Once people get a chance to see the incredible performance and battery and compare it with the competition in terms of value, this phone will take the lead in 2017 in regards to development. If OnePlus is smart and they comp all the great devs a device for Christmas it will sell them 1000 phones for every 1 they give away!

Hope OnePlus is watching this thread
This is my first OnePlus phone and I'm extremely impressed. I've owned a note 3-5, S6, nexus 6 & 6p, and a few others not even worth mentioning. This is the best phone in my opinion especially dollar for dollar vs. the competition.

Yeah, I'm fully with you there and really hope the thing Oneplus announced to be up their sleeve for the devs is in this line. In hindsight it may have been wiser for Oneplus to get the OP3 devs onto the OP3T-boat before making the official switch.
Tyranus kernel by mdalexca gave me 12 hours SOT without even trying to save battery in any way. 0% drain overnight without turning anything off but the screen.
In 44 minutes charging time I was back up to 80% and that was with the screen on and using it normally. Temperature has NEVER gotten over 92° Fahrenheit in the 4 days I have had it so far.

Bloody hell! I can barely get 6 hours screen on time
OP3T is phone of the year, if OP release the sources and the dev kicks off, it's even way ahead of the Pixel.

Very happy with it, first 3 days.
Only downfall so far is lack of roms
I'm unlocked, rooted, and have all the apps I ever need. Right now I am super happy, of course with custom roms that's a plus but as-is right now I'm pretty set.
This is an interesting phone based upon the specs and the cost. Will this be the next "Nexus" great value phone? The Pixel phones are just too damn expensive in my opinion. I have the Nexus 6p, coming from the Samsung line, and what I've liked about the Nexus, is the developer support for good quality full feature ROMS.
keep in mind, the 3T was quickly out of stock.
might happen that some devs dont have one yet.
but we are still at the beginning, it takes some time as usual.
Yep, I was looking to buy this phone for my wife and I, but it's out of stock. Hoping it'll be available sooner than 4 weeks from now. =/
they promised that it will be dev friendly and they are working to not split a dev scene, that what he said at the presentation of 3T and also at AMA. WHere is this dev friendly thing? Why roms are not compatible even if it is almost same phone?....
I rather wonder what happened to that patience thing.
I'm sad for the decision that oneplus made. I first wanted to order the Oneplus 3 but when the 3T came out I don't buy either of them. I can't choose between the better phone and the better developer supported. Oneplus should send 10 phones to developers so they can sell the phone more. Right Oneplus 3 is more than enough for everyday task but you know...
I'm like the majority of smartphone buyers, just want a great device without rooting or hacking it.
I do consider it icing on the cake to be able to though. I want the freedom to what I want with the device I purchase. Not locked down and forced to accept whatever the manufacturer AND carrier dictate.
But as is, I'm happy stock, unrooted. So far I never rooted my Nexus 6P so I'm not sure if I'll ever care enough to root/flash on my 3T.

Good to see OnePlus starting strong with the OnePlus 3T development. @flar2 and @franciscofranco and hopefully many more devs are getting devices soon.

Moto Support Rant of the Day
Sent in my 64gb Motorola purchased Nexus 6 due to the half screen freezing issue. I happily got my replacement at 9am this morning. I turn the bad boy on and to my amazement they sent me a 32gb. On the phone with the right now. I'm sure they'll make it right, just a bit of an annoyance in the mean time! Haha. First world problems. /R

The first time i did the "return my phone then get a replacement" deal, but that took close to 2 weeks. I'm doing the send at the same time and put a hold on my card. This is getting ridiculous. I will have some fun with the survey I was told i would be receiving!
Update: No deposit required. They are sending the 64gb out on the morning. Ill return the 32gb when i get that. Guess they're trying to make it right.

hiya mate moved your post here, no need to start another.
btw rant is one of the topics:good:
Well, I guess I'll start it off with a little speculation. First, I don't generally like to speculate but here goes.
What do you think 5.1.1 might bring to our shamu when it finally drops? I think, and hope it will finally put an end to all the variants we currently have in 5.1, i.e. D, E, H, M and I. It would certainly curtail a lot of questions users are posting here. But who knows, Google could start the whole saga over again. Does anyone think that things are changing with the Nexus line catering to the different carriers now as opposed to the way things were in the past?
Also, this update may address the memory leak plaguing some devices. Have any of you seen or experienced this leak? I have not. Are there any other bugs you experience that you hope are addressed?

