[Q] OTA updates on rooted device ??

Hi, please help me.
I was wondering, whether do we get OTA updates after rooting the phone ?
If a rooted device does not get OTA updates, does unrooting it help to get them back?

I *think* you can only manually update to a developer version once you have rooted. Could be wrong though.

Download and install Developer ROM for your device model from the official MIUI website.
Developer ROM is pre-rooted and gets OTA updates almost weekly.

yes developer rom to be installed ......
if u like root permissions and want to have ota updates as well

Which apks do I need to freeze to disable the OTA update from downloading and notifying me on KitKat?
Just downgraded from LP to KK to see what it was all about, and immediately got the OTA update notification, obviously I don't want to upgrade

Hi guys.Id like to ask you a little info.I rooted my Samsung S7 Edge with stock fw Nougat.I cant get updates via OTA.Is there a way to fix it?THX in advance.

once you root your device, a file in the operating system is changed so that you can not get OTA updates.
Currently there is no way to fix this.
you can try smart switch or go to sams mobile to see if there are any new updates.
currently the last update has February 1, 2017 security patch.

How can i install Security Patches ?

Hi guys,
I use N910C (treltexx) and i was installed Ditto Note 7 to my phone. I think this rom's developmenting is ended. So i want installing monthly security patches to my phone. How can i install that patches ?

Flash the stock firmware you will get OTA updates.
You cannot just flash security patch updates from twrp or any recovery its impossible.
You must full unroot with stock official firmware.

Updated to Feb security update. How to root again?

Hey guys.
I rooted my phone through the instructions on the youtube video "Root Xiaomi Mi A1 without disabling OTA! WITH WORKING PROOF!" (can't post link)
It used Platform tools and magisk and it lets you install new OTA updates through uninstalling magisk, getting the appropriate patch for this update and rooting again.
Now I updated again, and unfortunately forgot to check if there is already a new patch for this update.
Couldn't find it anywhere.
Any help??
