As I said, the back button is pressing it self, and sometimes the home and the recent apps button start pressing by themselves. Please help, this is very annoying!
I cleaned the screen so its not that.
Maybe the screen had a litlle dent that keeps activating it ?

I looked for similar topic but couldn't find it,I can't use power button on my hd anymore,it got broken beacuse of pressing it very often during day to turn the screen on and off...I was wondering if there is an application to assign power button function to home key so when pressing it the screen turns off and on?
Hi, having the same problem, POWER BUTTON is defect/broken, it doesn't have a resistance when I push it in. I can still switch the device on and off, but I have to press the power button hard and the power button does not feel spring loaded any more.
Are there more people having this issue and is there anybody haveing it send for warranty repair already?
Mine is a German O2 device.
Thanks

Hello everyone,
I cleaned the HTC HD2s screen with a wet cloth,
and then the problem began.
Actually, a long press on the power button should open the phone options ( restart, power off, screenshot, and more )
But when i press the power button ( where the screen should open ) the options open instead.
The back button is my power on button now.
And when i scroll the home screen its hogging at one point and wont run.
I assume that a bit water went in my phone.
In short words - my HD2 is playing crazy!
Im not good at explaining my problem....
But thats very annyoing.
Any solutions?
Hi guys, I'll go direct to the problem.
My power button is broken. I can still use it to open/close the phone and lockscreen/wake the phone up. The problem is its very sensitive. One time it went bootloop - (not bricked) like the power button was held down (even if Im not touching it). Sometimes if I just brush my finger on top of it, or tap very very gently (without it clicking), my phone would restart. There are even times when it shuts down just by me putting it down on the table.
Is there anyway I can at least disable the power button while the phone is turned on? (I can use the home button to wake, and a widget to lock).
Or is there any quick and easy way to fix the button (without requiring any technical knowledge on electronics)?
Thank you very much to whoever can help.

Click to collapse
Either pop the button out & fix it back in again or you will need to get it replaced
Looks like I'll just have to buy another phone.
I hear something moving inside when I shake the phone.
I replaced the digitezer and the back button (and sometimes the menu button, but mostly the back button) keeps pressing itself.
I get the heptic feedback as if I pressed the button, but I never did.
I took another look at my installation and everything looks good. I added some electric tape between the cables for the back and menu buttons to prevent shorting, I run a factory reset on the phone but the issue remains.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
I'm running android 5.0.1