I absolutely LOVE this phone and its huge screen, but the battery is a complete disappointment. It can't give me a complete day of use... I could use my old OnePlus One for 2 days with 7 hours of screen on time, but my Nexus 6 can't arrive at night before being charged with just 3-4 hours of screen on time.
P.s.: now I'm on stock + Lean Kernel, but I've also tried different ROM + kernel combinations...

I'm 100% stock and I easily get 5 to 6 hours SOT every day. Plus, with turbo charging, if I get too low, 15 to 20 minutes on charge and I'm good for whatever time I need.
Everybody uses their phone differently though. Perhaps you should look into a wakelock detector and see what it is, specifically, that's raping your battery.

ROMs: stock, Chroma, Euphoria, OptiPop... and others, maybe.
Kernels: stock, Code_Blue, franco, Lean.
A great phone with a disappointing battery life... shame on you Google/Motorola! :crying:
I am enjoying the phone, too. My initial hesitations were the size, and the display not being as bright as others (especially since I use it in my car a lot for GPS navigation). Neither has been much of an issue. The size and one handed use issue is so overblown compared to the Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus.......
One little issue --- the phone has completely frozen up on me two or three times in the month or so that I have had it. Anyone else experience this? Is it the memory leak?
Listening to Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff". Reminds me of touching the back of the Nexus6 while charging!
I can't seem to desire any other phone. I love the display, I love the size. Speed is good. Battery is very good (running stock CM). Not to mention the price.
Also - I love the hardware buttons (I think software buttons - like in the nexus 6p for example - are a waste of screen real estate).
Anyone upgraded and was happy doing so?
I'm in the same boat as you, my phone is almost 2 years old now but i feel no need to upgrade. Unless you live in a area with faster than 150mbs lte, want a finger print scanner, or a crystal clear screen, i would just keep it until the op4.
Had the One for just over a year now and don't feel the need for an upgrade. When I do end up upgrading this phone, it will not be another OnePlus device. The 2 and X have shown little improvements as successors to the One. There will be better options when the time comes
The OPO really opened me up to the modding capabilities of android. As so many people had grabbed the phone and experimented, there was lots of support. CyanogenMod was a key factor in my decision to get it, and I agree with @kenboyles72 : The 2 and X haven't improved enough for me to want to upgrade.
Also, there's nothing wrong with the OPO, even two years old. It still outperforms most of my mates devices
will be a better unit. BUT not that too soon.
opo will be still outstanding unit at least few more years.
Used to handle HTC models prior to opo
really appreciated opo unit.
appropriate in many ways.
I'm going to wait for the OnePlus 3 to see what it has in store, and if the price is high or it doesn't impress me with it's design and such, I'm going with the Xiaomi Mi5. I mean 4GB of RAM, Snapdragon 820, Fingerprint Scanner, Marshmallow, Good Camera, Awesome design and 64GB of storage for ~700AUD, I'm sold.

Is it bootloader unlocked? Or do you plan on staying on stock for several months hoping for some AOSP support only to switch again? Most of the time it's better to wait and see how popular a device is before buying as the more popular a device is the more likely it is to get a good development scene

Boot loader is locked and honestly I don't care. I don't care what Android skin I use, everyone makes a big fuss about oh I can use this and ew Touchwiz and what not and honestly I don't care. I use Google Messenger for texting, Snapchat, Reddit and Facebook Messenger. I'd be lucky to make an hour of phone calls a week. I install Google Now Launcher on the device and an icon pack, the main interaction I have with MIUI is the status bar and recents apps menu. Like looking at this, you wouldn't even know it was MIUI underneath.

