http://forum.xda-developers.com/hua...t/android-7-emui-5-0-vns-l31-l21-l23-t3513816
Downloading a finite time for the installation.

5. The phone is switched off
Now do not respond to the Recovery / eRecovery / Download
The lack of any sign of life.
If anyone had a similar case or has already been solved and have not found it sorry and please reply to this topic, I care about the time and not on the specifics links to sites such .. "how to". Specifics, please, thank you in advance!
Does ADB fastboot work?
I have the same problem, my phone goes only on "download mode " (Power button, vol+ and vol -). If i connect it to PC, i can hear the sound when a usb device is connected
Try this... Extract the sdcard...
Put it into another phone...in the sd card...create a folder and call it"dload"...in that folder put the UPPDATE.app file from the last Marshmallow update.
Extract the sd card from that another phone and put it into the P9 Lite. Shutdown the phone...and then press volume +,volume - and power at the same time till start. Let me know if that work later...

I had the same thing with mine, only way of getting it back to life is with the dc phoenix. 15 euro later and the phone was back to erecovery screen in about 3 minutes.

Hi, my problem is with the L31,
I've trying to downgrade from Nougat to MM. I saw on the thread this steps and i followed:
"Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash system system.img
Fastboot flash cust cust.img (This one is in the second zip from badwolf nougat download)
Then I flashed badwolfs recovery b2 as that one lets me transfer files from pc to phone and followed instructions from htcmania from here".
The problem is that i didn't reach to downgrade and when i try to reinstall Nougat by TWRP i get this error messages:
" E: Unknow comand (errno) update_huawei-pkg_from_ota_zip: update package from zip failed"
"Updater process ended with error: 7
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/DLoad/Update.zip'
Updating partition details...
...done"
Now my phone stays freeze on the huawei logo and the flashtool doesn't even recognize my device.
Can someone help me with this matter, please?
Thanks

Hi,
I was at work Sunday night when the phone offers me an update, not wanting to lose my data I re-growth that has Tuesday morning during my last round (which takes me roughly 25/30 minutes ). So I run the update and go round when I come back I have the phone on the screen of blocked boot ...
Considering I'm looking since yesterday, I have already tried many tutorials that did not work.
I tried everything flashed like to start from zero but nothing worked. I have every time a message like: failed can't install image not signed OR dtb not found ...
I have access at fastboot and nothing else.
There's way to save this phone I for 3 months or it is good to wedge a table ?
Thx in advance
edit :
ok, i do this
http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2015/10/how-to-root-asus-zenfone-2-laser-ze500kl.html
and this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66894780&postcount=5
and i have now acces to recovery mode
Edit 2 :
http://www.asuszenfoneblog.com/2015/04/how-to-flash-asus-zenfone-2-via-adb.html with the firware Version V13.10.7.1(Andriod M) https://www.asus.com/support/Download/39/1/0/20/KsY29RCpsJ2bea9O/32/
but after reboot i have the message : ERROR : Can't load invalid boot image !
i lose th recovery and i can't flash the boot ( remote dtb not found ) ...
edit 3 :
the phone has restarts with the original firmware but I have so manipulated that I do not know what I did
I remember using the following links : http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2015/09/how-to-flash-asus-zenfone-2-laser.html ans the stock rom for 550KL
when I reinstall the rom of origin, such would not boot and I had to boot the mod_boot.img picture (Flashtool boot mod_boot.img), which launches the phone and now more problem. It remains to remove the root which should be easier than the rest.
@Genux888 This link takes to ZE500KL's firmware downloads https://www.asus.com/support/Download/39/1/0/20/KsY29RCpsJ2bea9O/32/
Your phone model is ZE550KL but you first attempted to flash MM ROM of ZE500KL
Thats why you got error: invalid boot.img and you lost recovery.
I don't know where you got mod_boot.img from. Neverthless, here's the simplest fix-
1. Download ZE550KL's Stock_boot_recovery.zip
This zip contains stock signed recovery.img and boot.img. Extract it and copy both .img files to the folder where you have adb and fastboot files.
Download correct firmware for your ZE550KL of the correct SKU. You can find your SKU on your phone's box.
WW SKU : Download ZE550KL's firmware v1.17.40.1531 for WW SKU only
Let me know if your phone's SKU is not WW
Copy the firmware zip (UL-Z00L-WW-1.17.40.1531-user.zip) to your external sd card.
2. Connect your phone to computer and Reboot phone to fastboot mode.
3. Now run the following commands
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot oem reboot-recovery
3. Third command should reboot your phone to recovery mode.
Now, in recovery mode-
A) select "wipe cache partition" then select yes
B) select "apply update from sdcard" then select "UL-Z00L-WW-1.17.40.1531-user.zip" and finally select "yes"

