We've gone ahead and written two guides on how-to install XBMC to the Amazon Fire TV that you'd probably find useful. Hopefully it's not a problem to link to them from here.

Here is the instructions for upgrading XBMC. http://kodi.wiki/view/Amazon_Fire_TV#Upgrading_XBMC
2.5 Upgrading XBMC
XBMC can be upgraded through ADB without losing your settings. To do this, you must use a newer version of the package already installed on the machine.
Download the package to your machine
Make sure ADB is connected to the Fire TV
Run adb install -r <apk-file-name>
Installation is complete when it reports the message "Success"
XBMC will still go through the "first run" screen the first time it is launched but your settings will remain intact.
Thx Dude.
Basically I have a moto 360 1st gen. Which hasn't received 2.0 update. So I'm not sure how to check if my apps are on Android wear store?
Is there anyway to check or can anyone help?
You might still search for them by name, if not on your phone or tablet then from your desktop (navigate to https://play.google.com/store). Check under the wear category.
Open the wear 2.0 emulator in android studio and connect the emulator to a phone with adb*. Then you can go to the playstore on the emulator.
*run the following command to get the adb connection working: adb forward tcp:5601 tcp:5601

Hotstar recently released fire tv version of the apk which I was able to extract from fire stick. When I try to install the app on the shield tv I keep getting "could not install" error. Is there a way to convert fire tv app to shield tv?
I do not believe there is any Amazon login dependency. If anyone can convert it or there is a way please send it my way.
Hi, I want to try the apk on my android TV. Do you think you could share it..? Thanks !
