Moto G4 XT1622 Bricked No Nandroid Backup - Moto G4 Questions & Answers

I recently flashed my XT1622 with TWRP. I then installed SuperSU perfectly fine but then I get stuck onto the Moto boot logo. I have installed the supposed Stock Rom for my device (XT1621-XT1622-XT1642_ATHENE_MPJ24.139-23.4_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.zip) but I got an error in TWRP that it is Could not find "'META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' in the zip file"
I would highly appreciate it if somebody could help me out her because im in a sticky situation. However, I can boot into my custom recovery (TWRP) perfectly fine

Phones boots into recovery every single time after flashing. [SM-A500F]

Hi guys, I faced some trouble while installing xposed with my galaxy A500F.
Here are the problem, my phone keep on boot into recovery (twrp) when i flashed any zip files except the root file recommended by this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-a52015-sm-a500f-t3360802 .
I have tried other TWRP and Cynogen Recovery which is still the same. This one from the link which at least let me boot into normal.
The only method for me to boot into normal is to flash to the stock firmware via odin which then I need to reroot, reinstall twrp and try to figure out is there any other method with.
Restoring backup are not working as well for twrp which still boot back to the recovery. Some flash files, which event better ( this refer to the deodex http://forum.xda-developers.com/sam...nt/deodex-deodexed-samsung-galaxy-a5-t3232134 ) which stuck in that samsung loding screen while booting.
Any help would be thankful

Hello:
- First, TWRP to use and it is the only one that does not give me trouble installing ROMs Marshmallow (as Resurrection Remix, AICP or CM13) is the v3.0.0.1 of mygalaxya (download here). Steps for install: here
- Second, if you are in ROM Stock 5.0.2 and just want TWRP to install Xposed, I recommend using the v2.8.7 (here) does not give problems at all, although no use to install ROMs Marshmallow.
- Third, it is not necessary deodex the ROM to install Xposed, since there is a modified version of Xposed that works perfectly both as Deodex and Odex ROMs, you can download it from here.
If after using TWRP 3.0.0.1 (or higher) and enters Recovery restart always, I recommend the v2.8.7 flash on it for a normal boot.
I hope the information is usefull. :good:

XT1607 model (unlocked G4 Play) already Unlocked Bootloader, TWRP successfully flashed ... BUT NO ROOT YET! I'm stuck in startup bootloop after attempting to install SuperSU.zip from TWRP... (already tried the SUfixer.zip - no help) Also I tried wiping everything via TWRP. Is there an original stock firmware/rom/kernel/etc that I can try re-flashing to fix the bootloop? I can get into fastboot and recovery but I haven't been able to resolve the softbrick. I'm the one who always tells everyone to backup their data before trying anything. And of course I don't take my own advice!

Motorola Moto X pure stuck on bootloop after failed root attempt, HELP!!

Hey everyone I just recently got a Moto X Pure with TWRP recovery already installed and the bootloader unlocked, unrooted. The phone was stuck on Marshmallow so I went to update and it would take me to TWRP recovery every time and when I reboot back into the system, I'm still stuck on Marshmallow. So I downloaded an app that would make me download OTA updates while still having TWRP recovery but it needed root access, which I didn't have. I tried all of the one-click root apps but non worked then I stumbled across an easy root method: ( oops it said I can't post links, but basically I downloaded a supersu zip and flashed it) which I followed very precisely and I'm pretty sure I did nothing wrong. But when I flashed the ZIP using TWRP and booted back into system it was stuck on the Motorola logo which I'm assuming is bootloop. I was going to download a stock recovery using fastboot but I discovered that it would relock the bootloader, which would render the device useless to me so I can't. I also tried wiping the Dalvrik Cache but it always failed. I'm new to all of this so please guys I'm desperate for help. Thanks in advance
You can flash with fastboot the newest stock(the same version or upper) without commands "...oem..." at start and the end.
Or
The newest downloadable without commands "..oem, bootloader, gpt, oem...". @Philo0o
BL will be still unlocked.
Do you have a tutorial on how to do that please?

More accurately you need to flash boot.img which is the kernel , in the case where root was being installed using systemless mode.
Otherwise, if you tried an old SuperSU version (where systemless didn't existed or the ones that failed to detect to install using systemless method on this phone) you'll need to reflash the whole system partition (using Firmware system chunks or custom ROM zip file).

