. I DON'T RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS
You can safely remove the Xperia Keyboards, however like above, Factory Reset will cause the device to become completely unusuable. I DON'T RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS

Why do you say unlocking the BL is necessary? It should be no problem to flash to whatever FTF after booting into flash mode.
I've tried previously using Emma (or whatever it was called from SonyMobile). To use FlashTool it tells me the BL needs to be unlocked.
Now as we´ve got 4.4.2 running the debloat list could get an update, doesn´t it?
I debloated too much, I guess.. My camera doesn´t work properly any more, it doesn´t focus and taking pictures freezes the cam app.
Have to watch out better before kicking out too much ^^

For Emma you do, try going to flashtool.net and using that flashtool, it does not require unlocking the boot loader

See Below post (or if you're a mod, delete this post, leave the one below it)
This list will be ongoing. If you're reading this message, there's more edits and what not coming this way.
I am currently using an Xperia Z1 C6906, Locked Bootloader that is rooted with dual recovery and NUT's 14.3A.0.681 (Android 4.4.2, Kit Kat). This is the stock rom, a fresh flash (no data backup/recovery).
If anyone knows how to export a list of currently installed/unfrozen apps from TiBu, I'd be happy to post that. Currently, all I have figured out how to do is export the entire list, but it doesn't specify if it's frozen or not.
Update (Mar 28, 1142hrs): I'm almost finished tweaking, but am having a problem with the stock EMAIL client. It's frozen, but something in the OS is calling it and is causing a "Unfortunately EMail has stopped" window appearing what I estimate to be once every few hours.. usually every 6 hours.. As soon as I figure out what's causing this, I'll post the guide and list of apps I have frozen, so you can safely remove without fear of crashes, stability degradation and boot loops
I don't understand why this thread doesn't get more love.
I'd rather remove system apps and freezing things than to install other roms..

Same happened to me here when I was deleting system apps, but I didn't delete that much, Only 8 files, 4 apks and 4 odexs.
Anyway, I used flashtool to flash the ftf I made from my SUS updating my mobile (I uploaded it and posted it in the mega collection, it's Global LTE) and then unlocked bootloader, hotbooted doomkernel to go to TWRP Recovery, and flashed NUT's DualRecovery for LB and flashed the latest SuperSU zip and rebooted to system.
Then connected it to my PC to restore my TA backup and lock the bootloader.
Now I have full root stock firmware on locked bootloader.
I don't know why but I feel that I went waay off-topic.
Regards,
~J2C
Is the de-bloating extreme if all the system related apps only are between 90-92 installed total, in /system, after reboot (after wiping cache and Dalvik Cache in recovery)?

No issues so far...if they come i'll post it here...
everything works well instead of asus launcher i use go launcher.
as i read the asus demo app installs the flashplayer and removes itself after entering the password no need to do that for me couse i use mxplayer and codecs.
Don't delete Asus launcher If you don't have any launcher installed and currently in use, it'll throw your device in to boot loop.
But Asus Demo is safe to delete.
I have the Lollipop .33 version as far as I tried if any app associated with quick settings is deleted, you can't go to Asus Customize settings and change the apps order anymore.
When you press Quick settings options it'll throw you an "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped." error. But apart from that it doesn't effect the system stability.
The .24 doesn't have this problem.
My suggestion is when you have a freshly and fully installed Lollipop .33 and want to delete some apps like Splendid, go to Asus cuatomize settings and change them to your liking first. Then you can safely delete system apps.

Just a heads up, that rotation issue can be resolved by replacing a file that gets removed when Facebook is uninstalled. http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-screen-rotation-fix-libgnustlshared-t3408140. One additional step I had to do was set permissions for the file to -rw-r--r--
How do you debloat ?

Hey everyone! Post here all the apps that you have successfully frozen, or removed, without any issues. If you know what they are responsible for, post that as well. I will keep this post updated in Alphabetic order!
After a couple days of debloating, messing up the system, and restoring, there are clearly some apps that cause major issues if removed. For example, the Facebook app causes the screen rotation function to permanently break, if it is removed. There is also another app that results in screen rotation breaking, I have yet to identify it, but I suspect it is one of the KNOX-related apps.
*UPDATE* We have some new information folks! I will be doing a very large debloat tomorrow and this thread will get a huge update

Nice thread ?
Hey everyone,
So I compiled this entire list and did it myself. I was doing it in batches. The last portion was after Phase Beam, and that caused an error in the system
"EmergencyManagerService has stopped working"
This causes the error to come up on every reboot, and breaks ultra power saving mode functionality. At this point I am going through them one by one and trying to identify which app breaks this when removed. This may take a while ...

