I am observing a similar problem. This week I decided to move up from my marshmallow-powered Verizon Galaxy Nexus (i515) to a brand new Verzion Galaxy S7 (G930V) that came with PH1 firmware. Shortly after rooting the stock ROM I noticed that the phone labeled my external sdcard (PNY Elite 200GB UHS-I) as "corrupted" in the settings. I wrote this off to my experimentation with adoptable storage. Reformatting portable storage in settings did not fix the issue; returning to stock did. I then started playing with the couple versions of stang5litre's ROM in the development thread. The same thing kept on happening: at some point the portable storage in settings became labeled "corrupted." Again, I didn't think much of it because I was jumping back and forth between stang5litre's versions and stock to compare features and figured I was doing the corrupting.
As it turns out, the sdcard really isn't corrupted.
Scanning the sdcard on my Windows PC with CHKSK reveals no errors.
Scanning the unmounted sdcard in Android via adb (fsck.exfat /dev/block/mmcblk0) produced no errors.
I can mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 to /mnt/media_rw and access the sdcard data.
If the sdcard "corruption" is happening with rooting, I wonder if the solution is in a SuperSU setting.

Same exact thing here installed stang all was good I believe until I installed xposed I pulled the card for now last time I had not installed xposed & it happened real quick after root. First time I rooted installed xposed & it happened right away. Second time right after root no xposed. Third time had it rooted 3 days all good installed xposed couple reboots later did it again wtf lol. Im a boat heavy diesel mechanic working 16-18 hrs a day so with the time consumption of all this I get a little cross eyed at times lol thanks

I played around with various SuperSU options to no avail.
What is the mount point of the external sdcard supposed to be?

I think /whatever u named or labeled card not %100 though
I took things all the way back to stock and have been going in slow steps, letting things sit for a bit between steps to see the moment when the portable sdcard gets "corrupted". I also made sure to diligently follow instructions.
Stock Verizon S7 (G930V, PE1) - SD card good
Rooted following psouza4's pinned guide - SD card good
FlashFire'd S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_V15.zip - SD card good
FlashFire'd xposed-v85.1-sdk23-arm64-custom - SD Card good
ADB installed Xposedinstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk - SD Card good
SDcard is apparently /dev/block/vold/public:179,1 which mounts to /mnt/media_rw/5075-2B3F as exfat. /mnt/media_rw/5075-2B3F is mounted to /storage /5075-2B3F as sdcardfs.
I'm guessing the "5075-2B3F" is my card label.
Going to let things sit for a few days before I try out stang5litre's V2 ROM again.

Then I tried power vol up & down keys & home up comes maint boot where one option is to turn on usb debug. Restart to download odin recognises its all good from there

I'm sitting on four days rooted no problems. Used G 930U used fix & not fix & debloat as I used originaly, debloated myself using SD maid pro which is pretty handy no xposed yet gotta get a little more rest before that case it goes bad lo do want xposed mainly for extra stuff for greenify. I Just want to say thanks to everyone here for all the information gathered here. You usually won't here much from me here as I usually try to work through my problems just reading, don't like to bother people. Thanks so much again
I have the same issue, tried 6 different cards which all work on other cells and my pc. I am back to factory now and cards still do not work on my s7

As of now I have everything working including xposed w/ greenify. its been almost a week all is stable. Dont know the exact cause maybe overzealous de bloat. Don't use package disable as this is for non root anyway, I think I used it on first 2 foul ups uninstalled it after root maybe it was too late. Also I just used the fix & not the debloat/fix although I have no Idea if that had any effect the first two times. I've been using SD maid pro to debloat & maintain once u get it figured out its real nice just be careful as default settings are safe but there are settings that will allow you to take yourself down I know from experience lol. Once this symptom happens I dont think there is an easy fix gotta re load . I also think leaning to the conservative side of debloating might help. Right now mine is as close to perfect as I could hope for after four failed attempts. Thanks to u all

