you cannot, downside of owning a snapdragon 810
unless you downclock all cores :fingers-crossed:

Install Zack's kernel. Set CPU to darkness, under-clock big cores to 1.7, gpu 510 or 450. Sorry meant to quote OP.

Stock 305. Custom kernel. I never attempted the foil fix, might end up with reception problems etc.

Wow I'm surprised your play didn't explode lol
OT: are you still going to make that cm7 ROM you mentioned a while back because I'm sure lots of people are interested
Edit: can you tell what kernel/ROM you used and how you did it. Thanks

Water cooled would be soo awesome !
there is a theory by turgot, that increasing a faktor wont increase the outcome at a specific point anymore. therefore i would be really interested how your play handles games at that oc. not only a benchmark, something like a video where its possible to see occouring errors, if there are any
this is great work you did, and it may allows some modification to the play.yes im thinking about cooling..even if it wont be that portable anymore. thanks for your help
2.3GHz
I'm currently going where no developer would go before my customized kernel has 26 CPU frequinces all up and a max of 2.3GHz
But without the GPU overclock and a 8mb GPU memory vs Lupus and dooms 4mb
i cant go even more than 1.6ghz
Needed an extra cooler solution and an powerful battery, like Mugen 3600mAh, to maintain this level of OC for diary use. Would be amazing!

Wait, what? Lupus Kernel offers increased amount of VRAM?
IMHO this is perfectly fine if you don't care so much about the device, otherwise you would be crazy. OC'ng so high will eventually cause in-reversable damage. I know what your doing so no need for me to ask questions But even if its stable for you it wont be for others all depends on the chip and as we know each is different. Also even if people don't use 2.x ghz frequencies tend to jump to the highest for a mili second if even on boot, causing problems with the device actually booting.
Well just my 2 cents on OC'ing...

What about 2 cents on this VRAM apparently being doubled?
At the end of the day its not GMEM which is essentially like a processors cache. Our chip has 256kb of it. But the allocated VMEM, would upping it to 8MB provide any sort of performance increase?

Can you post some benchmarks for the CPU? And also tell us more about the VRAM... Did it make any difference?
I believe that the Xplay has good chances of reach 2.0GHZ, running fine, provided has an good thermal solution. In my test, the games run fine for some minutes, before start overheat. Needed of somebody to build an custom cooler, then, make some tests. In my opinion, the safe clock, for sure, is not only 1.6GHZ. Only for default cooler.

I CBF screen shooting but CPU at 2.1 is around 20% faster then 1.6 and the GPU is around 25% faster with a 2600 3d score in antutu without adrenobooster
I know it's kind of not allowed to redistribute this but can u upload the kernel and send it ti me (PM) cus I will take some screens ans my play can handle 2GHz fine but bootloops when gaming after about 30-50 minutwa (depends on intensity of game!)

[Q] is it safe to disable thermal throttling on G2?

hey guys
i am looking for some advice. Some of the custom kernels out there have thermal throttling disabled .
Is this safe to do ?
I mean , if i usually play for 2 hours continuous , will there be any problems ?
Or for example HD video recording ... the phone tends to get hot on stock ... but with thermal throttling i guess it will get even hotter.
So what do you say , is it ok to disable in case i sometimes play some games for 1-2 hours continuous ?
thanks

I personally wouldn't do it. You see, it is not just a matter of overheating the Snapdragon 800, but also the LCD display can get to hot. And if you destroy the display, it will cost at least half as much as the phone itself. It is probably not worth the 5 or so extra FPS. If you are serious about android gaming, take a look at Xiaomi MiPad, with the Tegra K1 it is probably the best android gaming device BY FAR.

actually i am not serious about android gaming
it's just that sometimes to pass the times i play some games . For example games like kingdom rush . And sometimes i get lost in the phone and i find myself playing 2 hours straight
the reason i am asking is because i want to use a custom rom . And almost all of them use kernels that have this option disabled
if you know a good kernel that will not crash and will not cause any problems but has thermal enabled ... pls share
I would recommend LG stock kernel, furnace kernel 2.5.1 or CloudyKernel (with CloudG3 2.0 rom for example)

its not GPU bug ,,, if you do benchmark when you phone is HOT you will get taht 30k score. bcoze to prevent damage of gpu phone automaticlly shuts down "lets say" some cores of gpu ,,,,
You're wrong. It is a gpu bug and it's not temp. related.I have the same problem and ran antutu twice - first time gpu score was low and second time was ok.How do you think when the phone was warmer on the first or second time?

Note 4 snapdragon Getting Hot

Hi guys,
I have purchased Note 4 recently and it seems to be heating in minimal tasks also like surfing the internet. i have flashed KITKAT, LOLLIPOP(default) and MARSHMALLOW but in all these firmwares the problem seemed to be consistent. Earlier i used snapdragon phone which was clocked at 2.3 GHZ and used to heat @ heavy games like No Limits, with recording on but this one is heating in angry birds itself. Though no lags are observed. I have not tried the Marshmallow version latest yet but some body told that latest update fixed heating issue. The root problem i see is its Processor clocked @ 2.7 GHZ, i mean this much we see in PC. I dont understand why they have gone so far. Now Samsung kernel must be clocked such way that on demand it bumps the frequency to max. This max i want to limit to 2 GHZ but without knocking down KNOX warranty. If some one has latest updated Marshmallow release and can confirm that it is indeed not heating please comment or tell me the solution to this problem, i really like this phone but hate when it heats. I am ok with slight lagging due to underclocking. i am willing to flash kernels with lower max frequency via ODIN. No custom recovery intended. Also i dont want to loose on warranty.
Thanks and Regards,
Really looking forward to solution

Yep, except GPU overclock by me and Ashish94, the true 620mhz and the TurboClock 465T increase ~35% the gaming performance, games like asphalt 8 will run at 8 or 9 fps higher with the Overclock

Look, I'm tired from explaining that CPU overcloks are fake, just freaking search about snapdragon 410, the processor is LOCKED, PLL overclock is not possible without external source file help, only Moto g3 osprey have this file, when somebody port's that file to our source, I will be wrong
Also if you don't even know how to overclock a device, how can you say that I'm wrong?

At that time I din't know anything about this phone, becouse I just had buyed it, then I started spending 8hrs in the computer to study kernels, redmi 2, and all related to source, android, etc. Then I started making overclocks, and after 2 weeks of testing I completed my results and overclock was fake.
It's like school or college, you need to study to understand
Which ROM is best to be used with late autumn kernel. When I install late autumn kernel on any ROM ,the camera stops working.

Sounds like a stage I'm currently going through, are there any recommended resources for learning?
The main direction is to reverse the kernel code for the purpose of changing system settings
