Hello everyone, I would like to ask a simple question: the IMEI code of my P8 is corrupted and I need to restore it, where do I find the IMEI code to be restored. I made a Nandroid backup but inside there is no such directory "EFS" as in Samsung ..
Where is ??
many thanks
Giampiero
What happens if you restore the nandroid backup? Does the IMEI return?
If not, try the tip mentioned here: [Q]Repair IMEI - for Noobs

Use at own risk !
This backup contains : aboot, boot, cust, firmware, product, recovery, system, vendor, version (if needed other files can be provided but with those ones you should be able to restore your system backup)

Did your headset worked before ?
Do you have a LX1 ?
Perhaps the headset restore is in another sub-partition. Should look into that.
EDIT : tested with headset and works flawless

Yes I used your backup after trying this one https://mega.nz/#!Bd5W3ALI!cJ_3F5pISoyGChrw-p1hrD87H-_0z62VExSL9D3zb8c
Yours works the best for my model, and yes I restored with TWRP.

Alright, noted !
Btw, the other backup is for the LX3 and as someone would do a restore with it, just check all but not the .img (like system.img, vendor.img...) ones. These are not necessary to check as the other ones contain all necessary data. Just saying
My backup, the TRT-LX1 just contains the ones you'll need. You can check all by default, or less if you want a selected part to restore.
I have brick my huawei y7
Hello, good afternoon, I have downloaded your backup of the LX3 which is my phone model of the Y7 but I only have the TWRP where I can access. I have tried copying the extractable file from the backup as well as extracting the files and putting them in the root folder, but the files only come out in the file manager mode and when I want to restore, I do not get any file to restore. I personally think I'm doing it wrong because I'm not a genius in this restore backups because I've never done it but now that I have the opportunity to recover my phone I would like to know how to use it and leave it to my Huawei Y7.

Take a test backup with TWRP. That will give you the right folder name to place the lx3 backup into.
When restoring, you can check all. But don't check the img's. It's not needed. Don't know if you should check the efs. Better don't. Just try out
do you have modem.img backup or efs backup please

4-6 months back there was thread why we should not restore efs of someone & proper tutorial for people who messed up their mac address with some kernel.
Now this tutorial on downgrading pie to oreo. I have no idea. Someone's efs would mess your IMEI, wifi mac, Bluetooth mac, thats what i think. But there are tutorial how to edit imei using some Qualcomm tool.
Ask @CosmicDan. He's the expert.
Just flash Oreo on fastboot, with full wipe. Why doesn't that work?
I was having an issue since using custom rom with december fw btw.
and I was mistaken flashing november fw back to solve some calling issue, so I ended up with no signal which should be came from I didn't restore dev's efs backup.
So I start from flashing full clean stock november and ended with bootloop on it, which is something I still curious what cause it.
At that times, I'm on locked bootloader and can't even enter edl to reflash the rom and can't unlock bootloader since the rom still not booting to enable oem unlocking option.
I don't remember what I have done to it, but at times my phone can boot with no signal, 0 imei on sim1 and null on sim2.
So I start to rewrite the imei then everything is back to normal.
Downgraded using the method of restoring boot and efs... Nothing changed for me, imei is the same as in the box of my mi a1. ? Maybe people did something before doing the downgrade that messed up something.

@CosmicDan no flashing just oreo doesn't help, phone gets stuck in bootloop, so people has posted tutorial about flashing their efs and boot etc through twrp to get out of bootloop.
Eg: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/tutorial-downgrade-9-0-to-8-1-edl-imei-t3879624

but my question why use someone's else efs while downgrading, as efs contains imei and modem backup ..

Well you can try it I guess, just backup the EFS partition and other stuff with my backup tool and you can always go back if worse comes to worst.

Xiaomi put out a message on their forum that after the Pie update, the phone should not be rolled back. Its for all Android one models. When users flash an older roms, bootloops occur.

But what he is saying is that he did downgrade EFS, but IMEI didn't change. This suggests that EFS isn't the original source of IMEI after all. Or maybe the bootloader can re-write IMEI and stuff on boot, who knows... Surely others have actually confirmed that EFS cross-flash = IMEI change, right? Not just assumed?
...point is, you can backup your EFS via EDL mode so there should be no risk. If you made a full EDL backup of your own device when you were still on Oreo then you would be golden, as EDL has full access to all partitions.

Ideally you should have TWRP and Root. Frankly, you don't really need this tool, when TWRP will backup and restore EFS without any issue.
Worst case there is also the option of using QPST, there are also many tools available on Google play for backing up you partitions as long as you have root.
For example: Partitions Backup & Restore
Need qcn of efs backup
please you can post your EFS backup or QCN file from Mi A3, i`m without signal, but IMEI ok. i search on web but i cant find file.
i allready restore full stock ROM with fastboot method, but not fix the problem. After search on web about it, i finded on XdA and mi forum a case of Redmi Note 4 identical and the only method work is the restore with QCN file. please you can post the QCN file from Mi A3?

I loos my imei. How i can restore? I have unlocked bootloader..
Efs backup, which you probably don't have. If so try to flash stock ROM with Xiaomi flash
AFAIK flashing the stock ROM won't restore your efs/IMEI...
You have to restore it using QPST and the QCN file (or backup) for the phone model :
https://www.getdroidtips.com/how-to-repair-and-fix-imei-number-on-xiaomi-mi-9t-pro/
However if you don't have a backup then you need to find a QCN file for the 9T/K20 (the one in the tutorial is for 9T Pro), so either have someone with the same phone give it to you or Google it.
I can't find the QCN file for mi 9t only for mi 9t pro...
