No. You would have to build it yourself. There is no major development not because it is hard to nake a rom but because the marvell chipset is a pain in the arse to work with. The sm t-235/330/530 use a snapdragon chipset which is why there is nice development for those tabs. Your best bet would be to get a new tab because samsung has not released sources. I suggest a nvidia shield k1 tablet or something else. Nvidia makes good tablets and I work for them too so I know. Helped develop the chipsrt for the new Nintendo coming 2017.

Thank you very much

I tried everywhere but did not find anything. Thank you for the sincerity. Although Samsung has not released anything for this particular device, how can we help you to create your own rom based on some AOSP using its own drivers?

We would need Samsung to release lollipop which is a reason it is so hard to develop for this device. Plus I do not have a computer.

Would need to learn to extract everything and build up. I heard someone built a cm13 kernel and other things for this device trying to get a cm something soon...

I join this request. Currently I own a SM-G355M. It seems that we have to wait until Samsung delivers the lollipop update.
Still No Lollipop !!!!!
Android 6.0 is gonna come out
but still no lollipop for our poor SM-G355H/M(Samsung Galaxy Core 2)
Feeling So Sad
I have some porting knowledge and im ready to sacrifice my device for it, is there a phone that is close to the g355h hardware-wise?

Quite good.. defenitely going to try porting the 5.1 from the Core Prime.. my first guess that we'll run into Camera issues since they have different cameras, we might need compatible G355H (or similar) camera lib for 5.1 if the older libs will run into compatibility issues.

Ok I will search and see if I find one
I didn't found any Android device with L ROM/Firmware with the exact same Camera specs as the GC2. One question: The Moto E (1st Gen) has the same Camera specs but he hasn't Front Camera... Is it possible to use the lib from this device and make front camera work? [emoji4]

As per samsungs database core 2 (SM-G355H) & Core prime (SM-G360H) have common camera.

so i think we're good, will be easy to port.
Update: Well... i've done some more researching and it seems like only the G360F is getting the Android 5 update and the device specifications differ..
G355H: http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/c7bd2c38
G360H: http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/9ea92fe9 (No difference from G355H)
G360F: http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/18f33232 (Differs from both G355H and G360H)

Pretty good catch there mate!
I've poked around in google and found the firmwares: http://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-G531H/
Will definitely mess around with it asap.
Update: Oh i just checked the specifications of that model and it seems that the G531H isn't the Grand Prime VE.. emm.. hopefully we'll see that model out..
Update 2: It's confusing.. i can't find some solid info anywhere..
Update 3: Okay.. found something useful and it seems that the SM-G531H is the correct model that contains the same SoC as the G355H.. so we're good.

Sorry but hardly. G531 has 8 GB of internal storage(system reserved aprox. 1.6 GB because system image for G531 is larger than 1.4 GB ) and our G355 4 GB (system reserved aprox. 1.1 GB) so I don't see that fit.

well, porting already working rom from one device to another is one thing. But what rom (device) would you use?? No one build cm-11.0 for any device similar to ours. I have been searching a lot...
Building from source is totally different thing. A lot of time time to find needed proprietary files, setting up device tree, patching if needed and than building with no errors. And finale is it rom bootable or not.
I build cm-11 rom for g355hn but all I got is cm boot logo and 50-60 lines of logcat where I could seen successful loading wifi modules, loading MALI libs and some display drivers and than boom. Logcat stop and I'm in boot loop where I can't see anything else what cause phone from booting.
So if anyone can help my sources are right here:

[Q] can someone teach me how to build a ROM

My friend owns an samsung galaxy tab 4 t-230 and would love to upgrade it into a more pure android. Since i kind of got into android ROMs and there are no AOSP or CM roms for the tab 4 t-230 this would be a great chance for me to build a AOSP or CM rom. I have ubuntu 14.10 and a decent enough pc with 16 gb of ram and an i7. If anyone could help me abit of how to build a AOSP or CM rom for the device i would be verry thankfull.

