The software should be the same so it should be unlockable.

I guess I need to buy then lol can anybody else confirm?

I had my eye on the enhanced version, but because of concerns with software compatibility with the regular axon 7 I decided to forego.
There's no guarantee the bootloader will be the same, so buyer beware

Yeah I'm leary as well. Zte did tell me they had a 30 day return period so I guess we could try lol

They do void warranty of rooted or unlocked. So the bigger question for me would be if it can be restored to stock and eliminate traces of unlock.

Rooted Nexus 4 sent to Google.

So yesterday evening I sent in my Nexus 4 to get a replacement due to my battery dying on me out of no where. The phone was rooted with aokp installed. I tried everything to try and boot it up and get it into fast boot to unroot but there was no luck there. So my question is have any nexus 4 owners that have had to get an RMA send there's in rooted? If so was Google able to get your phone up therefore causing you to pay for the replacement?

every device that ive ever sent back to google to get rma'd has been bootloader unlocked, root, custom rom/kernel. never a problem. last one was my nexus 7, stopped charging. generally, if its hardware related, theyll take care of it.

It's a Nexus..
I highly doubt Google will notice or care.. :good:
I don't see you having an issue it's a hardware fault.

At least 1 person has already been denied RMA because they unlocked the bootloader, so they care.

I find that rather odd... I wonder if there was more to the story..
In the past I have sent Google unlocked, rooted, and custom ROM'd Nexus 7, a Galaxy Nexus, and a Nexus 10...
Never heard a peep from them..

I can't find the thread (guy probably deleted it) but basically the guy told the rep he unlocked the phone and he was then referred to some other department that then denied his RMA.

Say that I got approved for a RMA and when they receive my phone they don't spot any problem? Will I need to pay the full price of the new phone they send to me?

T-mobile offering nexus 6p soon?

Nexus 5 and 6 became available at t-mobile between Nov. 14-19. So I'm assuming 6p will become available in the next week or so.. Still not sure if I want this device or not considering new devices will be equipped with the new SD820 or exynos 8890..

It's been said before that they wouldn't be sold in stores, take that for what ever you think. However people are still waiting on their pre orders so I highly doubt it.

Did some more research and what you said is true. I just wish I can finance their phone without having to join project fi since I'm already with T-Mobile... And I know I can finance it through huawei but there's an interest, I might have to do more research.
Why don't you call t-mobile yourself and find out?

I called T-Mobile and I was told that they are not carrying Nexus 6p or Nexus 5x anytime soon and I can purchase it from Google. I even left a comment on T-Mobile official YouTube and was told same story.
By the time 820 devices are out they'll be an 830 or 850 ..... You'll never have the newest

Speed of innovation is faster than Evolution of devices these days. Chip manufacturers are always a step ahead of the Device Manufacturers, its like a Cat & Mouse race.

Please help my decision nexus 6p

I'm really needing a bit of info. Thank you sincerely to all that reply.
OK I'm currently on sprint with a note 5.
I'm wanting to stay with sprint but I like a variety of roms for my phone.
My question is if I buy a nexus 6p unlocked can I flash roms for other carriers and still get sprint data and calling. Or will I still be limited to just roms built for sprint nexus 6p?
It may be an ignorant question to some. But I have never owned a 6p or any phone from outside my carrier. Thank you
Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
You dont need Sprint specific ROMs, although you might have issues updating PRLs on custom ROMs (dont know if that is still an issue).
The only carrier you need to worry about in that aspect is Project Fi.

Yeah, Im running a custom ROM on my Nexus 6P right now and it appears to have a couple of Sprint Specific APKs (SprintDM, etc) so you should be golden.
I'm on Sprint and so far there is no problem using PureNexus and Dirty Unicorns ROMs.
Sprint does not work correctly with ResurectionRemix.

one reason why i should go 6p?

for 2 years ive been a oneplus guy and i love it , but recently its been falling apart (replaced mic , screen , camera) and it just isnt what it was! Willi get the same experience with this?
XDA Development! Happy Flashing!! Oops 2 reasons
It's a good phone. And it doesn't require rooting to be a good phone. It's good right out of the box.
Sent from a 128th Legion Stormtrooper 6P
well it doesnt require rooting , but i want that available , i want unocked (carrier) , unlocked (boot loader) fully customizable , no bloat from carrier or manufacturer , usually only buy these kinds of phones , i know the nexus 6p is and same with the pure and 1+1 always has been , when did they release the 6 p in the states? i shouldnt have any problem with straight talk ? its ported to att
You might consider OnePlus Three (Coming soon).
Nope bought a 6p ill know in a couple days whether its the real deal or not

I have got a OPO and you will definitely get a better experience with 6p..Also the reason for getting 6p, You wasted enough time to post on xda to ask for reason instead of thinking one yourself
Oh i get great ideas through xda , helps making a decision

PCMAG Suggests Verizon Bootloader Was Unlocked

Even though we tested a Verizon Pixel, the bootloader was not locked. That means rooting and installing ROMs is possible; that should allay some fears about Google turning the Pixel into a closed realm.
http://www.pcmag.com/review/348519/google-pixel-xl
? soon enough we'll get a verification from the people who are getting it from vzw on 10/20. Sadly my date is 10/28.
That's great news! I pre-ordered from Verizon to replace my note 7. I kept reading that it might be locked so i looked into ordering from google but the Pixel XL was sold out by the time I tried to.

Same here I've been having second thoughts about my pre order with Verizon since the rumor was the bootloader was locked. I've been checking Google store a few times a day to see if they got any in stock. I hope this is true. Is there a way to check quick while in in the Verizon store when my pre order comes in on the 20th? Before i give them my note 7 ?
I put all my money on this one being just like the Nexus 6. Guess I should get a lottery ticket today.

One minute it's locked then next it's unlocked. We should all know soon enough. But knowing Big Red I would expect it to be locked.

It was never locked. All of that was fear mongering based on speculation, a rep said this or that which is unreliable, and one who claims they had prerelease firmware locked down.
Meanwhile we have someone with a Verizon Pixel in hand who has confirmed its unlockable.

You will want to find instructions for the Pixel because it's new hardware and software, but it's fairly straightforward. Here is a video link from the Nexus 6P for reference.

I'm wondering if it only locks when it's activated on a Verizon SIM. I might be grasping at straws and hoping here. I wonder if anyone can start the phone up with a T-Mobile and/or AT&T sim in and see what happens.
Take sim out before powering on to check. That's my best guess and what I'll do.