OP3 or whatever ~5" Nexus device(s) come out this year.
Went to a Nexus 5x already, but keep leaning back to the OPO that's still lying around.
After The opo will be useless at 2018 i will looking into new battery techs
i was thinking to Nexus 6p, but I've see now the 820's snapdragon devices.... So I think I will wait for sure the next Nexus, if it will be nice i will buy that... And obviously, have a look to opo4
I'm waiting on the note 6... after it gets a custom recovery.
One plus 3 ( if specifications equal or above opo ).
Maybe mi5 when price drops or Next Nexus, opo is still uncomparable as price/quality ratio
Using this thing until it is too slow to use day to day...did this with my HTC g2 and m7. When they start to lag behind too much and battery dies too often, it was upgrade time. I always make sure lots of memory is free for performance.
Sent from the one and only Oneplus One
thus is cool but i am worried if there is hope of android o for us with this one or any good custom roms or any new holy **** kernels as i donot see dev with opo2 then what with opo3 opo 4 will dim
S7 Edge on Tmobile's buy one get one free deal.
I was just browsing the subforum and happened to come across this. I personally own the X which is essentially a more compact One with an AMOLED screen and expandable storage.
I would say keep the One. It's a great phone and if you compare performance of the X to the one, I'd say that there isn't a reason for you to upgrade to anything at all. If you must, go for the X. It's really a side grade if anything as both devices level one another out on terms of HW, but in all honesty, keep what you have. You guys have the best ROMs, the best revision of the 801, and the best kernels after all. Enjoy what you have.
I've had inconsistent performance with the GPS on my OPO. I'm really tempted to get a 5X now that it's $200 (plus that first month of service, right?). Didn't know how important the GPS would be to me.
I just got the s7 edge. Had my droid turbo for almost 2 years. My 2 complaints was the battery, why on earth a beautiful 3900 mah battery didnt last longer? Also the lack of updates, there is no reason on why stagefright was not patched yet. Marshmellow? I dont believe it. At lease the s7 edge will get updates. By the way, if your not like me and cant wait. the best phone will be the lg v20. I just couldnt wait any longer but was a hell of a ride!
Good luck brother, glad to have you while it lasted. I feel your frustration with the battery. Definitely should of added better battery management but oh well I guess. Enjoy the new phone! I'm actually going to keep mine for literally as long as it lasts. Going to replace the battery soon and see if I can squeeze another year out of it or so. I really want the Moto z droid force though. But none of the arrangements except the extra battery.
Rather ironic that you complain about the battery going bad, and you purchased an S7! Certainly hoping it is a fixed one.

The S7, S7 Edge, and Note 7 are the small, medium, large of the "7" series. People lumped them together that way anyway, but this year Samsung skipped the Note 6, so their Note numbering could catch up to their S series. They are numbered the same and have the same design language to all be one group, even though they are released at two different times in the year.

We are a little over two months away from the O6 if OnePlus sticks with their usual release schedule.
They just ran out of stock and it'd be too much money and time to continue replenishing stock for another 8 weeks
Lucky you you did not buy this phone, wait for One plus 6 , the same as one plus 5t but with a notch .
Why lucky... The Oneplus 5t is fantastic. You can always play the waiting game forever.

This is definitely not something I would call 'luckily", a 5T with a notch is not what I call beautiful.
Yep, hate "the notch". Not a little, a lot. I'd keep my money in my pocket for that reason alone. There is one other reason though, I've soured on the flagship phone drill. I have a Note 8 sitting in a drawer a few feet away. I stopped using it when they had the issue with OEM unlock going away and got this (5T) phone. What I found when I purchased this phone was that in some ways it's better, mostly it's a push, in some ways it's worse. That gets some clarity when you consider the pricing, this phone was just slightly more than half the price of that one and I in no way feeling like the better phone is in a drawer unused. If you ask me the truth is some people haven't figured out the flagship wars are over. Phones are becoming very good and performance is becoming an expected bottom line. Just to be clear, I'm not the only one that thinks this, the OEM's themselves are trying to get people hooked on ecosystems because performance is becoming a non issue. People expect their phone to be fast and work without issue no matter the price point making it hard to sell hardware, you have to sell the software and ecosystem.
Summation... I have bought one, two, sometimes three flagships a year since before android came out. Yeah, I came from windows mobile where the action was in the old days. Android upped the ante and I jumped on day one. I've got money to burn being old and having my retirement in the bank. I could keep right on buying several phones a year but I'm seeing little point. I never wait for anything on the phone now and the only way I can prove this phone is faster than the last one is if I run benchmarks. I'm off the treadmill and I've been thinking of doing it for a couple phones now but the 5T versus Note 8 comparison is what made it happen. There isn't much point anymore in throwing money at phones, I can always buy 500 dollar bottles of wine if I feel like burning money to no particular end at and least doing that will net me a hangover. The 6T having a notch is all I need to know, I throw my money elsewhere whenever something comes out which actually looks like an upgrade.
I think the notch looks nice to be honest. Can't wait for the OnePlus 6
I'm thinking about buying 5T. Pixel 2 doesn't seem like a good value compared to 5T, and Pixel gen 1 is a year older than OP5T at around the same price.
One major downside about the 5T is no project treble. From my understanding this means it won't be upgraded to Android P (because then they'd be mandated to implement treble.) Given the release date, it's sort of like OP5T purposely shipped with Nougat so they can claim it received at least one major update.
But like I said, for the money it's probably the best value right now. I'm interested in hearing what you guys think, particularly in regards to development and overall performance/stability of custom roms.
Without project treble do you think there's enough interest in this device to keep the Devs hanging around a couple of years?
I've gone through 3 phones in 3 years and would ideally like to keep my next phone for awhile. Thanks
guys if the only difference is the notch and 845 is it really worth the upgrade?
i mean P20 has a 40 MP RGB camera which will release next month, i love my 5T, the smoothest experience ive ever had period.
the camera is a let down and from what ive seen its been a let down for a while - i have the mate 10 pro before my 5T and the M10P had amazing cameras, with an overwhelming amount of modes to choose from, almost DSLR like.
i think its too early to decide, but if the only difference is the notch, and SD845 and a somewhat improved camera then i think i may jump on the P20 next as i take quiet a few pictures throughout the day. but its too early without all the specs available (memory / ram / sensor type and size / etc)
oneplus has left an impression on me, one that no other phone has before - but i think their camera game needs a massive re-haul, huawei got lucky with their Leica partnership.
Heyyy everyone. I was just going to buy Oneplus 5t but now I am a bit skeptical to buy it looking at comments regarding its camera performance. I have owned a oneplus 3 and never heard such bad things about it's camera, but oneplus 5t is not the same. Anyway does anyone of you have an idea about honor view 10 ? Have kept it as an option. I can't wait for oneplus 6 to launch as I need a phone on urgent basis
Yup, the 6 will have a notch...

