Anyone managed to successfully pair the Axon 7 with Gear S (SAMSUNG) using the Gear application?
Phone does pair but without the gear software so no notifications etc...
if Anyone found a solution i would be happy to hear. :good:

I have a gear s2 and pairs with no issues
I am talking about the Gear S first generation...
I load the Gear SW on the Axon 7 and it fails in identifying the Gear S
However normal Bluetooth find's the Gear S with no issues and Pair with it,
This is not the desired outcome since i kind off lose all of the "Smart" features that the Gear can offer.
You need 3 apps installed in order for it to work.
Open gear app scroll down to "About Samsung Gear" app and after you click on it should show 3 apps with version numbers under them and check Button next to them.
Samsung gear, Gear S Plugin, Samsung Accessory Service. If there are no version numbers under them means they are not installed the first is your gear app so obviously installed other 2 are not installed by default so click the check button and that should eventually give you a prompt to install.
if not you need to look for them in the Store. Get the Accessory service first and it should download and install the plugin for you.
Hope that helps.
I have S2 As well but that is procedure that got everything working for me
My gear S2 is regularly loosing connectivity to my Axon 7 because I believe the gear S plugin is killed by the application manager. I have removed all battery saving settings for the Samsung Gear applications but this doesn't help.
To solve this, I have to manually restart Samsung gear application which I believe is restarting the gear S plugin...
My Axon A2017G has the latest firmware version 1.2.0B02 (7.1.1).
Any other tips I may have forgotten ?

I have the same issue with my Gear S3. In the power manager I have turned off everything for Samsung Gear. However the other two apps required (Gear S Plugin and Samsung Accessory Service) is not listed in the power manager settings. So these seems to get killed when the screen is off.
Is there any way of turning off battery saving for all apps? Or can you turn off the power manager completely?
Glad to know I'm not the only one. How others are doing ? Please keep me posted if you find a solution. I'm still hestitating to return it, that's a pity I can't use my smartwatch with this phone... (which is really pleasant except this issue)
I seem to have similar issues with my gear fit2. Still nobody with a solution?
I will do a full reset with the next update in a couple of week and keep you posted but still haven't found any solution so far
I noticed that when I lock with powerbutton the gear is disconnected but not when screensaver time elapses

Hi,
I may have found a possible solution to the problem! It's still not perfect but I managed to successfully have my Fit2 connected to the Axon 7 for over a day (rather than a few minutes).
In Developer Options (Advanced Settings > Developer Options – making sure it's enabled first) set the 'Background process limit' to 'At Most, 4 processes' rather than auto. It appears the auto setting doesn’t handle as many background processes as the maximum, which is why the Fit2 disconnects suddenly. Sadly, it may still disconnect after day or so but it’s a much better compromise compared what I had before.

I am trying to connect and use all the functions of my Samsung gear fit2 with Lg v 20 , I did install the gear manager, but does open for me. I cannot even find the app shortcut in app drawer. Only thing it says plug in installed with uninstall option next to it. Please help if anyone knows how the connectivity work. I only have one more day on my 15 day return window for gear fit 2. Thanks in advance.

OK I got mine to work. You'll need to reset the gear fit2. Then try connecting thru the Samsung app.

You have to install 3 apps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.gearfit2plugin
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.accessory
Reset the Gear fit 2 and then go through the pairing process.

1 . Make sure you have all three apps installed from above post.
2. After re connect your gear .
3. Reboot your phone .
4. Lastly check your notifications setting under Samsung gear 2 app . It's need to be on and double check your message app notification is on as well.

Anwsering phone calls on Gear Fit 2 with LG V20
I have installed all 3 apps and reset my Gear Fit 2 several times and I still can not answer any phone calls on my Gear Fit 2 when connected to my LG V20. I have checked all permissions. I was able to answer phone calls when I had my Note 7. Any help would be appreciated. Answering phone calls was the featere I used most.
Hey,
I have a weird issue where i don't get call notifications (other apps work fine) on my GWR.
i just get "sim1" notification and it doesn't even vibrate ! just shows.
i added a pic.
Already did a full wipe of the phone and watch, not working !
HELP
I'm not having call notification issues on both Zenwatch 3 and Gear s3 Frontier.
Seems some kind of compatibility issue between your smartwatch and the smartphone.
Since you did both hard reset the watch and the phone I can figure out other solution.
But hey getting vibration during notification is up to the watch if has that feature and not the phone.

Hi there, does anyone know how to use the Gear VR with the Note FE? I used the GVR with my previous S7, but ofc the NFE had GVR disabled. It'd be nice if I could actually use my Gear VR again.
thanks
The closest answer I can give is that; when I plugged mine into the latest Gear VR headset, it was working, and told me to download the apps. Then, when I unplugged my phone and clicked the blue start button on the Oculus screen, it said "network error."
Yes the same for me.. but just while I was connected to gear 360 at the same time
Anyone have the apk for the gear VR oculus app? It was in the note 7 so don't see why it wouldn't work.
Oculus has removed Note 7 from compatible devices in order to prevent face burning and it seems they have no interests in readd Note FE
Using galaxy wear app they find each other but beyond that it does not proceed.
Anyone have these working?

I was using the Galaxy Watch with my 6T and had no issues.
I am using an Adroid Wear watch now. I get random disconnects, but that is besides the point.
Have you tried to clear the app data, reboot and just try again? I also noted that it takes longer to pair my Galaxy watch. Like 3 or 4 minutes but the status bar did move ever so slowly.
Flawless on my Gear S3. No issues whatsoever, and I only lose about 20% watch battery a day.
I don't know if the Galaxy Active watch uses the Gear S Plugin but I had to manually download that to get my Gear S3 Frontier to work correctly.
I have just got rid of my s9 to get the 6t and now I cant seem to get the galaxy wearable app on my 6t to see my watch.. seeing as they are pretty much exact same chipsets.. is it some in the build.prop I can edit to get it to work?
Not sure about editing the build.prop but I have the Gear Fit 2 Pro and the Gear S3 Frontier both connected to my 6T. I found that sometimes the app is kind of finicky to get connected and I will have to turn Bluetooth off and on again, sometimes a couple of times to get connected the first time. Also keep the screen on your phone on to see if there is a popup to connect. Maybe even cycle the watch off and back on also along with the phone if all else fails. I was ready to give up at one point and it all the sudden connected. If none of that works I'm not sure what else to try but maybe someone else will have some ideas.

Along with the Galaxy Wearable app there is also a Gear S Plugin that needs to be installed. The first time I set up my Gear S3 Frontier the plugin was automatically installed but when I had to set my watch up a second time I had to manually install the plugin.

I have the gear S3 frontier and fit2 pro. I paired them with minimal issues. Did you reset your watch before trying to pair it?
I have an S3 Frontier, and every clean install ROM switch I have to reset the watch. I think they do it for security purposes? Unless someone knows something I don't, I've never found a way to reconnect the watch to a different device without resetting the watch. The backup of the watch puts everything right back once connected, but still kind of annoying (as it adds back in "removed" programs and such).
I have to use the MagiskHide Props Module to get all the correct things installed for my watch to work. However on a stock 6T it should just work. That module should only come into play on a rooted / unlocked device.