Removed, putback battery & followed all steps, successfully installed 1531 rom

I did the following-
Input: "Wipe cache partition"
Output: E: unable to mount /asdf (invalid argument)
Input : "mount /system"
Input: "wipe cache partition"
Output: Cache wipe complete
E: unable to mount /asdf
E: Can't open /asdf/recovery/last_log
This shows that I am able to wipe cache after mounting /system (though it doesnt make sense)
I didn't wipe data as I don't want to setup my device again. You may try if wiping data works after mounting /system. Alternatively, you can flash stock 1.15's recovery (download from post #2)
and flash in fastboot mode using
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
(assuming you recovery.img file is present in the folder where you have fastboot files)
And, here on XDA, we hit "thanks" good button if a post was helpful to us.
Sorry to reply so late but I managed to unlock my phone has put version 5.0, the update to 6.0, UNLOCK the boot, root the phone and install the TWRP may close 2 or 3 hours after my last post.
thank you.
i really like it when people post all the steps taken and links in their problem posts.
this is great.
(no, that is NOT sarcasm)
The best solution out there for zoold 550kl

Stock recovery for MM?
Anyone have stock recovery for MM upgrade from LP?
Problem Not Solved
I am Also facing same type of problem but the difference is :
- I am only able to enter fastboot mode only when i am connecting my phone to pc via datacable.
- After flashing recovery.img and boot.img also i am not be able to go to recovery mode..
Can someone please Help..
I've seen you've tried a lot.
I'd suggest you try this... As long as you can send your phone to fastboot and can pc/add your way through you'll be able to unbrick it. This takes a bit of time as you'll be dealing with two huge downloads (system.img and stock rom) but it should do the trick.
Follow the guide here:

The guide at https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-80274-1-1.html talks about flashing boot.img first then a huge (1.7GB) system.img second then recovery.img last.
So it could mean the boot.img and system.img needs to be dealt with first before you have any chances of getting your recovery to work.
Follow the steps closely, I've been able to fix a brick with it twice.
NO way to boot into Recovery or Fastboot!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phone got bricked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
When connected to PC(Windows), I only get 8 local disk partitons (ext4) asking to format!!!!!!!!!!!
And one with image partition(BOOT)
What to do now to regain access to either fastboot or to recovery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE Reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOLVED!
Hi all i just bricked my phone : P9-lite VNS-L31
I managed to unlock bootloader, install twrp and get root permission. Phone worked great. Then i tried to flash xposed and the operation fails due to not enough memory space (!! i have 6gb) and get stuck in bootloop. I made all the possible things i knowed. Tried to use xposed-unistaller.zip (getting other errors like: "no such file o direcory") , wipe cache, dalvik and data and i try also to reflash stock recovery, and to relock bootloader (i can't do that.. why? i get FAILED <remote: command not allowed>) because erecovery and HiSuite can't restore my phone. What can i do?? It's a simple bootloop but i cant restore it. Please help me i have just bought the phone and now i'm very desperate.
I really hope some can help,
Thank you
Can you flash the stock rom through SD card?
Copy the stock rom file to this path: sd card\dload\UPDATE.APP,
Then, presss Volume + , Volume -, and the power keys to force upgrade your phone.
Hi, i solved my problem flashing system.img extracted by an official firmware. Everything ok. If someone need it i can write a little guide now to restore bricked p9-lite with custom recovery and unlocked bootloader (the normal procedure does not work)

