i did not have any problems in a year using the hp plugin for wireless direct printing with my officejet 8630.
just recently, when i try to "print" a document i get an error message "this printer is not available".
but when i "send" the document via the same hp plugin, it prints.
i have uninstalled amd reinstalled the plugin. i have cleared the print spooler cache.
wasnt sure if it was a good idea to clear the data. but, is that even what's wrong with the ability to print?
any feedback would be great.

I loaded the bluetooth stack, and everything works fine! I also paired up my printer (Epson RX680 & BT adapter) with the PDA as well. Pocket Word and Excel, and other programs do not have a printing / print selection. I went to Handango and found only 3 apps for printing through the web browser. Is there any way that I can print Word, Excel, or Adobe reader (PDF) files via this bluetooth stack?
Update: I did try to install Jetcet print (Only works with WM5 and higher), and tried Printboy. Printboy requires you to have a internet connection. Tried Printboy with the Active Sync., but doesn't that defeat the purpose of having bluetooth? I could have easily transferred the file onto my Desktop and then printed from there in the first place.
Thanks in advance,
Tankobu
Hello, the more I use my PDA to emulate a PC experience, the more i deplore the missing print function in all applications.
Often I find myself in need to print an email, its attachment or any other file.
Does anyone feel like me we need to be able to print anywhere ? (like on the new Nokia's for instance)
yea here too, this is something we used to have in the old pocket pc & windows ce but not sure if there is anything available for windows 6.x.
anyone have any info??
How about JetCet Print?
Jetcet and a BT equipped Canon I80 printer works great with winmobile 6.1. Prints email or files including pictures and pdf
HP ePrint
Hi all,
Try the newest HP ePrint enabled printers: from any device you can just send an email with the document attached (picture, MS Office document, web page) directly to the printer's email address. Both message's body and attachement are automatically printed by the printer connected to internet.
No software is needed on device and works from any phone/OS.

Radu
Sense 3.0 - Do any ROMs here have the "Print" feature working?
Was looking at a coworker's T-Mobile HTC Sensation, and there's a builtin "Print" button into the Sense UI. He was able to get on the company's Wifi, add a printer by IP address, and print pictures, etc, to the printer.
I'm looking for someway to print to an IP address. I've tried PrinterShare app, but you cannot add a printer by IP address - it only searches for nearby wifi printers, or client software installed on a PC connected to a printer. Seeing as all of our printers are network printers, I need to connect by IP.
Is there a way to do this on a Gingerbread 2.3.4 ROM?

it may or may not be a solution for you, but I use Could Print, from the Android Market. It's an Android app that uses Google Cloud Print to send stuff to a printer connected to your PC.
It does require Google Chrome to be installed on your computer, and said computer to be on, but the few times I've used it, it has performed well.
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, Cloud Print is not an option, because the printers are all network printers, being connected to the wall by an ethernet cable. They are not connected to a PC and we cannot install software on the PCs.
if you can use dropbox on the machine that has the network printer set up, then check this out:
http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/10/cloud-printing-print-remotely-with-smartphone-dropbox/
though i dont really know if dropbox will work with networked printers or only locally attached printers. i've never used dropbox before.
Certainly!
I'm running Virus's Kingdom B1.4, and I'm able to use the "Print" menu just fine.
Of course, I had to install the JETCET PRINT apks for it to work, but after doing that, the Print function works fine. I have a Network attached printer at home, and it detects it automatically. I just have to select the correct driver. It doesn't print HTML, but it works fine on plain text, or even Rich Text e-mails (it still prints it out in plain text format though).
Looking for a good free print app that works I tried e print and print not but have to pay..just need to know before I have to buy one
I use cloudprint.... free, easy to use, always available
Cloud print works.
To use cloud print you have to have a net Active printer or a Google Chrome browser on a pc. THE PC must be on to print and there is some delay. Depending on your printer brand there are some print apps from say HP BROTHER KODAK. and so on..
I have a new Brother printer that has wired or wireless and bluetooth netWORK it will print direct to the printer.. from over the internet or from anywhere in my home. Awesome.THE App is on the market . Find the one suited for your printer or install chrome browser on your desktop.. install the cloud print plugin to it set your printer model in the application inbeded in chrome browser.. then install the app and on your tabler and assign it your google account setup on google chrome on your desktop.. ..
IT WORKS WILL WITH SOME LAG
and some documents dont print properly. This could be because my printer was OLD MODEL.. bought new one a week or so ago...
I use PrintBot. There are free and pro versions of it. My HP deskjet 5150 printer is fed by a D-Link wireless print server, so it has its own IP address, using the LPR method. As such, I can print by wifi directly to the printer, even if no PC in the house is running.
This model of HP is not listed in the PrintBot settings, so I use the HP deskjet 5400 series, and it works fine. Note that this older printer does not have wifi built in. This method will work with pretty much any printer connected by USB to the wireless print server, which is hard wired to our LAN.
The best way to print from your tablet is to have a network printer hooked up. This can either be via WIFI or wired ethernet. Most printer companies have their own apps for printing while connected to the same network as the printer. For example I have an app called "Samsung Mobile Print", and "Lexmark print". Both were free and both tell you what printers are compatible with this app.
This is what happens while I am not on my wifi.
I click Print on my Note 4 and when the printer menu pops up, it asks how I want to connect. Obviously, I do not want to use WiFi. I have tried to disable all other printer services and leave only Google Cloud Print, but I cannot select the printer.
Here are the 2 screenshots.

Any ideas why is this happening?
Did you setup cloud print support for your printer via desktop www.google.com/cloudprint
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
Just had this issue with my Note 4 as well. Need to print once to the printer over wifi. Then you WiFi be able to select the printer from the recently used list over your data connection. Seems like a bug were you can not select any printers from the Google cloud print plugin.