I wanted to say thank to you guys! I did quite some progress by now. If you own a t230 / nu then feel free to check out my custom kernel

Relevant post - some starting info, and check out the CM wiki he links to. Also, and this is a very basic step, but if you've never done this before it can be informative: download a rom zip file (preferably but not necessarily a stock-based kitkat rom for this device) and open it up in either 7zip or WinRar, check out the layout and structure, and familiarize yourself with the updater-script. (Actually you can do that with a firmware tar file too). Sorry I can't give you any more useful info, not a dev, definitely not a rom designer, just a guy who knows a fair amount of android stuff.
Also don't let the tone of that post discourage you; the poster was answering a guy who was basically asking about the feasibility of building a brand new rom for the sole purpose of being able to use one particular proprietary Samsung app. Yes it is difficult, but still doable, and you say you're motivated...
Yes i did forgot to say that any links for learning are appriciated
Well.. I would ask moonbutt74 for more info regarding commands and such, probably more info than I can give but.. keep in mind your going to have to download about 20+GB of source code and all that. Also a bunch more knowledge of more things I don't remember. But it is alot

Custom ROMs for A3?

Are there any custom ROMs for Samsung Galaxy A3.
Is there AT LEAST anyone trying to make one.

I THINK i might be able to make one by porting CM12.1 for example from other device similar to ours and i have been researching and found out that Motorola Moto E is almost very similar to A3.
So i might actually try porting it and i hope it's easy as it looks in the tutorial.

That ROM is still in beta status with bugs so it is not a good idea to port that to A3.
I think it's better to wait for the new cyanogenmod version(marshmallow) to release first.
Then someone to build it for our device.
Maybe I will try to build for A3 but right now I'm busy with college stuff.

Hey guys I have good news for A3 users (not custom ROM, unfortunately)
I'm currently porting AOSP theme to our systemui.apk settings.apk and etc (notification panel, transparent recent, status bar, etc) it should be ready by this weekend if the original dev permits me of distributing it.

Unfortunately, I think same was said for Lollipop. The device is already almost one year old. If we don't do it now, it will be completely forgotten. It won't be easy to port Marshmallow if we are not familiar to porting Lollipop. I think we better start with Lollipop even if it contains bugs.

The difficulty would still be the same be it lollipop or marshmallow. It would still be completely different even if the custom ROM in trying to build is lollipop because Samsung uses TouchWiz ROMs which is very different from AOSP (cyanogen, blisspop, noname, etc)
BTW the bugs aren't within the Cyanogen version itself but the build was faulty. So it's futile to port a faulty build. Plus you have to modify a tonne of stuff in order to port the CM12.1 ROM. Even porting the A500F CM12.1 ROM to other variants of A5 causes massive headaches.
Trust me I have experience.
I'm pretty sure one day someone will develop for us, if not then it'll be me, but I'm too busy with college now D: and I have a computer too crappy to build ROMs. So that sucks :/
Can I actually root the lollipop version of A3? I need the system files but can't do without root
Yes, you can.

Indeed, I'm battling with a concussion, very limiting my screen time. Also, to be honest, @RaymanFX is the lead developer for the 2015 Tab S2 models, I just managed to adapt his code for the T810 (not to difficult) and the T710/5 (bigger challenge, still needs a lot of work).
My prio at this point is to get the T710/5 functioning before putting time in, unless RaymanFX wants to start work on Oreo for the T815, then I can test the other devices. (alas, no real work for a while, just barely managing to get 4h of work in a day)