So, i think i can help you to fix your phone.
First of all you need fastboot. So check fastboot drivers on your pc and make sure they work
Now download the stock firmware for VNS-L31 here : http://www.androidvillaz.com/2016/0...vns-l31-to-marshmallow-6.0-b100-firmware.html - It's the only version ready to download and an asian version but flashing only system you'll not notice it. All languages available, no differences at all.
Download and install this tool : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3262545
So using something like 7zip extract the UPDATE.APP file in your desktop for example.
Launch HuaweiUpdateExtractor and select the update.app.
You need to extract SYSTEM.IMG so right click on it and select extract selected.
Now, turn your p9lite in fastboot mode (power off, press vol - and power) and connect it to your pc.
Now launch this : "fastboot flash system "PATH/system.img" " . Remember to replace "PATH/system.img" with the path of your extracted system.img file including the name of the file.
Wait about 3 minutes.
When flash finalize, boot in recovery. Wipe cache and dalvik and reboot your smartphone. It should boot now.
If not, perform a full wipe. (cache, dalvik and data).
Hope this can help.

with pressing volume - and power i enter into erecovery from there i should use fastboot to flash system.img ? sorry for being dum
edit: when in erecovery (volume- and power) typing fastboot flash system with full path , does nothing .. only saying waiting for device
edit2: no matter what i do , i cant fastboot flash system .. waiting for device .. only thing i can do is enter TWRP (also got root) , enter Erecovery and thats it .. phone only boots to huawei animation along wiht sound and thats it .. i tried adb sideload from TWRP but no help also .. guess there is nothing i can do right ?
Edit3: so i booted via TWRP to bootloader , used that fastboot command , flashed system , wiped cache , and now it is looking that phone is booting up !
thanks bro , any way i can pay you back ? cus you da MVP here !
EDIT4: well phone booted , rebooted , and now i cant enter recovery it boots into erecovery and i cant do nothing else
EDIT5: got into fastboot menu in phone , it says update system again , Error Func NO : 10 (boot image) Error NO : 2 (load failed)
EDIT6: somehow made it into fastboot , somehow flashed recovery , managed to restore my phone from back up , but sadly enough i cant restore it via google , since when i try to log in it says waiting .. dam this phone . i had galaxy S .. got this huawei just for pokemon go (which is pretty ****ty without gyro) FML right
EDIT7: lost most of my hairs .. some of them were ripped out in some anger explosions .. chewed of some of my nails .. but somehow i made it ! now if i only could unroot and relock bootloader xD think im gonna take a break for now and when my nerves will calm down i may try it again . Rly wanna thank you from all of my heart for help , thanks !! your the best man , thanks again
Sorry, can you normally boot and use your phone now?
Edit: It seems you can boot. Now you have restored your twrp recovery. I don't know why you have problems with google log in, but hey now it boots!

Hi, if you don't know what is fastboot maybe you can approach it the easy way.
Download and install this for the correct drivers : http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/HiSuite_en/index.html
Download and extract to a folder this : https://mega.nz/#!B4tATA5D!-TseQ9A-TPEQhzNQRXsT_cV2i4T7qYYLadceW0fM8k0
Put your phone in fastboot mode : Turn it off. Connect it to your pc . Long press vol - and power until it boots in fastboot mode (white screen with a green android and other stuff). If you want you can boot in fastboot from TWRP recovery : restart -> bootloader.
Copy your extracted SYSTEM.IMG in the root path of the tool (we can assume its name is system.img).
Now launch the tool and press 000 and enter.
If you have done all right now you can give this : fastboot flash system system.img
Wait about 3 minutes. Perform a cache and dalvik cache wipe. Boot your phone.

Hi,
I am using the standard P9, and getting the Boot Loop also.
I attempted your instructions, and appeared to work - I got the first EMUI initialization screen - and now its gone back to how it was.
Any suggestions?
I think it should work on every phone assuming you are using the right firmware. Do you use the right firmware for the huawei P9 ?? (needless to say it's not the version i posted)).
So if you flashed the right firmware (and i'm pretty sure of this) my advice is to perform a full wipe : Cache, dalvik and data.
If you are still facing the same error consider flashing other frimware parts like boot.img ecc.
I believe so - I am pretty clueless with this stuff.
By firmware, do you mean the stock version? Because I used P9-EVAL09-EVA-B136. Don't suppose you would know the right firmware I require?
I think it's the right version. I am a p9lite user so i don't know specifically the right version of the firmware but i think it's ok. Do you tried a full wipe?

