So I just rooted my Aquos (thanks tewilove) and my first order of business was to find a stock settings menu so I can finally enable ART runtime. However, I've looked through several deodexed roms as well as custom roms for several devices, and can't find any settings.apk file. Is that something baked into the system?

I searched and could easily find stock build.props but I'm pretty sure than CM's is tweaked. Whilst messing with Android Tuner (just got the app, am more familiar with ROM Toolbox) and tapped one click optimization without thinking. Well, I've tried again and again (yes after a reboot too) to reset everything, but the build.prop just won't reset. I'm guessing for some reason it never backed up properly. Perhaps it was a mistake to kill the app when it was acting up and stuck on modifying the build.prop. Device boots fine, and works fine, but I wish to undo whatever was done. I like it the way it was with CyanogenMod originally anyhow. i don't want any unexpected surprises tweaking the build.prop. I have tweaked build.props before and actually do it with a zip to enable LTE, but no other tweaks. Like hiding notifications. So I am simply requesting an unmodified Cyanogenmod build.prop I can download and apply to my Nexus 4 to undo any unwanted changes. Preferably one from the 6/14/13 CM 10.1 Nightly (the latest one). Thanks!

Why not just download the CM zip that you would flash via recovery, unzip it, and look at the build.prop there?

I can do that too. Thanks. I will however upload it to Dropbox and share it here in case anyone runs into a similar issue I did. That way nobody has to download the entire thing for a single thing and add more stress to CyanogenMod's servers.
Build.prop for 6/14/13 CM 10.1 Nightly
Here. This is for future reference in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
I'm finding it pretty hard to move over to an AOSP based rom because of the lack of some really amazing features of the Stock LG rom. Most have been ported over to AOSP but I haven't seen anything on the Wireless Storage option that creates a network share to send/receive files to/from the device with ease.
Anyone know what app does this and if it'll work on AOSP roms?
Update: Found apk in /system/app.
Have You tried SSHDroid?
Did anybody test this apk?
If you search for "smb server" in the Play Store, the first couple of results look like they might work. I haven't tried either of them.
Also, simply posting an APK here from a stock ROM isn't likely to work, since it's probably odexed (if there is a corresponding *.odex file where you found the *.apk file, that's what I mean). Not to mention, it probably depends on other system libraries.
I installed two kernels on my Nexus4 device(which is running on CM11 20140708-snapshot m8) namely franco and hells core kernels respectively. But the problem with both the kernels are that super user permission could not be granted to some of the apps namely FKU,trickstermod, gravity box...I tried wiping the dalvik and data caches but no good news.
Its would be really helpful if somebody advice me a solution.
Plus it would be good to know what to do to get maximum battery back up on my device.[/SIZE]
I wouldn't know why you installed GravityBox in CM, when you could have almost all those built in CM itself. And the kernel managers, they (like GravityBox) could be conflicting with CM's built in settings. Just use the built in "Performance" section found in "Settings" (enable developer tools to see it) and you should be fine.
Hi all. I used to be able to easily disable apps on a rooted stock ODEXED ROM, by simply locating the application's odex file, in Root Explorer, and renaming it .NOdex. But the new lolipop uses the ART system, and the ROM I'm on (MetalROM) is a slightly modified stock AO6, and is DEODEXED. So my previous trick, no longer applies. Anyone know how to remove, or otherwise disable an unwanted app, that won't turn off. Specifically; Geo News, My Magazine, and Sprint Zone.
Thanks!

How do I go about enabling permissions settings within touchwiz lollipop ROM main settings? I've scene it within ROMs like devbase by _alexandr and some other stock based lollipop ROMs. Sure it has something to do with features.xml but can't find it in my search's. Any help greatly appreciated.
This can only be done if rooted. There are a few options if so.
1. Download permissions manager on the android market.
2. Get a rom like cyanogen instead that already has it enabled.
3. By far the best option! Installed xposed module and then get xprivacy. Be careful because you need the correct install files to get this running nicely. Xprivacy has security features unrivaled by anything.

Though I've tried a couple of these options, I solved my issue. Thought it was a switch that could be toggled on our off through some settings file within root directory, but it was actually a mod made for _alexanr dev base ROM which modifies a system apk to display permission settings within main settings, originally made by Looki. But thank you for your response. I'm still think about xprivacy, is something I used a long time ago but does look like a strong option for managing permissions.
