Edge panel for s7, what is the best ? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I need to have whatsapp contacts, telegram contacts, messenger (facebook), if possible, always in the edge panel , but i can't with the default panels installed on my s7 edge. There is a panel with this features ? I'm using plus messenger (alternative client telegram) and this don't have contacts widget like whatsapp, so widget panel already available can't add shortcut contacts. The same happen for messenger. So there is a panel capable to add any contacts from above mentioned applications ? Or a mod, hacks, something similar, i have a rooted phone if neeeded.
Thanks whoever can help me!

Filtering active tasks, software recommendation?

Dear Diamonders,
Microsoft has a bug in the filtering of active tasks, right?
How have you managed to get it working? What is the third party software that just does the trick? I am not really interested in fancy PIM solutions that used color categories, etc. Just want the filter to work.
thanks in advance,
Tarmo
It works for me.
I'm synchronising with Outlook 2007, which does have colour names as default categories, but I have deleted those and created new categories for my contacts. The Diamond is allowing me to assign those new categories to tasks and filter them just fine.
I am also using Outlook 2007.
Are you saying that when opening tasks and selecting - menu - filter - all tasks/active tasks, you are getting only tasks from today and active tasks from the past. I am getting all tasks that have future date...
Or are you talking about contacts?
thanks,
Tarmo

Some of what I miss about Sense

Contacts: I loved the sense contacts (People) app. I liked that I can assign a facebook account for each contact. I used it for getting my contacts' facebook profile pic as their display pic. worked fairly simple and if a user updates his profile facebook pic, his/her contact pic is also changed. I didn't use the other functions of Sense's facebook integration though. The status updates was poorly implemented and displays "this person has updated their facebook profile" for whatever that friend does on facebook.
Now with vanilla , the sync with all contacts that the official facebook app offers doesn't work as I want, cause:
- I have some facebook friends that I don't want them as contacts in my phone. facebook will always sync the contact if he/she has a phone number in their profile. Which, for some friends, I don't want.
- If the same person has different names in facebook and in my contacts list, I won't get his picture.
So, is their a way to fix this sync issue?
Or, can I get the sense Dailer/People app in vanilla?
Or, Is there a good alternative in the market?

Edge panels disappear randomly.

My purchased edge panels sometimes dissappear. The panel is still present, but the icons are gone. I have to manually disable and re-enable the edge panels for them to show back up. I've also noticed that this does not happen on any stock panels. Any thoughts on what may be causing this behavior?

I'm having the same problem with my s7 edge panel contacts, they stay in place for a few hours then inexplicably vanish. Oddly, it's only 2 of the 5 edge contacts that disappear. I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between the contacts that stay and the ones that disappear, but so far no luck. Here's some things I did that didn't work:
- I noticed that the 2 disappearing contacts were Outlook and Skype contacts but not google contacts. I added those 2 as google contact thinking that was the problem, then added them to the edge panel but in a few hours they vanished, leaving behind the other edge panel contacts.
I did read somewhere online, of course I can't find it now, that if you uninstall the Outlook contacts and then add contacts to the edge panel the contacts stay put. I did add the contacts that stay before I added and synced Outlook as those contacts were already google contacts and the 2 contacts who vanish were originally only outlook contacts so I was unable to add them until I'd figured out how to sync Outlook contacts. I don't want to unsync and uninstall Outlook just to see if those 2 contacts magically stay put because it was a pain to get the Outlook contacts synced in the first place. Any ideas appreciated!
Solved!
The contacts need to be google/Gmail contacts. So, unlinked my contacts that had Outlook, yshoot, etc, then I added the contact by using their Gmail profile. Once I'd added them to my edge panel, I then linked their Outlook, Skype, etc to that profile. Yay! Now my contacts stay put on the edge!

[Q] How to disable duplicate calendar notifications?

Hi all,
I'm after some help please and I will try and explain everything as simple as possible; I have lived with this for several months however I've decided to try and find a solution for my issue I have, which is receiving duplicate calendar notifications for an event/appointment etc.
After searching the net for last few days I've not found a solution.
Basically my set up is as follows:
Up until a week ago I was running MM stock, no root on my S7 edge, with S Planner for my Gmail account and Nine - Outlook for Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ninefolders.hd3&hl=en) for my office 365 work account and now I'm running the Nougat Beta, no root, with the same Apps.
Some background info:
Before installing Nine I used the default email app for syncing my Office 365 work account, however it is very limited especially when using sub-folders and having rules created in Outlook on Windows App, I would receive an email on my PC and get an alert no problem however due to the default email app on Android not allowing notifications when emails are in a sub-folder it made me switch. Nine is expensive but worth the money to get notifications for sub-folders alone.
Therefore on to my problem:
Since using Nine if I set up an alert/appointment on my PC or using my phone when a notification comes up I get two notifications, one for default S Planner and one for Nine app, now I could simply disable the notification within Nine however the snooze function is far superior to S Planner and I would prefer to use that for work alerts etc.
For instance S Planner only allows snooze for a default period (I believe it is 5 or 10 mins) with no option to change this, so I can keep snoozing each time if I like, Nine however allows you to define a snooze period from 5 mins to 2 hours therefore I use Nine's snooze functionality especially as with work things are always changing therefore flexibility is better.
You may be thinking why not just use Nine and put up with the duplicate notifications, well I have for several months but now I'm setting a lot more alerts/appointments and it's now becoming a nuisance!
Ideally I want to be able to use S Planner as my default calendar app to view both my Gmail calendar and work calendar but have S Planner to alert me only for personal alerts and carry on using Nine to alert me for work related alerts, maybe I'm asking for too much but to me it seems quite simple.
Over the last couple of days I've tried a few things:
Disabled notifications within S Planner, installed the Google Calendar app and enabled notifications in there and then I enabled my work calendar in the Google Calendar app, however it does the same as with S Planner I'm still getting duplicate notifications, now just with Google Calendar and Nine! :crying:
It appears S Planner and Google Calendar app syncs between the two.
I can disable my work calendar in the Google Calendar app but it turns it off in S Planner therefore when I open my default calendar app (S Planner) I only now see personal information.
The Google Calendar app also has limited functionality with the snooze, I have tested this and it's very similar to S Planner, there are no options to change the default snooze or pop up when the alert appears.
Maybe I'm over thinking this and someone will hopefully point out something I haven't thought about, which I would be very grateful if someone can because it's driving me crazy!! Maybe there is a calendar app out there that allows you to view all your calendars but select individual calendar alerts, which is what I'm mainly after.
Thanks in advance and I hope this was comprehensible :good:
