SM-G935FD Basic Questions - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi, so i am getting my SM-G935FD tomorrow and i am already planning on what to do. I have used the search button to find relevant answers but its leading to unrelated topics and i am hoping that by posting in the Q&A section i would be able to find answers(Maybe) to my questions.
1. Should i update to the most recent bootloader and firmware once i get my device if i plan to install custom roms, kernel, etc?
2. If i flash stuff like pda, modem and csc through odin, will i lose my warranty? Or is there a way to reset flash count?
3. Stock Flashable Debloater? Is there any?
4. Lastly is there a flashable zip to carrier unlock the device?
I would greatly appreciate all the help i can get, and will contribute soon since i am already a bit rusty.

Use the search button again. I found the answers to all your questions in less than a minute. You can too.

Beginner root questions...

Hi guys,
Please excuse my ignorance and thanks for taking the time helping noobs like myself.
So im looking at rooting my S5 to enable me to delete the bloatware and tidy it up a little while not flashing a custom rom but have a few questions. I'm sure they've all been answered but like most things online, the more questions i find answers to, the more seem to pop up.
So firstly I've got a G900F running lollipop. As im only looking to gain root access and not install a custom ROM do i need to downgrade to KK. If this is the case can i pick any date version of the sammobile site, or should i just choose the most recent.
Secondly to root the phone should i just follow the instructions on the link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...ethod-t2843044
They're not crystal clear to me so are there any all out noob guides out there?
Will doing either of these also wipe my phone and regardless should i back it up and if so using what?
Oh but that link i posted doesnt work so....

[Q] Rooting and TWRP

Hello there everyone! May you guys please help me to root and install TWRP on my device? Well basically I have a little knowledge when it comes to rooting and flashing (GT-n7000), but I really have no idea how to deal with S5, so I really need your help badly. First of all, I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S5, about device info:
S5 - SM-6900F - Lollipop 5.0 - G900FDXU1BOE1 - LRXT21T.G900FDXU1BOE1
I have a couple of questions, and I hope you guys would be able to help me.
1.) I'm not sure what bootloader version I have, I was told that I need the latest version. I'm not sure how to check.
2.) Is there a method to install TWRP (currently using stock recovery) and Root the device without using ODIN? I'm a bit skeptic about ODIN, I prefer flashing zips, though if there will be no choice, well I guess I have to deal with it. If there will be a method to do these both (rooting and TWRP installation) without ODIN, I'll be more than happy to read it thoroughly.
3.) I know this is a bit demanding, but can please someone tell me the step by step instructions on how to do this stuff in sequence? (bootloader update, rooting, customer recovery - installation of TWRP/Ktoonz).
4.) Links for the latest downloads (TWRP, SuperSU, bootloader and etc. - of course something that is compatible with my device)
Sorry if the post is too long, demanding and sounds like a total newbie (well technically, yes), but I really need your help guys. I know that some of my questions can be answered if I do backreading (which I always do), but I don't really have much time these days (I'm not lazy, it's just that I'm too busy). Thank you very much in advance for all of your help.
install phone info app from playstore to ceck your bootloader and info
just use the search option here or google.com

noobs want to root Note 4 n910cxxu1coi4 5.1.1 phones

My friend and I are noobs and want to root our Note 4 - n910cxxu1coi4 phones running 5.1.1. There has not been a custom kernel released (to our knowledge) and we wanted to know where there is documentation on what files we need, including version of ODIN to walk through the process.
We definitely need step by step instructions; some of the documentation we've come across leave steps out, or are pretty unclear. We've asked Max Lee of High on Android for assistance and he said we'd need to get a custom kernel, back up with TWRP and that he's not seen anyone root our model on 5.1.1 n910cxxu1coi4 yet. We surely cannot be the first.
All help appreciated!

Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
Look in the thread linked below, in post #1579 there are links posted for different kernels that will root your device on COI4 /COH4 firmware, find one to flash through Odin.

Rooting a S5 G900F. Total newbie.

Last week I received a brand new S5 G900F, no carrier, and want to have administrator privileges in order to remove bloatware. Plus, it would be nice to have adblock and apps to back up the entire system, both which aren't available in the phone's stock form, and maybe a custom ROM and Kernel.
I have never rooted a phone nor messed with its system files, so I'm a complete newbie on this. Also, I haven't connected it to the Internet yet, so that the phone is in its stock form before rooting it.
What's the simplest, safest yet effective method for rooting my phone? Afterwards, can I just update the phone to the latest version using the regular system settings menu, or should I do it externally (downloading the update on the PC)? Any particular tips on what to do next, such as what apps to remove, which to install and so on, if possible while keeping it simple? I read that CM 12.1 (ROM) + Ktoonsez (Kernel) is the way to go.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Avensvvvvvv
The best, safeest way to Root? - Have a look in the Q&A Forum, its mostly all here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700073
Some people use TowelRoot...
I used CF Auto root and found it easier. You can find here at XDA or at http://droidors.com/2015/03/24/root-samsung-galaxy-s5-sm-g900i-android-lollipop-5-0/ be aware that this link is for the g900i ot the g900f.
As for updating etc....a lot of the latest ROMS come with OTA (over the air) updates. Which ROMS? There is kind of a rule here that you dont ask which ROM is best because the idea is that you do loads of reading and try them out for yourself Lately Ive been playing around with PhoeniX ROM, Alliance ROM and some of the CM stuff...but all are good. Removal of Bloatware is pretty straight forward using Titanium Backup - or some ROMS supply their own method for doing do. Just be sure to not mess around with any of the system files while your still learning. Search Bloatware and you should find some good advice.
Thats about it mate - the main thing is to read, read, read and ask lots of questions before you do anything. Otherwise you'll have a very expensive paperweight on your desk Most of the people here are cool with Noobs asking questions in the correct forums....by the way this post should really be posted in the Q&A forum
Good luck flashing and rooting...and most of all....have fun!

You have a good answer in the above post.....
But in future, you need to give us more information about your device so that we can offer advice that is suited more exactly to your circumstances....
The version of Android currently running on your device is one critical bit of info you didn't provide.....
Some things to bear in mind about your phone....
1) Samsung have included something called Knox on these phones....it is basically an un-resettable 'eFuse' which 'tripps' when you flash any custom software to your device. Samsung are using it as an indicator to allow them to deny warranty claims.
2) when you root your phone you WILL trip knox, this will probably prevent you from receiving OTA updates to your device....and even if (by some miracle) you did get an OTA, it will remove your root access, and you'll have to start again....

Few questions on custom roms. (noob here)

hey guys, just want to start off saying that I love how helpful and informative everyone is on this site.
I've got a g900v that I newly rooted thanks to jrkrusem, I have installed the custom rom that he has on the tutorial through safestrap.
I figure i will ask before i continue and maybe brick my phone, I am slightly confused about the difference between bok3, bog5, boe1 etc.
I know Ive got a locked bootloader so no custom recovery but I would like to know which roms I can use. Basically I am looking for a little
clarification on this whole process if someone wouldn't mind enlightening me or even if there is a existing thread that I cannot find please leave a link. Thanks!

The last characters in the version designations are basically alphabetical, the order of which you can see here: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-G900V
With BOE1 and up, the bootloader was locked which prevents a downgrade.
The custom recovery for our phone is SafeStrap: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/development/safestrap-5-0-lollipop-t3313800
