As the title suggests, the facebook app is crashing again and the device manager reports that it consumes the hell out of my battery. Anyone else or should I just do a clean flash? Thanks.

I just downloaded Skype and installed it successfully. However, I notice that Skype will automatically launch randomly with the icon on the left top bar. Do I need to configure something to stop this behavior? Thanks!
Use something like AutoStarts to stop Skype from auto-launching.

Thanks for your advice. I cannot find it in Settings. Is AutoStarts a built-in app or downloaded app from Market?
So far no problems with Skype auto starting on my GSII. Is that happening to other people?
There's a modified APK of skype with video calling support for SGS2 which prevents the auto start

I may make a mistake - the icon on the left top bar should be the icon of synchronised with the web. It is rotating almost all the time. I am a bit scared of huge data download.
I'm using the modified one, and you kill it and it just restarts.
That is until BodenM mentioned Autostarts that is an awesome app. I have been looking for one that does exactly that for a while.

I'm using the modified version too and it only opens and/or closes when I tell it to.
Dear members,
Since I installed kk the GPS icon is always present in the notification bar (see picture). Is this normal? If not, what can I do about it too get rid of it? I already tried disabling location services but that doesn't work.

I also have this problem with the 4.4.2 update. Even turning location services off doesn't remove the icon. The only way I've found - apart from a restart - is to launch a Google app which invokes GPS (such as Google Maps) and then close it.
I've seen this too, running C-RoM. Doesn't happen a lot, but when it does, I reboot to clear it. No idea what causes it, although I have a gut feeling it correlates with Maps usage.
Every time I enter my recent apps menu it force closes. Every. Single. Time. I have no what could be causing this, and the only way to make it NOT do that is to quickly slide the app windows down a bit upon opening the recent apps menu, but that works inconsistently.
Help?
EDIT: SOLVED! Disable the preinstalled Google app if you're having this issue. Thank me later.

This has been causing me problems for weeks now.
In the Google settings I have all voice settings turned off but the Google search bar still pops up with 'say ok google' and it still works even on other pages.
It's as though it's completely ignoring the settings and stuck on the from any page setting.
Anyone have any possible ideas for fixes?

Try to clear data of Google Now if possible.
Otherwise try to uninstall Google Now and re-install the latest version
I've tried both of those as a first step and it still happens.
Really quite annoying as I'm pretty sure it's causing considerable battery drain.
Only thing I can do for now is deny the microphone permission for google now but this also prevents android auto from using voice commands. And it still says it's activated on the search bar

This morning after 5 Playstore updates error Huawei home : icons needs to be set back to standard... Respring off launcher error again, same problem ... This loops.. managed to get in settings , clear the data off Huawei home... Same problem, clean cache, same problem... Managed to get in to play store installed now launcher... Problem solved for now... I had Facebook Facebook pages beta updates, Google now app beta update en WhatsApp beta update... No Huawei updates what so ever... Anyone an idea or the same problem?
I have the normal working original no root or bl unlocked EU mate 9 on b136.
You might have luck opening "Settings" --> "Apps" and taking a look at that list of apps (maybe you'll need to activate "Show System Processes" (or similar, I'm using my Mate 9 with german localisation), but I'd try with the non-system apps first, as that list is shorter).
I had the same problem you are describing and the reason was the app "Ford Service", which had a completely empty name in the settings list of installed apps. After I uninstalled that app the launcher stopped from constantly reloading.
Maybe you have an app with an empty or "problematic" name as well, which forces the EMUI launcher to crash.
Oke oke ...Will check it... But what is Ford service ?? How did u find out this was the problem

Coincidence or not I can tell you that the latest Facebook version was absolutely hammering my battery. It consumed 14% in just 1 hour while sitting idle. I was forced to uninstall it and I'm now using the desktop version via Hermit.
Funny enough now Facebook Messenger is going wild and I keep getting power-intensive notifications. I have to wonder what the heck is going on in the background...

"Ford Service" is an app for Ford drivers (containing information about local and general service phone numbers etc.). I suspected that you have another app installed, which might have the same problem.
Are you using the EMUI launcher with or without the activated app drawer? In my case (with the "Ford Service" app installed) the launcher only crashed when the app drawer was activated. Deactivating the app drawer stopped the launcher from crashing.
EDIT: Added a screenshot, which shows the app with the "empty name". As long as I had that app installed, the EMUI launcher kept crashing the way you described, as long as the app drawer was activated.
I using the app drawer... But no Ford service.
Indeed... All fb apps are going wild today...
I uninstall now all fb apps... See what's happening
Deleted fb FB messenger and pages manager ... All oke now... Default Huawei launcher working like normal

Thx for the hint!
Guys, im having trouble with my app drawer too, no icons appear! I searched the Huawei Home apk but i didnt find the 6.3.47 which is the version the Mate 9 has. I will try uninstalling Facebook and Messenger and see what happens.
EDIT: The issue is still there. I really dont know whats the deal with this.