I do yes
So, go in twrp recovery (turn off phone, long press vol up and power for at least 3 seconds). When you are in you will see 'WIPE' press it then do the swipe to Factory Reset. You will lost your installed apps and the relative settings but you will not lost your personal stuff such photo, music documents ecc. Let me know if you perform it and if it works =)
It appears that TWRP no longer appears. I get thr EMUI options to wipe data/factory reset. But once I do this I just get a red exclamation mark.
Does the phone need to be plugged in via USB?

Hi Have got succeeded or not, if not follow the guide.
Is your phone being detected by PC if yes then you have chances of recovering your phone.
1. Download 15 Seconds ADB and Fastboot Drivers. Visit the official XDA forum for download and installation instructions.
2. Install Huawei HiSuite which will install drivers .
3. If HiSuite doesn't install Install drivers then install universal drivers for your device .
Now connect your device to pc and open HiSuite and click on system recovery it will show options for recovery if it is success then you are fine if not then proceed to this method.
Connect your phone to PC.
Open Command Prompt in the directory where you have extracted the ADB files by holding Shift and Right Mouse Button and finally click Open Command Prompt window here in the context menu.
Completely power off your device.
While holding Volume Down button, connect your device to PC via USB cable to boot to Fastboot Mode.
1. Type the following command in ADB :
Code:
adb devices
If your device is being detected and it shows list of devices attached and its serial number.
2.Now download the firmware of the phone before your phone got bootlooped extract the update using the file here
3.Now copy the following files ( boot.img, recovery.img and system.img ,cust.img ) from the extracted files to the ADB files directory.
4.Now Execute these commands one at a time using the command prompt.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot reboot
5.Now Perform a Factory Reset if your phone got recovered.
If not then download the stock recovery of your Device and try steps 2,3,4.
Even if it doesn't get succeeded then try this option .
If your device got bootlooped while on Lollipop or Marshmallow then you have one more way to recover .
6.Now download the latest TWRP from here and boot into TWRP recovery if you cant enter TWRP recovery for this version then try the previous TWRP versions like 2.8.7 ,
7.Use the following command to flash the TWRP recovery
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
8.Then download any of the custom ROMs or ask any of the XDA members for TWRP backup for your device and flash them through Recovery.
Then Reboot your Device.
You would most probably recover your device from any of the above methods . I too had the same problem and My device was use less for almost 6 months but after several trial and error methods my device got recovered.

Did you try flashing different variant ROM ie different builds?
Actually I too got the same problem bootlooped on LP but cant flash the LP ROM back so I flashed different Region ROM.
Give a try to TWRP Method It should give you success.
Imp:
Try the previous ROM where you got Bootloop, or the version earlier to it.If it doesn't succeed try the rom which you got initially on your mobile.
PS: If your phone is being detected by your PC you have good chances of recovering your phone.
Good day everyone!
My fellow housemate managed to soft-brick his device and now im trying to think of a fix.
The device used to have Android 7.0 installed (EMUI 5.0). Then he installed TWRP + some custom 6.0 based rom, which resulted in a soft brick.
What i've tried so far:
1. Tried multiple update.app packages (C432B170 and C432B130 SHOULD be the ones i need, since the device is european). Update always fails with message "Incompatibility with current version. Please download the correct package".
2. Extracted BOOT.img, RECOVERY.img, SYSTEM.img and CUST.img and tried flashing them with fastboot. SYSTEM.img fails with message FAILED (remote: sparse flash write failure), CUST.img fails with some error connected with partitions.
3. Tried the downgrade package from Nougat to Marshmallow. Update.app still doesnt work with the same error as mentioned earlier, however, SYSTEM.img flashed via fastboot this time, but with no success, system still only boots in eRecovery and fastboot modes.
4. Tried installing multiple TWRP recoveries, none of them seem to work. Device just wont boot in recovery mode.
Any ideas?
Best regards,
Vlad

I had the exact same problem! And I found a fix. Boot into the dload method of updating ( make sure it will give you an error, so don't have an SD card in ) then when it fails reboot. And as soon as it starts rebooting hold volume up, then it should take you to the stock recovery, then just wipe and it should be working! All the best

Booted into Huawei eRecovery and it doesnt give me an option to wipe anything, just "download latest version and recovery" via Wi-Fi, which, unfortunately, fails.

