So I am coming from the HTC A9 , and am at a lost looking for the Image Gallery. . . . . Its not even on the Play Store, and I am not a fan of the Google Photos app.
Is there an HTC Image Gallery on this phone that I am missing? Or has HTC gone so low as to not even make one for Android N?
I kept searching , and its on the play store if you view it in the browser.
It just won't let you install it to the Bolt (or A9). So I found this post that had a link to download the .apk .

I used the HTC Gallery 9.51.755029 apk and it works fine. Got it from apkmirror.
yeah, you have to sideload it...HTC ditched it for Google Photos

I am really sorry to bother you nice folks around here, but I have a problem.
A friend of mine used the Google Youtube app. He told me it was was an great app and that I should try it.
Because I trusted him, I did.
But if you install the Google Youtube app, it gets rid of your HTC Youtube App.
And we all know wich one is superior!
If I open an video through www.m.youtube.com I still get the same quality and interface as in the HTC Youtube app, so I guess my app is still hidden somewhere! I have searched everywhere on my device, but I could not find a file that redirects to the Youtube app. It's probably gone.

I had the exact same problem as you.
Don't download any youtube apps.
I did and it caused more problems like the registry font tweak and search sort order
stopped working..
So I installed the youtube apps that is flying around the internet.
If you install those, the tweaks font work.
Like you said the original youtube program is stored in
Windows folder, Just create a shortcut of one of those 2 youtube files
in Windows\start menu folder.
And you will have your youtube back in perfect condition.
Now.. my question is.. is there a youtube app that lets you view comments?
The htc one is quite good, but only if it allowed us to view comments..
The Android youtube app were really good at that..
Or is there a way to make opera like the safari on iPhone?
Instead of saying browser needs flash, Iphone just creates the video link
for all youtube apps so the browser triggers the iphone youtube app to handle
those flash youtube videos...

That's my workaround when i get directed to a youtube link from twitter or windows live.
I have searched the web, no one seems to have this problem?
So since the new gallery app, I think it came with Android 5. Whenever I download an image, from web or from Google drive it is blurred in the gallery, it is also blurred when I load it up full screen.
I have disabled 'Auto Enhance' I am not sure what this does but thought it could be the problem, this has made no difference. I have to edit every picture I download from my google drive, and enhance the 'deatil' option and 'sharpening' to fix each one. I don't want to be doing this as this is no doubt a drop in quality.
I also experience this problem on my Nexus 7 same android version. However my Nexus 10 does not seem to be doing the same, or if it is it is a lot less apparent. maybe just due to the higher resolution and screen size.
Any help would be appreciated....
Has no one got any ideas on this? I could post it in nexus 10 and 7 threads to, but don't really want to spam the forum.

Did you try to do wipe data and cache of this new gallery as well as the hidden folder /sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails?
If that didn't work for you, you could try KitKat's gallery app or a completely different one ( see Play Store)

Yup, having this same problem with my Nexus 4 running Android 5.0.1
Screen captures are also blurry and pictures transferred from computer to phone are same.
Any solution would be helpful

I used to have the same problem in 5.0 . I even confirmed with quick pic and some other gallery. Ever since i updated to 5.0.1 problem seems to be resolved. Still searching for a good gallery app. The apps i for from play store are way too slow.
Hello everyone! I am using Huawei P8. After I updated Messenger app to its latest version I have serious problems. The camera in the app works really bad. It's laggy with awful quality of the picture. In the previous version I didnt have this problen. I reinstalled it twice but the problem remained. Ill be very thankful if you know how I can fix it. Thank you!
Did it work well in earlier versions? If so uninstall the messenger you currently have, download an earlier version (Google it, I can't post links sadly), then install it.
It worked well but is there a way to fix the new version coz i wont be able to use it functions..

messenger was never optimized for p8´s camera, for me it always took way worse photos than original camera app, so when i wanted to send photo via messenger, i took it with camera and then share it via messenger, image is much sharper with better lighting , otherwise its up to facebook to fix it and i can take some time, if ever (and i doubt)...
You can download old version of APKs at apkmirror (dot) com. I personally use this site and trust this site a lot when downloading old versions of apps (like ES File or QuickPic) and also for getting APKs for my dad's Blackberry and on my old G3 without Gapps.
Hello all while I'm still waiting on my White NP1 device just wanted some recommendations for a Free/Paid gallery app.
I know this device uses Google Photos and I'm definitely not happy with them. (truth be known I only use Gmail, Google maps and Translate from the Google range of apps)
Normally I'm used to the gallery apps in Samsung, Honor or Huawei devices.
I don't what something the heavy on package size or system resources.

I use Simple gallery pro, very happy with it. But you can't directly open your (other) gallery from the nothing camera app. That only seems to work with Google photo's. That's rely annoying (close the camera app, start the gallery app to share a picture...}
Currently there seems to be now ay the photos in the camera app get routed to whaterver gallery app exists.
So i had to re-enable gPhotos after disabling them. But there are many avilables ones, you can try SimpleGalleryPro, open fDroid, or just the internet to find one of your choice.

Thanks to all for you input I already use some of the Simple apps and their gallery app did not get much positive feedback from my findings.
That's a bummber about the Gphoto app as I was going to disable or uninstall it hate use Gphoto.

I've a redmi note 7 pro & I've just flashed a pixel experience custom rom in it using orangefox. I didn't liked the default Google photos app so I removed it using uad ( universal android debloater ) using my pc ( windows 10 ), and I installed another gallery app called ' piktures' from play store and it's working totally fine. The problem is whenever I try to preview any photo or video taken by the camera from the camera app itself, it shows this type of error, I don't know how to fix this, neither YouTube nor Google has any solution..
Pls help me..!!! 🫤
