T-Mobile V20 KDZ File - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Does anyone have a V20 KDZ file I can use to fix my phone all I can get it in is download mode and that's about it? If I try to get into the boot loader it goes straight into the screen with the red triangle. If possible there's any methods of fixing it through fastboot please tell me.

Ok somehow I managed to bring it back by doing some witchcraft in the fastboot. Sorry about this now unnecessary post.

[Q] LG G2 D802 Stuck on LG Logo

Hello guys, i got a big problem with my lg g2.
When I turn it on, it gets stuck at the Lg Logo and nothing happens from there.
I tried going to download mode and flashing a stock rom but to no avail.
I tried this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
but when the phone actually restarts at the end of the process, it gets stuck at the logo again and the light keeps on flashing.
I also tried the TOT method to flash the mobile to stock rom but i always get "LAF retrieveGPT() failed"
Every time i switch the mobile on, it stays at the lg logo
Does anyone knows what i should do now?
Thanks in advance for any help given.
Have you try to hard reset after kdz flash?
Did the hard reset but when the phone starts, it gets stuck at the logo screen again.
I just tried to flash again with another TOT and it actually worked until the phone restarts by itself and gets stuck at the logo again.
That is, on the flash tool it shows that the phone is restarting to complete the installation but the phone just gets stuck at the logo and then after a few seconds the flash tool shows that the process has failed.
Any suggestions?
I'm having the exact same problem:
When I turn the phone on, it is stuck on the LG screen
I cannot enter recovery mode (holding power + volume down...)
I cannot enter download mode - it shows fastboot screen instead
I'm completely lost as what to do??? I think I've just wasted a phone
I can't do any of the fixes that I can find because I'm not able to enter download mode, the LGMobile Support Tool wont recognize my phone etc
Hello mate, there's an easy fix to be able to get download mode.
Download this and extract it in your local disk ( C:\boot )
((seems like i can't post links before 10 posts))
Go on google and download fastboot to your pc and find a laf.img for your phone varient
Then open cmd and type:
cd C:\boot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash laf laf.img
fastboot reboot
That will fix your download mode immediately.
But I do not know any further. Once you get access to download mode, try flashing the kdz or even TOT files and let me know if you are able to pass the logo screen.
Cheers

Sorry, I don't know what you're saying. If you can somehow direct me to the link that would be great! :good:
if you give me the name of another thread, I should be able to search for it
I finally found it lol.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595
Just follow the steps but you need to find the laf.img for your phone varient. The laf in the link is not for D802.

that worked! I'm now using the LGMobile support tool to try and reinstall the original firmware - I will let you know how it goes once that's complete
EDIT: It said that software install was complete, but I'm still stuck on the LG Boot screen
EDIT 2: just tried the steps from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 - it now loads the LG boot screen, then and android guy (with hexagonal shape?) and blue bar underneath, and then back to the LG Boot screen
IM GOING CRAZY HERE!!! what am I supposed to do to fix this
Yeah, i'm stuck just like you.
Just sent it for repairs at a local shop because I also was going nuts over this.
If it becomes alright, I'll ask the guy to explain what he did and I'll write it here in a few days.
Patience my brother.

Thanks :good: I have already done this (as you can see above), however I cannot complete the last step which is flashing the new firmware. I'm still left with the LG logo after doing this
Any updates?
Well guys, its been a long time since I'm having this problem and I didn't find any solution.
Anyone knows how i can fix this?
Or any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Killed my D800. I could really use some help!

So I tried installing Cloudy G2 3.0 the recommended way, with the patches and stuff. I initially did a dirty flash from stock lollipop but the ui wouldn't load to I went for a full wipe. At some point during the install, something messed up and I was sent to fastboot. That's all I could get to, so I wrote over the .img files to restore the partitions and now I have access to the factory reset menu and the hardware key settings menu. The factory reset menu just freezes at "factory reset processing" if I try to use it. When I boot normally, I get to the LG logo where it freezes. No pulsing light or anything. Plugging it in at that point allows the computer to recognize it but no adb or fastboot options. LG Flashtool recognizes that the phone is there but won't flash any .tot file. If I try a D800 tot I get wrong model and if I try a korean tot I get a cross dl error. I really need help, I screwed up!
Edit: It was tricky, but I was somehow able to get into download mode. Still same as before though.
Edit 2: Seems the Korean .tot I had was for the F320K and I needed the F320S.. will download and see how it goes.
EDIT 3: Jesus f*cking christ! Finally! Got the correct KDZ and found the correct software. It's installing!
Now, should I keep letting the phone think it's Korean? Are there any perks or downsides?
EDIT 4: Boot loop. It loops for a while, optimizes apps, loads the welcome screen, crashes, and repeats. No access to download mode or fastboot except for one time.