I have updated ClockworkMod Recovery for the G Tablet to support the internal SD card a bit better.
There is now an advanced option to partition the internal SD card. This can come in handy when the internal partitions get hosed (which seems to happen on occasion with this device). To keep it close to stock you can select a 2048MB Data Partition and the remaining ~13GB will go to the internal SD card. You also have an option to format the internal SD card space as well as mount it as /emmc. You can still format the external SD card using the existing advanced option.
This recovery still uses the external SD card as its primary mount for actions (install ROM, backup, restore, etc.). However, the recovery is configured to “fall back” to the internal SD card for these actions if (and only if) there is no external SD card available to be mounted.
As always, credit to Koush for creating ClockworkMod Recovery in the first place.
----------------------
This is the current BETA release of the CyanogenMod 6.1 port for the G Tablet. There are still several issues, but it is far enough along that I use it as my daily system. Please review issues and post new ones as needed at the Issues page linked below. Feel free to leave feedback in the forum, but I may not be able to follow up on it. The best option is to catch me in #tegratab on Freenode IRC.
CyanogenMod 6.1 Beta4
CyanogenMod 6.1 Beta4 - MD5
ClockworkMod Recovery
My site: bekit.net post
gapps does work, but I probably should not release that here. Just make sure it is the MDPI variety and has an update-binary compatible with tegra.
*Note:
This version now matches the standards for SD card mounting on devices with both internal and external SD card space. This means that the external SD card slot now mounts to /mnt/sdcard (symlink /sdcard) and the internal space mounts to /mnt/emmc (symlink /emmc). The device properly recognizes the internal vs. external space and allows proper unmounting and handling of the external SD card. This also means that some apps (if they were coded poorly) will not recognize the internal SD space as available SD card space and will require you ti insert an external SD card. I will see if I can do something about the default apps (read: camera) that have this problem; other apps will need to be fixed by the developers.
Changelog:
CM6.1 Beta4:
Updated SD mappings for internal/external SD space to match standards (see note above)
Using latest available source from the CyanogenMod repo
Updated kernel to latest G Tablet version (still waiting on source so we can build our own)
Updated to the lasted drivers available for the G Tablet
Included updated libGLESv2 from nvidia (Angry Birds!)
Proper setup of CPU values - this allows the folio Flash APK to install properly
Matched fingerprint and device settings to latest G Tablet values
ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.3 (2010.12.11):
Added options for managing the internal SD card
Using latest available source from the CyanogenMod repo
ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.2 (2010.11.24):
Updated SD mappings to match standards (see note above)
Using latest available source from the CyanogenMod repo
Enjoy!

Nice may try it on one of the other g tabs I picked up today.
Thanks for all the work
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!! and I will enjoy this for desert.
Works like a charm! We all love you! Now wish this damn camera would work right >_<
Awesome, Thank you for putting this together!
Do you know if it addresses the slowdown problem that was present in cmb2? (After using it for a while, browsing etc would slow down till you did a reset)
As usual amazing work. Everything is rock steady. Only things I added were Spare Parts to maximize some apps and a certain keyboard replacement that starts with S.
titanium backup is not seeing my internal sd card, is this a known issue? also i'm unable to mount sd or external sd to computer, the window closes when i try to. the rom seems to run smoothly though.
Thank you Bekit!
First time posting here in ages. Is there a trick to getting the audio working? No audio here, except for a freak accident. Not sure how or why it started working out of the blue, rebooted now it's gone again.
happy turkey day!

Same here and Kobo wants /mnt/sdcard. I've uninstalled both and re-installed in case something changed with beta4 that they'd cached but it didn't change anything. I've found the Titanium Backup official support site (www.legendroid.com/forumdisplay.php?27-Titanium-Backup-Official-Support) but haven't done through it yet ... turkey'd almost ready so it may be a while. Folks out east (or north or anywhere that this isn't a holiday) may wanna check in there.
EDIT: Meant to thank you, bekit, for your work on this. Sorry, was distracted by the smell of nearly done turkey!
No SD card here as well. Do I need to install the newest recovery?
Will be kinda hard to download anything.
Thanks for this update! As with all releases, I will try this one out as well. It's great to have choices in firmware, and at this stage, these firmwares are really-REALLY nice.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!!!

Mind=BLOWN! Thanks!
I can't get the recovery installed. Can I get an update.zip?
I can't install anything from the market. I keep getting not enough room on card? I have internal card selected in CM settings.
I tried installing this, making sure to put on the new clockwork and clearing user data, and when I was all done and went to reboot I got "magic value mismatch" no matter what I did. I was able to get into nvrecovery but flashing the old clockwork wouldn't fix it. I finally gave up and flashed the stock image to get going again, blowing away my internal SD titanium backups. Not a huge loss, but if anyone else is thinking about trying this, copy anything important off the internal SD just in case.
*edit*
Whoops, scratch that, apparently the nvrecovery stock image install doesn't wipe the SD, everything was there when I was done and flashed Clockwork again.
This is running well and I am seeing very smooth scrolling in the browser. That has been my biggest complaint with the gtablet.

