Man i told u before i tried these all exactly 3 type of file with 3 methods.
If TWRP doesnt work, idk if this can help you. The last options is flash other recovery to remove this problem. Try philz and cwm (which is the same but philz is advanced). Tip: If one recovery doesnt work dont try it
PS: You have the same scenario like me on TWRP installation

Dear All,
After lot of testing I finally found the recovery working for CM Based Lollypop ROMs, as I don’t like CM recovery so I was looking for a workaround.
The working way is flash it via fastboot -
"fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img" (recoveryname.img whatever is the name of the download file)
or you can use Playstore Apps to flash img Files (Select Recovery not Kernel) for eg. - [ROOT] Rashr - Flash Tool, Flash Image GUI, Flashify etc.

I'm guessing I'd need to go back to the 'stock recovery' but I don't know where to get the original .img file.

Use all in one tool to boot into bootloader. Read carefully or your next step is qfil method
Here's a good guide in case you're don't get it through aoi tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/general/qpst-method-how-to-unbrick-to-stock-t3506833

Hey guys
I already find way to compile to the latest twrp 3.1.0-3 unofficially, to fix some existing bugs in previous version twrp both official or unofficial, like in prevous twrp, if you try to encrypt your data, you will getting alot trouble or imposible to decrypt and enter and access data user again.
Bug fixs:
Encryption,
Decryption,
Aroma installer,
All are fully working properly
Flash with previous twrp recovery or by fastboot

You don't need root to flash a custom rom. You just need a custom recovery like twrp.
If you don't know what you are doing then do a bit more research or you could completely f$#k up your device
