AOSP Roms Call Echo - G3 General

The issue to be discussed is the call echo receivers hear when on speaker on AOSP roms well defined by DJRobBlaze
This poll is for people to vote about their own model... I had a thought that maybe it is model specific issue... so please vote.
"ALL! of the source built Roms have this problem.
I can't live without speakerphone so I know there is no fix, modding the buildprop/mixer_path.xml nothing worked.
If you want speakerphone you will have to use a stock built Rom like I am using.
The stock Rom has a default setting in phone settings that is the culprit.
Default settings is set to:
Noise Suppression: on
Voice Enhancement: off
It's something devs didn't catch before they built their source build Rom. so they are stuck with a broke Rom that can't be fixed. (I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong)
But as denial.aw said, I also think all these Roms that are using cm as their base to build their Roms are doomed to have the speakerphone echoing issue.
Stock builds are the only ones that have access to the settings to fix it yourself by changing the settings to,
Noise Suppression: off
Voice Enhancement: on"
... I think I missed out putting D851 on the poll :/ and dont know how to edit the post lol

This is an issue that has been bugging the everloving crap out of me...I love these roms but hate the speakerphone issue...I don't understand why this can't be fixed in a new nightly build so everyone can redo their roms or their HAS to be something that can be made up to Flash through recovery and I think the culprit is exactly what you said...fulmics has the same speakerphone issue until you change the noise suppression and voice enhancement and then speakerphone works perfect...hopefully this will be resolved soon...using vs985

[Q] TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Issues

I am a beginner and i just got done flashing that Rom, With my Previous roms that i have tested everything seems to work perfect except for a couple of issues, When placing a call i hear alot of static on my side and the other side of the phone as well in which no one can hear as to what i am saying. Any Ideas as to what it could it be? I have the New Mod plus the Magdlr and the Clockwork mod recovery plus the Radio 2.15.
Could be the "robot voice". I've heard that you can fix it permenently by disabling key tones in the dialer, or fix till you restart by going into speakerphone and then out of speakerphone while in a call.
This type of post would be better put in that rom's thread, though a search of that rom's thread would have turned up your answer (if you knew to call it robot voice in the search)
Thanks i disabled Audible Tones and thats gone now ! I am still learning on what to do and This flash was my first !
just remember many/most of the roms have that 'robot voice' on the first call. either disable the tones, as you did,
or
first boot after a fresh flash/hard reset, make a call, hit loudspeaker, turn off loudspeaker, hang up, and it will be gone.

[Help] Microphone work bad!

Hi i've a huawei x5 with the last realese of oxygen and franco kernel, and my microphone works bad, my tell me that they can't hear me right, so i want to install the stock rom to test to see if the problem is for the software or hardware, what is the latest stock rom and where i can download it?
There are some problems with Mic volume on Oxygen...But it shouldn't be that bad...Anyway, check your PMs for Stock Rom instructions.
if you edit the "hw.secondary_mic=0" line to "hw.secondary_mic=1" from build.prop it should be fine.

ALL people that tried this crap -said iit makes things worse with that setting.
Anyway soft will not help in this situation. It's bug in hardware/drivers. Some people are lucky to get good working cancellation others do get bad ones.
Also, i think that parameter is used to tell the phone to use secondary mic as primary.

That just placebo effect, i think
Problem Headphone/Mic
I only use the U8800 heaphones/mic and I must not change because the pinout is different (begining by the point):
Sound.L/Sound.R/Mic/Ground.
The others like Samsung, LG, etc. the pinout is:
Sound.L/Sound.R/Ground/Mic.
If we chage it the sound is bad because it return by Mic, not by ground. The Mic sound is also bad
Or your problem is another?

People here are talking about phone mic. And that when they talk people do not understand them because of noise cancellation chops up their voices and removes some part of it.
I have the same problem, others have trouble to hear my voice!
I think I was the first to put this question and until now, not a single question was effective... I think it's like tommyxoft said... With some peolpe the secondary microphone erases some voice parts, leaving voice muffled... I guess it is related to the tone of our voice...
I sent my X5 to be serviced and when I got it back I tested "the bad mic thing" again with the stock ROM and everything was fine. Everyone could hear me loud and clear. Then, I rooted the device and flashed Oxygen 2.2.2 and I tested it again. Problem was reborn once again!!! I tried B160, B130 v8, Miui also with same results. Obviously, it's a software thing but I don't want my X5 to be unrooted and with stock ROM! So I made peace with it. The only sure thing is to cover the secondary mic with your finger when making/receiving calls. That works perfect!!!
P.S. In addition, the "hwVolumeFactor.cfg" file is missing. It is not located in the "/system/etc/hwVolumeFactor.cfg" directory anymore. I've searched all folders with no luck. Any ideas???
You can disable secondary microphone by sellotape

In call issues

I'm running beanstalk on my ls980, and when I'm in call the speaker is far too loud even at the lowest volume and it echos on the receiving end. I've read that this is a common problem with aosp/cm roms. I've searched but couldn't find anything, so I just wanted to check if there is a fix for either of these things besides flashing a different rom

[Q] microphone issue

So I know there are other threads with the same issue but mine is a bit different. I found out that when I'm talking to someone on my lg g2(d802) cellphone they can't hear me so I tried everything and I found out that they can hear me perfectly when I turn on the speaker mode while calling(getting the persons voice played through the phones bottom speaker), so I think thats really weird because my microphone won't work without a speaker mode on while calling. It's not a rom related issue because noone using rom FR 2.0.1 Didn't had this problem and also idk if this is related with this but in the recovery I'm unable to flash any zip and also first time when I installed the recovery i updated it with flashing new recovery 2.8.4.0 and my phone somehow automaticly downgraded it to the one i had before and I'm unable to flash new twrp recovery/viper4andoid/etc... Error message is different every time which is also weird. For example for twrp it is something like asster failed(run_program). Idk if that is related with microphone issue but I wanted to provide all data. Also I have a KK baseband. Thanks for reading.
I have the same problem "reversed" .
On speakerphone my microphone doesn't work. No matter what rom I use.
Would be nice if someone has figured it out.
It's weird. I tried everything and still the same problem. It appeared just after I flashed a new rom and I tried going back to stock and still the same issue
hi, sorry for my little english.
my lg g2 d802 4.4.2 had this problem, they can hear me but like i'm far away. try to stop voice control in all pages in Google search.
when i had this problem vocal and video record don't go, it appears i'm using microphone on another app. i stop vocal control and the phone now i going better!

Had this issue on an iPhone and a Windows Phone. Microphone is probably shot. Different mic used for when it is on speakerphone compared to calls. Usually cannot record video audio either...sucks.

Samsung galaxy s4 (9505) Problem with mic

So guys after I flashed the Cyanogenmod 12 on my galaxy s4 I noticed some problems with the mic.
For example:
In call, People are complaining that the hear themselves (echo)
In videorecording, the sound is too dirty like there is no noise cancelation at all.
In sound recording, the levels of input when I am recording are going to the red all the time
I checked some solutions but none worked for me.
I do not have the mixer_paths.xml neither the audio_platforms_info.xml. Then, I tried to change some setting into the build.pro file and neither there.
Also, I don't want to roll back to the stock rom because I do not want to back up everything and then install them again and etc.
Any suggestions ?
Are you sure the mic holes are not dirty and filled with dust? You got one in the top and one in the bottom.
Answer
Yes I am pretty sure! I opened and cleaned the mics ! The problem started when I flashed cyanogenmod 12

Kushan CM is old and discontinued I think.
Switch to the official CM13 or other roms based on it.