Try pluging in headphones and then take them out.
Had the same exact problem.
(Oops... missed the fact that it was already answered!)
Thank you SO much! This is finally a usable ROM for this hardware-rich unit.
I have two questions:
1. Can anyone compile/provide a tun.ko file for this kernel? I would like to use VPN Connections on this device.
2. Is anyone else experiencing odd slowdowns after the device wakes up? When I first boot the device works smoothly. After the device is off and then turned back on, I sometimes experience an unbelievably laggy performance...
Thanks in advace!
Sometime after I installed safestrap and a second rom, I lost the ability to write or delete from my external SD card. It may have something to do with SAFESTRAP, or possibly an app called SDFix: KitKat Writable MicrosSD which I installed and may have ran in preparation for any type of KitKat update. Anyone have any ideas of what I may have done?
edit for more info : The weird thing is, it lets me go through the motions to delete a movie file with say ES File Explorer, but when I reboot, the file is still there and I am able to watch the same exact file I thought I deleted. Also, if I set my camera to write external, it seems like it works, but when I reboot, the files aren't there anymore. Luckily the few pictures I tried taking like that were uploaded to my dropbox before I reboot..... Also, if I create a new folder and paste a file into there, the folder won't be there when I reboot. Also, it seems like my titanium backup files aren't updating, they all seem to be dated February 28 and they won't update even though it goes through the entire backup process!

The card is an 64GB Sandisk, and the computer won't recognize it, I believe because of the way it is formatted. When I get home, I will try to connect via USB 3.0 and see if I can dump everything to my PC and go from there....

uhh ohh, its a VDI virtual system, and it says this card needs to be formatted before windows can recognize it....
I am copying everything over to my PC over USB. I will try the card in a card reader to see what can be done. If I format it, and if it works after format, should I have confidence that the card won't crap out on me in the future¿???
I am finally able to format it using a slow format in Windows 7, lets see if it works...
Nope, still broken with all previous files in tact.
I'm having the exact same issue and I bet others are too. At first I thought it was something to do with an ESexplorer update since I never happened before it, but I've deleted ES and tried many other file managers/explorers and still have it happen. Someone has to know how to fix this.

I had the same issue with the same card. After a lot of research I found that my SD card had somehow become locked...I know...WHAT? My sd card is looked with no way to unlock it. I can view files on it but i cannot add files or delete from the card.
I emailed Sandisk asking them if they had a solution but I never heard back from them
I have tried every solution that I have found and none have worked...
I've gone through 6 San disk 64gb class 10 cards between my Note 2 and Note 3 with my last cropping out 2 weeks ago. San disk will replace your card and tell you to contact the phone manufacturer. I did that contacted Samsung...at 1st I got the run around but I was persistent and got a hold of a good tech support agent. Samsung phones have issues writing info to the 64gb class 10 cards. They are aware of the issue and are working on a fix as of 2-3months ago. He told me the will work fine. He said they don't recommend over 32gb and a class 4 card because of the stability issues of files being corrupted on class 10s particularly 64gb 1s. Funny thing is i called San Disk back and told them what i was told and asked for a 32gb lower class and he told me i could buy it buy they could only replace it with the same one i had. Good luck!

You know this is not the first time that I've heard of this. I actually had a 10s 32Gig SanDisk micro that I ended up losing because of this problem with my Galaxy S3. I got to work one day and set my phone down on the desk and it just seeming stopped working. I don't know what it is with the 10 series cards but it seems like they all have some kind of problem.
Thanks everyone for all the info. I guess I'll have to get another card and I'm going to be sure it's NOT another SanDisk.
A- I recently installed Link2SD on My rooted Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H) and everything seemed ok. The app asked me to reboot my phone, when I did my phone stuck on the SAMSUNG Logo screen and FACTORY RESET/Wipe data didn't work. I even tried emergency recovery with no luck (Error mounting efs). I fixed the efs issue and I re-installed the stock ROM and re-Rooted my device.
I didn't re-install Link2SD anymore because I'm afraid it may break my phone.
1- What is the maximum size of the ext2 partition?
2- Does it work on SM-G900H without issues?
B- Despite what they say about Kitkat and that you cannot move your apps to SD card, I have the option on my phone to move (movable apps) to SD card and that's good enough for me. I purchased a SANDISK Extreme plus 64 GB SD card (Which is formatted in exFAT by default). When I move apps to SD and reboot my phone, all the apps on SD disappear and my phone starts acting weird and apps crashes. Maybe it's because of exFAT but I'm sure the SD card is fine and not broken. That's why I wanted to try Link2SD and see it it solves the problem.
Have anyone faced theses issues? Anyone know a solution for these problems? I appreciate any help.
Bump... Me too!