What Options Have I Got At This Stage With A Bricked D802

I installed autorec recovery.as soon as i booted I realized the presence of white lines which have never gone.I cant flash any zip file such as the JDI kernal. It cannot enter into download mode even after erasing recovery, laf, aboot, boot and flashing back stock aboot, boot and laf.I cannot see the LGE port so I cannot tot it back neither does kdz flashing work since it cannot go into download mode.Adb doesn't show up.
What I got is only fastboot + white lines (they only cleared up once by luck so I could see fastboot mode on the phone) .
Please help me Un-Brick it ASAP.look at the questions below.
Thanks
-Should I re-flash all 12 partitions via fastboot (use twrp as recovery).
-It is written d802 on the cover but could the motherboard be different inside?
-Supposing I was to flash 16 GB to a 32 GB phone or vise versa would it affect anything.
-What are my options at this stage and what is the best method to approach this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/mega-tut-how-to-fix-bricked-lg-g2-t3055033
Would This Guide Work? I have seen in other guides where they warn about replacing the original recovery but rather suggest you use twrp.
-I think this is a refurbished device.
UPDATE
ok So I managed to fix the white lines and they have completely disappeared which is a plus point.I can finally see download mode for a second before it disappears.I can also go to factory reset mode after holding vol down and power but I have not reset it yet.
Any fix for 1 second download mode?Once I get to download mode i can tot back.
if you have custom recovery try different kernels, wipe, flash bootloader you must be on download mode to revert to stock.
at this point if you cant use the download mode at all, you must try riffbox(search on google)

Holy Mother Of.......The RIFFBOX is crazy....i do XBOX 360 modding and i know the difficulty..hehe.....Actually I see download mode for a second and it disappears........which custom recovery can i flash via fastboot, philz or twrp and which ones are the right ones to download.....i am already pissed off at autorec.i feel I am getting close after I cleared up white lines now only fastboot stands in the way.I know many people who mess up and enter bulk mode at this stage and I wanna avoid.I also cant find the right kdz file for my LG cause the imei is a spoofed one that is invalid in the first place so i am hoping for a miracle at this stage. Thanks for the help.......what do you think I can do apart from riffbox?

Just try everything you see on xda. I never faced a 1 sec download mode before and believe me i bricked(hard/soft and beyond) many times and came back, it aint die. Once download mode is broke there must something really not working. In other saying you need to revert to stock. Also, if you dont have custom recovery i also dont believe you can flash a custom recovery, you could try adb push laf.img recovery.img aboot.img etc. But its going be hard bricked.
Man i was thinking i faced every difficulty with d802 but you proved me wrong
I pushed the three files that's when the white lines cleared up and download mode came for a second....there is a similar case on Android forums where they download mode comes for a second. The worst part is the IMEI was patched to a very u usual IMEI on the back cover, it's not even an LG imei so i can't find the write kdz file to extract partitions from....I have to rely on trial and error......at this stage I don't wanna enter qhsusb mode aka hard brick...... I just have to revive download mode.......actually when I attempt to boot laf. IMG I get a dtb error ?any thing I can try
So I just wanna confirm this. if i flash any custom recovery say cwm (of course for lg g2 d802) via fastboot mode using the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img will it actually install the recovery or what.and then to enter recovery i have to essentially hard reset (vol down + power ) so as to enter recovery.now if there is no recovery it will hard reset and i will enter qhsusb mode which i dont want.So does flashing a recovery image via fastboot install the recovery or what. Please assist.

How were you able to fix the white lines issue @sohailsameja?

Lg boot loop no recovery

Hi I have a sprint lg v20. Shows lg boot screen and loops. I try to get into recovery mode to factory reset but says recovery mode please wait then continues looping the lg logo. I have not found anything saying they had a similar problem. As far as I know there is no fastboot mode I can use. Any ideas on how I could fix it? Thanks
Did it just start out of the blue, or did you do something?
-- Brian
Can you get in to download mode? (vol+ then plug in to PC) If so, you may be able to use LGUP to flash a kdz.
Good luck! :fingers-crossed:

I'm sorry for your loss. To me it sounds like something may be physically damaged.
To elaborate a bit further, fastboot doesn't usefully exist without root, stock recovery can only wipe your userdata, and you've already said download mode reboots way too early to try anything. There is no safe way to try anything with the firmware, if it even somehow is a firmware issue. There's the leaked firehose, if you force it into 9008 mode, but that's risky and I have no personal experience with it to give more details.
Basically don't expect it to be coming back.

Without it already being rooted and the dirtysanta bootloader installed there is no fastboot mode on anything (which you would have seen if you had read the OP) but the h918 (which still can't flash with it) and us996, and you still need a working phone to actually set the options in Android to allow unlocking the bootloader.
And I'd put it at like an 80% chance it's hardware failure anyway, since it's boot looping in download mode too.
Try holding down volume down and plugging in USB.......
Same issue herewith...
LG V20 boot loop , restarting again and again , also when USB cable method is applied to enter into the Download Mode , it also restarts after sometime after showing download mode icon etc........