Thanks for the topic/lists @WaterMan! & @kyoji001, I loves some debloating... wait! I... don't care for bloat... Err, both! :silly:
Are you guys using a particular tool for uninstallation or doing so manually? I've used TB with filters in the past but have encountered some (minor, but semi annoying) issues in the past. I had planned on using System App Remover on my next fresh install based on recommendations/friendliness wrt lib files but then an update added a location permission, which set off my sketch alert and put me off of that app.
Ok, this is going to be long... feel free to skim :good: I did an interesting test last night, although I'm still running 5.1.1 (TEKxodus 7.4R2). I had removed about 200 unwanted system apps along with their data via TB a couple of months ago. Like I said, issues were minor and sporadic (mostly various GAPPS fc's). My phone's been running fine, so I didn't bother trying the following until last night, mainly just in the interest of contributing to this discussion, although I can't say yet whether or not this is "safe" on MM... if you think it might be problematic for any reason, please chime in! The steps that I took are here: extracted the system/lib directory from my current ROM's install archive, cut & pasted the entire original system/lib directory into the same directory on the active TB debloated ROM skipping present files and replacing those that were missing/deleted - I skipped subfolders at first then checked my install to see if any of them were missing files which they weren't, next I wiped cache & dalvik in recovery and optimized databases in Synapse (for good measure...), step 4) ????, 5) Profit!(?)
I used Root Explorer to do my lib directory manipulation, and after copying the missing modules, I selected all files in my actual system/lib directories to get a count then did the same in the folder I had extracted which then contained all of the files that were already present and therefor skipped. There were 7 more files in my active lib directory, so it seems that's how many modules my debloating had removed.
I wasn't really sure if/how I'd be able to tell if restoring the modules had any positive effect since the only problems that I had with my phone were so sporadic. I did however run a bench (Antutu) before and after (this morning after the phone had been back on overnight and I had used it a decent amount). The main reason that I was curious about bench scores is that I expected to get higher average scores after debloating, but was surprised that my bench scores stayed exactly where they had been (always somewhere between 68,000 and 69,200. I always screenshot the detailed results with all of the sections expanded (scroll-capture :good: ) after running a bench and jot down any factors or settings that might have some impact on performance on the image before saving it.
Well, it turns out I was... very possibly... right to be suspicious about the lack of an increase in my average bench score. I made sure to use my phone some before testing after my dalvik/cache wipes and such - played a game for a bit, did some web browsing. So after some pretty surprisingly consistent scoring within a pretty narrow range, this morning I hit 72,871(!) with all of the extra points attributed to the (surprisingly, I suppose) 3D tests... some of the other results that I saw in the detailed section were actually a bit lower compared to my test from last night, but all within 500 points of my previous average, i.e. "normal". I'll test again in a week or so or before updating to MM (whichever comes first).
So to wrap this up, I would cautiously recommend this technique for debloating. Summarized: uninstall unwanted system apps however you want, then restore your system/lib directory to it's default install state from the extracted folder from whatever ROM you have installed. Do so at your own risk, of course, particularly if you're on MM. I'll follow the same steps that I posted after doing the update and report back on the results.
Thanks again for this thread and the bloat lists. This type of thread is always a super helpful resource!
The list I compiled is what I personally removed, and tested, using Titanium Backup. No side effects other than the app in question being deleted obviously. I just moved the list around, I have one last chunk of apps to go through. One of these causes the error "emergencyManagerService has stopped" when deleted, and also causes ultra power saving mode to stop working. I will have it done by tonight, and find exactly what app is doing this!

Hey Waterman,
Looking at your list my bet is on something to do with the Launcher. Ultra Power Saving replaces your default launcher with a special BW launcher; I'm thinking that its just a skinned Touchwiz launcher.

I don't know if its worth mentioning in your first post, but the ANT HAL services all have to do with basically fitness wearables. If you use any that aren't BT and remove the ANT+ packages I imagine they will stop functioning.
How do you actually go about removing thsese items?
What are the steps for debloating?
Thanks!
Personally I like some of the Samsung apps & features otherwise I would use a non-Samsung ROM like Resurrection Remix.
I love SHealth and have a Gear VR. I'm surprised if you have a Note 4 and don't use SHealth with its cool heartrate, pulse ox, UV, stress level and other monitoring features. Also think the Samsung photo editor is actually one of the better ones.
Never used CarMode is but it seems like something useful.
Not sure what happens with any of these if you remove Samsung Account and Galaxy Apps I think they may be necessary at least for updates to these apps and for storing the SHealth data.

Yes that is true, and that is exactly what ANT+ does. 99% of people will never use it, I know I personally will not. I haven't yet posted what everything does, but I will. I have been busy and out of town

Again, you may use it, but that's a niche. I would never use any of those features. Note 4 is way too big to work out with, nor would I want to. I have never touched the Photo Editor. Car Mode does nothing practical other than neuter phone functionality when driving. Proceed with caution, and don't delete anything you use.
Putting this here in hopes of helping other J7 perx users pull the most from their battery . Thanks to Ashyx we have root on our device!! Wich makes this possible. Recovery atm is still being worked on so bootloops are no fun, figured id help everyone out, took quite the number of bootloops and several hours to come up with rebooting after every single uninstall to pin point certain apks, hopefully it is useful.
First make a backup with titanium backup!!
(The list does not rob the os of many features, but if theres something here you dont want taken out then simply look over it or restore it)
68-70 apks removed with titanium backup, lets get goin.

Note of advice while debloating Stock Oreo ROM for SM-J727P
All the listed apps in here just apply fine except you have to keep in place the native Email and Message apps because if you uninstall any of those the Camera app stop working properly right away https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77722457&postcount=29

I have an Oreo debloat script in my Spacesung thread. Everything without a # sign in front of it in my script is safe to remove. Additionally, it's also safe to remove Samsung experience, the theme store, and Touchwiz launcher, if you have another launcher to replace it. You can remove google videos as well, I just forgot about it. The native Samsung video player will kick in from the gallery if you do. I prefer it myself.
For those who still rock with this warrior phone.
As of this writing and latest ROM version J727PVPU7BTH1 do not uninstall the included Chrome web browser apk as it would prevent you from signing in to the Play Store account.