Yes, I am having a very similar problem and I also have the 64GB SanDisk Extreme and SM-G900H and rooted.
Did you ever find a resolution?
My extSD seems to come and go. The last time I uninstalled the last 2 apps and it was good for 24 hours. Put I just pulled it off the charger and it started acting up again.
I cleaned the contacts, chkdsk'd it on my PC (everything reads fine) and rebooted a few times but no luck.
This post had some good recommendations but cleaning contacts, etc. didn't help me.
I was going to try an OTA update but it seems that I need to un-root first. That's my next step -- starting over.
Try FAT32

You SD card is formatted with exFAT? Try formatting it with FAT32. I didn't try it yet because I can't use my phone since my EFS partitions are gone and my IMEI code changed to 004999.... (Generic IMEI code).
Let me know if this solves your problem.

64GB will for sure need to be exFat -- FAT32 can't access all the space.
This is a good utility to reformat and fix it OR you can use the cmd level commands.
For me, I am able to use it intermittently now -- seems like it will work for hours, even days, then have a problem when I pull it off the charger. Of course, I woke up this morning and it wasn't working AGAIN.
I am on the phone now with Samsung tech support to see if there is a log somewhere that can give me more information about what is exactly failing. I did use this same card in 2 other Galaxy S5's (AT&T and T-Mobile versions) with no problem. Maybe I ruined the card when I had it in my wallet?

I was wrong. FAT32 CAN access all the space. I reformatted with FAT32 using the fat32format program and still have the same problems.
Furthermore, it happens with and without root -- I've reflashed a million times now.
At this point, I think that I just got a bad card reader in my unit because the card went off just by tilting the phone sideways last night (clean install, no root, no apps).
Good luck to the original poster.
Hello
I have SanDisk 64gb microsd. I have not done anything to the phone and now periodically the phone stops reading the 64gb card .It does not say unmounted just when I check gallery the photos are not there and I have to restart the phone.
I have a rooted 4.3 ROM..The only thing I can think of is ES file explorer potentially caused issues. I noticed things acting weird after I used it when I do heavily.
Please help. Any and all advice welcome. Thanks
Tried to re flash a nandroid still issues. I noticed in general my touchwiz is running so slow. I flashed sacs red theme about a month ago. Not sure if that had anything to do with it. Should not have.
It will reread it when I remount it or reboot. Not sure specifically what is causing it though.

Have you tried searching the forums for sdcard fix? Google it? There have been issues with 4.4 and sdcard reading issues. Also downloading foldermount from the playstore has helped others with issues. If all else fails reinstall rom.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Free mobile app
I searched on Google and there is not really a concise answer as to why this happens. It is a very ambigious issue, however; it seems to be a reoccuring issue with SanDisk cards and 4.4 KitKat ROMs.
What I did was completely flush out and re-installed both custom recovery and my ROM to 4.2.2
It is disappointing because I really like my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone and you'd think upgrades mean better quality product when it has not. 4.4 KitKat ROM is not that good. I don't like both CM and TW versions of KK. One feature I do not like with TW KitKat is the inability to hide icons. There are also issues with battery drain and free hotspot mod.
I don't know what is going on. When I plug my phone into the computer I can access the SD card. When I check the phone it is not reading the SD card. Don't know what the problem is.
Have you tried a different SD card? That would help you determine if it is specific to the card or potentially a phone issue.
What I will do is try and format the SD card with the phone, then put everything back on. So far, I have isolated it to ESFile explorer. Initially I did not update the apk and thought that would work. It did not.
Here's what has happened:
I use ESFile explorer to access the SD card. Then when I went into clockworkmod, I tried to delete a nandroid copy I made. It says 'failed to delete'.
Then the ROM and sdCard do not work correctly anymore, so I have to wipe and re-flash an old nandroid.
Makes me wonder if something is corrupted in the SD Card. Everything used to work fine, but now whenever I access the SD Card with ESFile explorer, even the old version of it, it causes issue.
There is a problem with some Sandisk SD cards. Evidently there was a bad batch. I had some of the same issues. My card was bad. I went to Sandisk's website and they replaced it for free. I was without my card for a week but I got a new one and everything seems to be working fine now.
Can you explain how you did this ? So an update on my situation. I can read the sd card but it will not format and nothing can be written to the card. I tried using recovery and touchwiz to format and it fails.
Can access what is on there but cannot write or format anymore. Any ideas ? At this point I swapped to a new SanDisk card I had lying around. Don't know what to do with the old card

