Hello There,
I open this thread since I worked all day long on my issue and compiling all tutos and solution from differents posts on this forum and others, I ended to managed my issue with no referenced solution until now.
First I had issue with my 3 years old Notes 3 SM-N9005 hlte Android 5.0 N9005XXUGBOJ1. No root. No custom ROM. But it was encrypted :
The WiFi disabled itself immediately after enabling it. I hard reset it and it solved the issue but it occured again 2 weeks later.
Then I decided to install a custom ROM Android 6 or 7 but instead of having a long first boot, after only 1 minute I get my phone started with "encryption unsuccessful" message. I tried other ROMs but I get same message again. I tried PIT (with Odin) but same message.
At the end I tried using TWRP-3.0.2-1 instead of CWN. It showed error messages on /data partition. Then I remember the previous encryption. I formated /data in TWRP and HURAY ! it worked \o/
Thank all experts for useful posts and warm thank to TWRP developers from TeamWin

How do you encrypt your phone? By system system or recovery setting? I would like to try with my twrp 2.8.7.0 with my note 3 since I gound many people looking for this solution on this encrypt problem.
Hi Yumiko,
I did encryption with stock Android 5.0 : System/Security/Encryption years ago.

Hi all,
After a looong night flashing and downloading again and again trying different methods, I'm out of ideas.
I have a uk n9005 (btu) that was happily running out of the box 4.3 stock until yesterday night. No root, no flash attempts before.
I started by flashing german 4.4 (dbt) without wiping before (big mistake, maybe) and without pit file and no repartition nor bootloader update checked. The error came out and I flashed again with the pit file. I let the phone reboot, but it didn't go further than the boot animation. I take out the battery and boot in the recovery. That is when I saw the can't mount \data error for the first time.
I tried to wipe, although it was impossible since the data was not mounted. However I could (and still can) wipe cache. I restarted the phone, and again the same situation, stuck in boot animation. From this moment I've tried many things:
- Flashing the bootloader separately and then the rom. no results (data not mounted and stuck in boot animation)
- Flashing custom recovery and after, official cm11 nightly and another cm11 based rom. no results (data not mounted and stuck in boot animation)
- Downgrading to 4.3. Not possible. Thank you Samsung!
- Firmware recovery with kies 3.0. no results since 4.4 has not been released for my region (maybe waiting for if to come out would be a solution)
- Flashing Polish and german (againg) 4.4 with and without pit file. no results (data not mounted and stuck in boot animation)
The only thing I can think of that I haven't tried yet is flashing a custom kernel, but I can't see any advantage in doing that. Next approach is taking it to the technical service to see if they can solve this situation. I'm afraid they're going to ask for almost as much money as a new note 3 costs...
P.D: I know I haven't taken part a lot in this forum, but I've been reading it for years, since I started playing with my SGS back in 2011. This is the first time I'm really lost after spending the night searching the forum (not only the note 3 section). This really pisses me off, with my previous phones I could always find a way to bring them back to life, but with SGS4 and SGN3 things are totally different thanks to samsung. (sorry for this looong post)
Thank you in advance

You might also be able to get it working by flashing the sweetrom like people with the HongKong note 3 had to do to go to KK rom...
Worth a shot if you try everything else and aren't getting anywhere but you will need to be rooted to flash a custom rom...
Hi all,
I have Note 3 N9005 LTE 32G, It is unlocked, I had X-note v15 custom rom installed on this phone, as i attempted to reinstall stock firmware, I was with an error called "System.img (ext4). However after the installation, it asks me that i need to restarted the phone, once i restarted, My phone was Stuck on "Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005" LOGO!! I have waited for hours and still would be stuck on the same logo! I have tried reinstalling the rom about 3 times and I still had the same issue.

Make sure you are using the correct version of X-Note. If its the kitkat version then you have to already be on kitkat. Also, you could try Temasek's CM11 port. That worked for me . Make sure you backup your EFS partition (basically backup ALL partitions in TWRP/CWM or use EFS Pro). Don't want you making the same mistake that I made.
I have fixed the problem by going into the cmw and did the following:
Delete system files
Delete Cache
Delete Partition
Format Sd card
Format all user data
After i did the following, X note did work. I think i did the same process i could be able to install the the stock ROM.
Thank you anyway.
same problem

Format partition
Hi
Go to recovery , hold power, home and volume up while booting to enter recovery , if you have have CWM recovery , select mount and storage. you need to format your SD card, format system, clear cache data ansd clear partition, basicallt format whatever you see that says formart. then try reinstalling x note.
NOTE : THIS WILL WIPE YOUR ENTIRE SD CARD DATA !!!!
Please give a thanks up if your problem is solved. Thank you