HELP No recovery, usb not recognized

Its a shame.
7 years unlocking bootloaders, installing CWM or TWRP or Philz recovery, flashing rom after rom, not even one device bricked, and today, i messed up, i hope its not bad.
So the short version of what i did is that i flashed twrp.img trough and older version of twrp and now it wont boot into twrp, it says that it failed to verify the recovery image or something like that, and my laptop wont recognize the cellphone, the cellphone boots into the latest Havoc rom but without Gapps and without root because i did not install it beforehand, when in bootloader mode it just says that it could not recognize the device.
The long version is that i had Resurrection Remix, obviously an unlock bootloader, magisk etc... everything was fine until today that i tried to install Havoc, the installation went well but i found out that ambient display was not working, someone told me that the previous version of Havoc did not had that problem so i tried to flash it but it bootlooped for like 1hr, so i read that the version of TWRP provided by the OP was the way to get it to work, i downloaded the .img file and flashed it trough TWRP and tried to install Havoc again but i was stuck in a bootloop, so i flashed the latest Havoc build so i could download the latest version of twrp, i did not flash Gapps or Magisk because i was going to re flash the rom and then flash Gapps and magisk, so i downloaded TWRP and flashed trough TWRP and thats when the sh$& hit the fan, now it wont boot into TRWP and my laptop wont recognize the device, neither on android nor in bootloader mode.
So, thank you guys in advance for your help, tomorrow im going to try on a computer at my work and see if its my computer and if not, well, ill have to se what you geniuses come up with. thank you so much again.
Info:
Rom build number: opm6.171017.030.h1 or 20180811 android 8.1.0
TWRP: i started with 3.2.2-0 then i downgraded to 3.2.1-0 and the one that messed up everything was 3.2.3-0
By the way, I have a full twrp backup of when my phone was stock, (but no way to use it) T_T

HELP! S8 won't boot up!

I've messed everything up and now I'm devastated!
My S8 stucks at the very first screen (where it says: SAMSUNG GALAXY S8 - powered by android). It doesn't boot further this very specific screen. I have tried to update Magisk and Magisk Manager but only Magisk Manager seems to get updated successfully while the app suddenly says that the latest version of Magisk Manager required Magisk V19.XX hence I've tried to install it via TWRP. According to log screen, I've managed to install magisk via TWRP but after booting up, I opened Magisk Manager where it now says that Magisk isn't installed. I therefore boot into TWRP and tried to fix it since some apps of mine that required root access wasn't working anymore. So, I thought I must have lost root access. I once again boot into recovery, I uninstalled magisk and install an older version of magisk and magisk manager and also the no_verity patch. After that my Galaxy S8 won't boot up. It just stucks at the very first screen. My S8 (international version) is still on Nougat stock samsung firmware and I can enter TWRP but the phone remains freeze and stubbornly refused to boot up.
I'm quite devastated and I hope you guys can help me fix this issue!
Thank you!
Hi, well sorry if I am stating the obvious but I would format and install one of the many custom roms available...

Are there any solutions other than flashing a custom rom? Meanwhile, I have managed to flash Android 9 via ODIN and have TWRP installed but it won't boot up and stucks at the very first booting screens.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Have you tried just flashing stock rom only to see if it boots up. You may have to do a clean install.
Problem sounds like you haven't decrypted phone and flashed no verity zip file.
You won't need to flash a custom rom to fix this.
As for magisk have a look through this very helpful guide for installs and troubleshooting.

I've managed to solve this issue by myself. But still, thank you so much! It's the thought that counts ? And yes, I've figured out that I haven't decrypt my S8. But everything is absolutely fine now and I feel extremely relieved. It took me 1 day to fix this major issue and I've encountered lots of difficulties while trying to fix this like bootloops, system won't boot up and managed to stuck at the very first booting screen again and the phone boot past the first booting screen and stucks at the second booting screen, and also bootloader error and stuffs like where realization hit me that I can't restore my nandroid backup while still on Nougat because after restoring it won't boot up. I therefore managed to flash Android 9 and twrp. My S8 is now on Android Pie with custom recovery and rooted (via Magisk).