I assume you are asking me how I got my card replaced. I did some research and found the issue mentioned here on XDA as well as on the internet. I went to Sandisk's website, http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/list/kw/microsd microsdhc/, and did some more research. I finally contacted their customer service and they told me the process for getting the replacement shipped. If I were you I would just contact their customer service on their website and let them run you through the process.
I have a strange problem with my note3 n9005 that is running omega v.16
Lately when I install an app from play store it works great until I reboot the device.. After I reboot the app I just installed is gone and I have to install it again..
My old apps that I have installed before this problem started occurring are just fine, and does not disappear after a reboot.
Does anyone know why this is happening, and if there is a way to fix it?
Thanks in advance
Are your apps installed on your external SD card?

Good question, I have a 64gb SanDisk card in the phone, but as far as I know I never choose to install anything on the external card.. Where and how do I check that?
Thanks in advance

I just checked, and you where right.. Some apps seems to automatically install on the external SD card, I moved it to device storage and it was still there after a reboot..
Many thanks my friend.
Now that leads me to my next question..
Sense many apps are installed to external SD and seems to work just fine even after a reboot, why doesn't any new apps stay there anymore?
I don't remember changing anything..
Is there a way to make it work again?
Thanks again
To be honest with you I'm not sure. I do know android has made some changes in KitKat in regards to the external SD card not being able to write/read for 3rd party apps. There was a fix for this somewhere on XDA. Now the question is, if this is related? Couldn't tell you. Only advice I can give is, leave your apps installed in your internal memory. Keep everything else for your external SD. Glad I could help!!

Again many thanks!

Yo. I may shed some light in this situation.
Get a new external SD card - 'tis what I did.
I had this 64GB SanDisk UHS-1 Class 10 - exactly what you have: http://www.sandisk.com/products/memory-cards/microsd/ultra-class10-for-android/
One day when I took out my MicroSD from my phone and put it back in. I thought everything was fine. During transfer it transferred things to my computer, but then it kept freezing up. My ROM file (250mb) was transferred somehow into my MicroSD along with the Google Apps zip. When I turned off my phone, preparing the ROM flash, I only saw my ROM file and not my Google Apps file. I thought "that was strange" and I did it again, by deleting both files just in case of MD5 mismatch. This time both files confirmed inside the MicroSD, I rebooted. No Gapps showed but my ROM showed, so I tried to install it (note I deleted this file already) and it said ERROR. I plugged it back into my computer, Google Apps was not there, but my other files like photos, music, app data still remained. One peculiar file popped up, was my ROM file. It was 20kb. I deleted it. Rebooted my phone, plugged it in. It appeared again.
Seems like my microSD entered a stage of read-only but it isn't actually read-only. Like it doesn't retain any information AT ALL. My MicroSD can't be touched, I tried deleting 13gb. Windows showed the data actually getting deleted with the bar (and it fluctuates in data I/O speeds!). Unplugged. Rebooted. Plugged back in. 13gb worth of files still there, in tact. Like a visual storage to fool people you can delete files but in fact you can't.
I tried it on my Note 1 (FAIL), Note 3 (FAIL). The only way I could read the extSD was to plug it in a microSD adapter and transfer files out of it. At least Sandisk thought of a failsafe read-only phase to back up files. Instead of breaking down completely.

You are absolutely right.. I checked the card buy putting it in my computer, and it was as you said in a read only state..
I was able to copy my things from the card, but I could not put anything on it.. I could not even delete anything or format it!
So I went to the store where I purchased it, and now I have a brand new Samsung UHS-I 64 GB.. Hopefully this one will last me longer.
Buy the way, it turned out that I purchased the card on July 17 last year, so had I been waiting for just 6 more days, I would not have been able to have it replaced.. So I owe you many thanks.