Okay. Try again. This time go into e recovery, then reboot and the second you touch that reboot button you hold volume up. Also one question. Can u boot into fastboot and ADB recognises your device ?

Okay that helps a huge load. What you need to do is flash the nougat ROM again. You need to put the rom files into the root of ADB install location (program files/ Minimal ADB and Fastboot) in zip format. If I'm not mistaken you have update.zip and vnsXXX_Full_data (or something similar).
Then flash the firmware using this command once your connected in fastboot. I'm not sure the command. But I did some googling and can't find a solid answer. I remember doing it but I don't remember the command line.
i recently tried to downgrade my Mediapad M3 (btv-w09), but somehow screwed up...
1. rebooted in twrp and formatted system, data, cache, internal
2. i downgraded to emui 4 dload method it worked and i booted to fastmode and installed wrong twrp
3. stupidly i also relocked the bootloader
4. finnaly im stucked in a bootloop and cant enter recovery, erecovery or fastboot and not even dlload
i get 2 bootloop screens
one where you have the 3 options and one where it just saying device will boot...
maybe anyone knows how to unbrick!?
thx
yes.... you need same tools...
solved my problem
my problem was that i wanted to try the dload method, so i drained the battery but after that i could not recharge it because the tablet first boot then starts to charge and for the dload you need at least 10% .....
the solution (should work for all Huawei devices) :
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. If you have enough battery but cant boot to fastboot by pressing volume down + power button
- press volume down and plug the charging cable (which should be connected to your pc, not charger!!!)
2.If you have dont enough battery
- press volume up and plug the charging cable (which should be connected with the pc)....this will prevent a boot and let you charge your device, to try the dload method
to enter dload :
--------------------
1. from your tablet type ()()2846579()() in your calculator (landscape mode)
2. turned off tablet (bricked): volume up + volume down + power button
Some Links for those who wants to downgrade their M3 to EMUI4:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Rollback files can be found here:
https://consumer.huawei.com/it/support/tablets/mediapad-m3-8/
- TWRP
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=125388
be carefull for EMUI4 only download twrp_BTV-W09_greatslon or twrp_BTV-DL09_greatslon.img (twrp_BTV-DL09_5_greatslon.img & twrp_BTV-W09_5_greatslon.img are just for EMUI5 )
- Root
Magisk : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
SuperSU for EMUI4 : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754458671
PS: EMUI4 is 1000x better then EMUI5 for the M3
Great post. Wish it had appeared much earlier.
I screwed up and tried to use the downgrade-to-Marshmallow packages whilst already in Marshmallow, thus soft-bricking the M3.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m3/help/m3-apsabnormal-bricked-t3779100
“Volume Up + Volume Down and Power Button” method no longer works. The machine no longer boots into Android.
Are the partitions and e-recovery damaged and there is no way to flash the M3 now?
Any suggestions welcome!
Thanks.

No dont think that your devices is bricked, had the same problem and it worked out for me !!!
if you can boot into fastboot :

2. download Huawei Update Extractor [UPDATED: v0.9.9.5]
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
3. watch the how to use video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAtoaL6i_i0
4. extract thise .img files
- BOOT.img
- CUST.img
- RECOVERY.img
- RECOVERY2.img
- SYSTEM.img
5. flash those files zsing this commands
fastboot flash boot BOOT.img
fastboot flash cust CUST.img
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img
fastboot flash recovery2 RECOVERY2.img
fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img
fastboot reboot
if you can't boot into fastboot :
-----------------------------------------------
- press volume up and plug the charging cable (which should be connected to a pc)....this will prevent a boot and let you charge your device and wait till your tablet charges and it will boot into erecovery then try online download or the dload method
good luck

Many thanks for your encouraging reply.
However, I am not sure I can flash
*****5. flash those files zsing this commands

fastboot flash recovery2 RECOVERY2.img
fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img

because my M3 has a locked bootloader (the bootloader has never been unlocked), did not have USB debugging selected, has never been rooted, and no TWRP installed.
Anyway, if I can get into fastboot mode, I'll give method (1) a try. Should I connect the M3 to a PC and use ADB to flash?
Thanks again.

Sam10000 - wondering if this resolved your problem? I'm in the same boat, although it looks like the rollback files are no longer available for download.
Sorry wrong forum. I already edited message and post it other place. Please remove this.