And, wats the best v to install.....
v15
Well I dont know the latest version but v15 should do. Visit XDA xnote page for the latest info regarding xnote firmware.
Thank you
. I solved the problem and installed the latest version 18
First of all thank you very much for your help. I solved the problem and installed the latest version 18. Beginning it stuck in my after installation as before ... but what I did was to install another kernel that is what solved my problem and I am currently using fun at x-note v 18. Thanks for the help ... If someone encountered a similar problem feel free to install kernel that suits his area.
Hi There, sorry long post
As many others I have problems with encryption in combination with custom roms. Searched several threads but are stuck now
What I did:
several months ago: Installed various CM Lollipop based rom's, could not get encryption to work.
several moths ago: Backed out installing CM11 (kitkat) and encryption worked fine but cm11 is kinda old now..
So tried the last few days going to Lollipop again:
Wiped phone from stock recovery. Installed a stock ROM for my N9005. Rooted and TWRP 2.8.7 again. Formatted /data so no residues from the previous encryption should be in the /data.
Thought/hoped a Touchwiz based rom would give me better results so I installed the Norma V15 based tom (Note5 port). Installed and works fine without encryption. When trying to encrypt the phone reboots and nothing happens (I still see encrypt phone in the menu's and my company e-mail package still complains my phone is not encrypted).
I'm a bit of a noob in the logcat area but with the liveboot app I saved the boot messages after selecting to encrypt my note 3:
12-27 19:18:46.797 W/Cryptfs ( 286): Bad magic for real block device /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata
<6>[ 6.581522] max77803_get_vbus_state: VBUS is invalid. CHGIN < CHGIN_UVLO
12-27 19:18:46.797 W/Cryptfs ( 286): Cannot get crypt footer and key
From other pages I found that there should be some room after the /data partition to store the encryption key. I hoped that by installing the stock Rom this would be corrected. Investigated further:
Found this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469031&page=2
Uninstalled supersu. After that I could encrypt my phone. It rebooted and the encryption took about three minutes. Looked fine so far!
After encryption the phone rebooted as expected.
Right after prompting to enter the password a pop-up appears "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped". Ticking OK and I get just the background screen and I can't enter my password again! The Android UI never starts, the message keeps coming back.
It seems to me that the start of the UI can't complete because the password is not entered and I can't enter the password! Catch 22!
Any suggestions to proceed?
Is this a encryption problem now or somekind of system UI problem or is this Norma rom related?
(already tried system reset and format /data from TWRP).
Can go back through the stock rom route but end up again with an unencrypted phone (work e-mail needs an encrypted phone).
Thanks for helping!
Hello XDA! I recently came into ownership of two Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 WiFi tablets that came factory reset with Android 5.0.2, they are the SM-T530NN variant for education as these came from a school - and I wanted to flash them with LineageOS. I had already rooted and flashed my Nexus 7 with LOS with no issues and really like it, so I figured I would do that too on these Tab 4's.
The problem I am running into is once I install LineageOS and Supersu from TWRP, the tablet reboots and can't get passed the following message:
KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit: Kernel
I've read that this is not an error, and has something to do with the rooting process or possibly the ROM that I used itself, but nonetheless, it just sits at that error and never fully boots, hence why I can't just ignore it. My OS appeared to install with no errors. Other posts that I have researched on this forum concerning that message don't fully provide me with a solution I can replicate. However, I still have access to download mode and TWRP recovery upon boot so all does not appear to be lost.
I started with thisisapoorusernamechoice's guide (which was awesome by the way) for rooting and have kinda gone from there, trying newer version's of TWRP but am still stuck at boot.
Here are the files/versions I have used:
Odin 3.11.1
twrp-3.0.0.9_matisse_20160314-0843.tar (and 3.0.3.0)
lineage-14.1-20170319-UNOFFICIAL-matissewifi
supersu 2.79
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
***UPDATE***
Never saw any replies to this post so I decided to just try a different ROM, went for Bliss 6 to see if it would boot. Sure enough I still get the same message as before but it does boot up and is usable! Some minor things are not working like the camera app crashes upon opening, and the lock screen date and time are all smashed together - but these are minor inconveniences as these tablets will only be used for Plex, not taking pictures. Plus I still have a TWRP backup of the stock ROM should I choose to go back to that.
Hello! Long time lurker on here but first time posting. I follow this guide to unlock bootloader and install twrp on the zc553kl. https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/how-to/zenfone-3-max-zc553kl-bootloader-unlock-t3691837
It kind of worked, and it did flash twrp. The only problem is that the twrp although launching, didnt seem to have permissions to access storage, probably due to a data encryption problem. all the storages had 0mb sizes and i couldn't do anything.
So naturally i googled my problem and tried a few methods.
Nothing seemed to work, and i ended up doing an advance wipe. That also failed and it said it didnt have access or permission to do it (something along those lines). Next day i decide to try again and now my internal storage seemed to show.
So i ended up formatting it, and while the files seem to be still there, i changed .ext4 to .ext2 and back again, and then it stopped recognizing the stock rom i still had installed. Please note that before all of this, although twrp didnt work properly, the phone still worked fine and booted into android. My problem is now the stock rom is gone, twrp says no OS installed, and i have tried my best to reinstall the stock rom, but that hasn't worked. Any ideas or help would be welcome thanks guys