hi, not to open a new thread:
but official there is also Nougat 7.1 for the S2 2015 version.
Can i flash this and root it per superSu?
Is there any custom kernal avialble?
or better an "original" Rom just moded?
thanks for answers in advance
adddy2
The answer is quite easy.
CustomROMs would be easier to create if there'd be an official Oreo ROM from Samsung. The SM-T810 is still on Nougat (I got a "new" update a couple of days ago, which only "updated" the security patch level...).
Since Samsung released the S3 Tablet, there won't be any effort spend into developing an official Oreo Rom in this "older" Tablet, imo. The SM-T810 has an Exynos 5433 CPU (and not a Qualcomm), which means we're facing closed-source and therefore smooth and fully working CustomROMs won't be very likely.
The question is: Why do you want a custom ROM at all?
The stock Nougat ROM can be debloated (e. g. via Neked Maker), rooted, Xposed can be installed.
All is working fine, and you can customize it very much.
What feature are you looking for in a custom ROM which isn't possible with stock ROM??

There's no stock Oreo rom. For me, it's not that I want a custom rom, it's more that I want an Oreo rom.
Actually possessor of a T715 Tab S2. I saw someone managed to build an Oreo rom for T710, if the rom will come also for the sim variant it will be really great! We have to forget about samsung spending time for "old" devices....Instead thanks all the developers teying to get the best out of this tab and updating it.
P.s give me a working fingerprint and i'll give you mi life lol

I'll build daily for all 4 Oreo variants when the code is mature enough to boot :good:

Any updates on SM-T230 Android ports?

This poor device has been stuck on touchwiz 4.4.4 for a very long time, it would be great if somebody tried to port a good rom to it.
Please reply with updates, if there's any.

This is really sad. :crying:
I would like to bring mine back to new live too.
Please, dear developers, take care of the 7" Tab 4 too. :fingers-crossed:
Best regards
Balze

Presently sitting on an old build ROM
Pixelized-OS-v2.9-20180816-SM-T230NU-FIX
That has worked relatively well even on this device with limited storage, processor, and memory. Either way, I'd love to help my unit has been rooted for 3 or so years and please let all of us know if we can help.
Please also note, I use this device only as a backup, so starting over and trying something fresh can happen quickly.
Thanks for the help and support,

Android 10 should work with some optimization- porting the kernel to a relatively new version would likely be the hardest part.

can only try lol
I just found all device tree specific blobs and all that. Can start from there at least. Then once we get it booted and working then we can go for Android 8-10

How complicated is it to slim down the builds as much as possible?
I don't see needing all the extra TouchWiz crap that this device barely supports and had survived using Link2SD for storage. Something stable supporting at least basic apps is all I need, and most of those (Gmail, Chrome, etc) are now available from play store.
Thanks for trying and let me know if o can help! Sorli...

Hi, my advice is starting by taking sources from other variants (you can find them in GitHub S3NEO organization) and editing sources by starting from that base. For the kernel, it shouldn't be difficult to make a defconfig by always looking in matisse and millet ones. I advice you to start from Android 9 (lineage-16.0 branches) since they are the most stable. If you are really interested to work, you can write me in Telegram (same username as xda profile) and I can write you something more about what you should do.
Android 8, 9 or 10 will be nice, but right now I will be happy with Android 5. Are there any ROMs for degas higher than 4.4.4?
Are there any true Android 5 or Android 7 ROMs for this device?

For now most of the ROMs out there are based on touchwiz so they are 4.4 with themes. I hope devs can build proper Android 8+ ROM for our good old buddy

We can't because degas has different SoC and nobody of the devs have this device. So, we can't do anything.

Yeah that Marvell CPU and Vivante GPU is a real headache I guess. Why Samsung put them in it lol Maybe one day (when NewPipe stops fully working on my Tab 4) I'll grab a new Tab (probably S series this time).

I have given up on porting brand new Android versions (for now) and right now I have Android 5 running. Quite unstable at the moment.

I ask developers to make Android 5 + ROM on Degas, because there are many apps in China that can't run on Android 4.4. Sorry, my English

That problem is not only for China dude. That's why most of the people (incl. me) want newer Android to our loved Degas
Because Android development for this tablet seem to be DEAD I started to wonder if I could install Windows 10? I bumped to this thing claiming it can install WIndows to any android tablet but I'm yet to try it out...