...and apparently a chin on the bottom bezel. I'm glad I have a 5T.
The OnePlus 6 will have a notch, and here’s why | The Verge
I ordered mine this morning around 5am PT. It showed shipped around 11:50am. Estimated delivery date is 5/9-5/10. I checked the tracking and it hasn't updated yet. I can't wait to try out this budget phone.
Did you order one on the Google Store?

i had posted the steps in the 3a/xl telegram group earlier today
This is my 3rd Google phone and I was shocked by how Google managed the phone launch this time around. I got the phone just 2 days after ordering it on launch day.
As for the Pixel 3a, I'm loving it so far for its size, weight, easy one-hand use, battery life, lean software, and great camera.
I still like my Samsung S10+ better though.

Aha! Someone with both S10+ and Pixel 3a! Do you intend to keep both?
I am still on original Moto X (How do you know your phone is old? When Chrome browser says it will no longer be updated for this OS version. Happened a couple months ago.) I was really looking forward to get S10e but decided to wait to see if there are any problems. I am really glad I did! Problems with LTE connectivity (as in lack of) mostly on Sprint (70 pages long thread on Samsung forum and similar on Sprint), overheating, Bluetooth issues, proximity sensor not working right and keeps phone up in the pocket. Have you experienced any of those on your S10+?
I looked at Pixel 3 and it was not much better (call quality issues, BT issues, flickering display). Decided to wait for Pixel 3a.
I am just really frustrated that I have pay a lot of money and deal with issues. My 5 year old phone doesn't have any except, well, being old.
EE Uk locked down my pixel 3a lol, tossers.
Battery life is pretty good

Sure
Bunch of discord, checking xda, emails, some music using a bt headset. Brightness kind of all over the place depending on the areas lighting, played a few games, some YouTube, some Reddit, some imgur, browsing the play store, browsing fdroid, telegram. I've attached what I consider to be the final s.o.t for the phone as I'm going to plug it in now. I did notice the battery stats are missing a bunch of apps that ran, so not sure what's up with that.
It's Nice
I have a Samsung S9 as my daily phone. Google delivered the Pixel 3a is two business days, which was quick.
I bought the Google fabric case for the phone. But even without the case the 3a is the first phone I've held in a couple of years which felt "secure". Put another way, every time I handle my Samsung S9 without it's case I am scared I'll drop it, because of the extraordinarily slippery glass. The Pixel 3a feels like I won't drop it. I'm not even sure careful people need a case.
One last thing: Some of the reviews say the phone feels cheap because it's plastic and not aluminum and glass, With a case on the 3a phone no one can tell what the case is made of, or if the rear of the phone is fancy glass. I much prefer a robust phone. Because, you know, when it's all said and done, if you shatter your S9 screen, what you have is $1000 of junk.
So I'm liking this Pixel so far... . And bonus points: It has a headphone jack again! YES!!
