My sis bought this phone and she installed a ios theme which has locked her out of her phone, it seems to have reset her lock screen and finger print login - theme says pin is 000000 but you can only put 0000 befor it says it's wrong, I have tried going to recovery so I can wipe phone all I get is a screen with fastboot or a screen that showing the phone with connect the cable picture,
What's the best way to move forward, everything I have seen says I have to activate usb debug so I can install custom recovery but I can't bypass the locks screen ?????

I have just wiped and upgraded my Galaxy s4 to 4.4.2. I would like to fully encrypt my phone and use pattern unlock so I followed this article:
(just google pattern-unlock-an-encrypted-android-phone, I can't post URL)
But even though I have tried this multiple times and unplugged the USB cable (as mentioned in the article) as soon as I hit enter to start the encryption command the screen goes black on the phone and then after about 10min the phone reboots to the unlock screen and it is still unencrypted. I have tried following other articles too but they are all the same in terms of the command you run to encrypt the phone.
Any ideas? How can I get pattern unlock to work with an encrypted Android phone? Yes I know you can't do this via the GUI but then you need to enter a silly long password every single time you want to unlock the phone which is not an option for me. I don't mind entering a long password when turning on the phone but when it comes to unlocking the phones lock screen I would like to use the pattern unlock.
Any one else had any success with this on 4.4.2? Thanks!

Flash a different stock 4.4.2 . maybe its missing some files.
Hello guys! I'm gonna try here before i throw it away...
The phone was crashed by a car, and is the screen is totaly, TOOOTALY cracked. It doesn't even light up.
But i can start it up, and connect it to the computer where it's found. But when i enter the directory it's just empty.
My guess is it's because i have a phonelock, and it can enter the code when the screen is crashed. Any other way to enter it, or bypass it?
All i want to recover is the pictures and music on it.
Ofc i will make a donation (paypal) to the first one who solves this case

EDIT: the phone is sadly NOT rooted :S
Read up on Odin, putting the phone in download mode, and flashing maybe a firmware to clear the lock that way.
I don't know if that would clear the data on the internal sd card or not since you only wanted items on there, but i would assume it wouldn't so maybe read up on those things

I have a problem with my "sharp softbank aquos phone 303sh" with standard rom.
I setup a pattern lock. Since I have not used the phone for some time I cannot remember the pattern anymore.
I thought an unlock with a hard reset is no problem. But I found no way to boot into recovery mode(tried power and minus button, power and plus button to boot).
Also the device did not show up in adb as a device(Windows 10/Sharp USB driver installed) but was recognized as a storage device.
The user manual says:
"Do not forget pattern, Lock No. passcode or password set for canceling Screen lock(write it down if necessary). If you forget it, visit the nearest SoftBank Shop for recovery procedure."
As I live in Germany and there are only softbank stores in Japan. So this is not possible for me.
Is there any other way to hard reset the device?

Hey guys, got a nexus 6p today and first time powering up and charge was OK... Then connected to pc to unlock and root, but forgot to toggle the device unlock under developer settings. So bootloader unlocking failed. I rebooted to system to toggle the settings but the screen won't light up now, but the phone will boot up all the way.
The screen will not light up when I charge it, boot into bootloader, no Google splash screen, or Google bootani. So nothing I do will light up the screen... The phone boots up and connects because I hear notification alerts for email and texts..
II tried factory reset, but fastboot format failed because I need to unlock bootloader first, but can't. I can't get into recovery to wipe because I can't see anything to navigate to recovery. So I either have a dead screen, or something else... I'm open to suggestions before returning...

Sounds to me like a hardware failure, almost definitely completely unrelated to what you were doing at the time. You'll have to have it replaced.
Yea, I was hoping it was something else... I just returned it... Now I have to wait for them to send another one.

So I cant boot my phone and am COMPLETELY stuck and freaking out so hard.
I did a clean install of the validus rom and bean gapps. During set up, I made a pattern lock and made it required for boot up.
First time after restarting, i go into twrp and see the pattern prompt. I enter the correct pattern, and it says its wrong. I am able to get into twrp by entering anything other than the right pattern. I CANNOT boot into and rom even after flashing a new EDL image. I need my phone for work in a few hours my boss would kill me if he didnt live on the other side of the country I am extremely desperate for help.
Whenever i try to look up how to bypass the pattern, it only shows ways for patterns that are not required during boot up.
How do I get rid of secure startup on A2017U B25 unlocked bootloader?
UPDATE: After flashing EDL I was able to remove Patter Secure Startup using the STOCK recovery, lol wish I tried that hours ago
